justwise:but what is wrong with people knowing if they can withdraw their money after submission of application or not? What’s fraud about that? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by justwise(m): 9:25am On May 27, 2018 |
Uchboggy: It's fraud because you deliberately lied to the embassy that you have money for the student visa to be used in Canada while in reality you have withdrawn the money. It's called misrepresentation and it carries 5yrs ban. 3 Likes |

justwise:I think we need to know this, so we can start to sue our banks for breach of privacy. Why would a bank disclose my balance to any organization, except law enforcement agencies? It's not always fraud. What is wrong in deciding to transact business with my money that will still be available to me whenever I need it? Must one tie down his money because of application for visa? I haven't come across anywhere in CIC rules that your money can't be used for other purposes pending when there's need for it. I think that's why some people are asked to either show evidence of payment or money in a Canadian bank account before a final decision can be made. These are my opinions though 4 Likes |

justwise: Lol this is funny though, I withdrew the money doesn’t mean I don’t have it, or I spent it, what if I like to keep my money in cash or I bought treasury bills or bitcoins or something else. Well , you have the powers so we play by your rules |

Hello everyone, is anyone here familiar with Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops Canada? I applied there for a MBA starting September 2018 but I haven’t yet got an answer? Moreover I might need tips on how to write an SOP to convince the visa officer as I already have an MSc from the UK. I was denied a Canadian student visa once in November 2017. Thanks to whoever is of assistance. Moreover on this Sunday may God help anyone on this forum working for a better life. 4 Likes |

MeinKampf: What privacy? Are you kidding me? You submitted every single info about you to the embassy AND signed a disclaimer that the info you submitted is genuine and true then the embassy called the bank to verify the same info you have given them and you called that breach of privacy? What planet are you from? 4 Likes |

reichwolf: You need to request for your GCSM note to have clarity as to what led to your denial in your first attempt. Once you have the note, then you can reapply. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by justwise(m): 10:39am On May 27, 2018 |
Uchboggy: That doesn't make sense, is either you have the money in your bank account supposedly for visa application or you don't, whether you want to have your money in cash or invest in any business got nothing to do with your visa application. Its not my rule, its just the issue of common human decency, trust and honesty. We Nigerians are our own worst enemy. 4 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Uchboggy(m): 10:49am On May 27, 2018 |
justwise:. I don’t intend to drag this issue , I will just make this point and move on, I have worked several years in a bank before like I said , it’s still a breach of privacy, the business is between me and my bank and me and embassy not embassy and my bank. I printed the statement signed and authorized by my bank, they can only ask my bank if the they actually authorized that statement of account or not. If the bank says yes they did they should be able to trust what they see there. So why is it a breach of privacy if I give my statement of account to a client to bid for a contract and he goes to the bank to ask about specific transactions or details and the bank obliges ? ? 6 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by justwise(m): 10:54am On May 27, 2018 |
Uchboggy: This is a flawed argument because the embassy is not your client. What you are committing is fraud and the bank has the right to protect their brand. 3 Likes |

Has anyone here got an admission for MBA program at Thompson Rivers University for September 2018? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Prudento: 11:19am On May 27, 2018 |
MeinKampf: It makes all the sense because you are thinking of innovating ways to misrepresent. You wish they don't check the account so you coukd lie that the money is meant for studies in Canada, then turn around and withdraw it for another purpose. Where I'm from this is called deviousness. You guys make things difficult for other Nigerians. 8 Likes 2 Shares |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by drhammed: 11:23am On May 27, 2018 |
justwise: With due respect, does that mean one should be tied down just because of VISA application? I'll have to put on hold all other expenses, won't be able to withdraw cash, and continue my living while waiting for decision? I'm not getting the exact point you're making here. No. Embassy people ain't as this wicked. I bet they have better means to verify than all money should remain there. I don't think anyone here's working directly with embassy, and everything here is just a speculation. I see nothing wrong if people ask to know this, fine some will be on fraud reason, and some will ask with a plain heart. Whatever the case may be, be guided that they can verify the information elsewhere outside this forum, and not ideal putting ALL laws into our hands. Peace, and happy Sunday Modified: Nogen has done justification to my curiosity. 6 Likes |

