Good afternoon gurus in the house. I got admission to study Msc.TME at UNB for fall 2018, though I deferred to fall 2019 and new admission letter has been sent to me. The confusion now is that it is a year program. Having gone through discussions on this thread, I am scared this doesn't reduce my chances of getting a visa when I apply. Please is it safe to look for another school with 2 years Msc program Thank you. |

Hello guys please does anyone here think it will be possible for me to get a Canadian student visa for an MBA even though I already have an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the UK?? I was denied once already. Thanks for any answer & please for SOP tips. 1 Like |

emeify: Congrats Sis.I can imagine how elated you'll be now. Pls what was the reason for your first attempt denial when you applied for a one year course based MSc?I applied for a one year MEng course based program. I need to identify the potential pitfalls especially as a mature applicant (married with a child) with an existing MSc from the UK.Besides; my elder brother will be sponsoring me. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated. |

justwise: @justwise while I agree with you that some people can easily get money just to show for visa sake and then remove after applying just to deceive the embassy, you have to agree that deceit or fraud is not always the point. You agree with me that asides having the right amount in your account balance, the embassy all checks cash inflow, cash out flow, employment letters. All these are to prove that there's a constant source of income and the applicant has the ability to generate funds when required. That being the case, it's clear that account balance isn't the only thing and that account balance may change so far the applicant to generate the funds when required. Also come to think of it. if the embassy really wants to ensure you have the money at the point of issuing visa, then they wouldn't even request that account statements be at least one month old. we all know a lot can happen in a month. Also if they wanted to be sure you an applicant has the money at the exact required time, then they'll probably ask for account statement last like they do for medical call. I'm in no way supporting fraud but not everyone in this scenario should be considered fraudulent. 4 Likes |

justwise: I don't know why people are worried about if embassy calls the bank or not if they have nothing to hide. The bad news is