Prudento:Sounds like what you have a great deal of idea on. People like you accuse others of what they do from time to time. VOs aren't dumb, they know that even if you leave the money in your account for aeons, a dubious person will still divert the money. They are particular about proving means of livelihood of you or your sponsor to know that you can meet your financial obligations. Few people I know have scaled through with less than 1k dollars in their sponsor's accounts but the sponsors were able to demonstrate huge monthly income. Have a nice day |

Embassy reserves the right to verify the information you have given them including the said amount you have in your account. If you said you have mapped out 15m Naira for your school fees and living expenses, that said amount should be there. Why are you bothered about removing , when you can also add more money to your account. If your account is a busy one, even if you removed 1m for something urgent and later 1.5m is returned, you shouldn't have any problem with the Embassy. You and I know some people will just borrow money and lodge in their accounts just to print out bank statement and quickly move back the money to the owner. Embassies know about such people and that is why they embark on verification of your accounts. If you don't want them to investigate your account, don't apply. Thanks all 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Hello great house of intellectuals, please I would like to confirm if there wount be a problem for me for submitting printed copies of Bank statement from a salary account from Santander Bank in USA as he printed them from there himself, as that was what my brother who is my sponsor waybilled to me, though he included original and stamped copy of the reference letter from the Bank stating the total funds in his account.. Secondly is it advisable for your sponsor to use a University letter head paper to write sponsorship letter as my elder brother is a Professor at a recognized university in USA. Thirdly, have never seen anyone going for an accelerated track Bachelors degree before on this forum,as the admission I was given was a bachelors degree but an accelerated track in which I will complete the program in 2 years in lieu of the standard 4 years, due to the fact that my First degree in engineering was recognized for a second degree.. am scared as I only see masters and PGD student here.. Lastly, my brother being a Professor in a University in USA hope it wount be a red flag for me, as cic might feel why can’t I apply to the UNiversity my brother is lecturing in the USA and why Canada.. is my sponsor legit?? Please I need answers to my questions great men of this house! And to all TRV hopeful you shall all get it in Jesus name. Please help a brother! |

Hello guys, i am gunning for an MBA degree in Memorial University Newfoundland (MUN) primarily because it has one of the cheapest tuition in Canada at 2k+ per semester and over 6k per session. But i have some reservations tho: How likely am i to get a job within or outside the campus to sustain me while i school? Even though i already mapped out 4m for this project, working alongside wont be a bad idea Also, in the fees brochure, they wrote that payment is made every semester. Does that mean i will pay for just one semester, and of course other fees and charges, befoe coming over? One of their admission requirements is a GMAT score. How much would it cost me to write a GMAT exam now and how often is it written? They requested for a minimum result of 2.75 on a 4 point scale. Converting it to 5 pointb scale is 3.43. i doubt my CGP is up to that. What will be my fate? I will appreciate your experiences responses. Thanks. kingfintan: Well, you can state in your SOP that the US university admission time frame came at a time you were busy with some stuffs. And even at that Canada has always been your choice cuz of its multicultural environment. (US is multi too,but na choice ) Tell them the course module is a perfect match for you. You can add affordablility as well , that your Canadian school is affordable and yet maintaining standard . Other experienced gurus can help you better sir. |

odimbannamdi: Well done Bro. But 4m for an MBA won't be enough. Working here can help you pay for accommodation and feeding but never our school fees. You can't work more than 20hrs during school session. MBA fee is usually expensive. |

Kishkosh: kingfintan, To add to the post above. You could as well state why that course/Institution will assist you in reaching your long-term career and professional goals. Perhaps, that school might be a leading University in research pertaining to your field, or a Prof is there that has significant contributions to your field, and that you would love to work with. Do well to research on what the course have to offer, the staffs, laboratories or research institute, Internship placement offers, etc, and tailor it to your goals. Best wishes. 2 Likes |

Nogen: Thanks for the prompt response bro. Yea, i am working towards increasing my budget. Based on your experience, how much would jobs pay hourly? and am i likely to land a job as soon as i arrive? Apart from sustenance, one of my reasons for working is to enable me gather Canadian working experience to give me an edge in landing better jobs after my programme. What do you think? |
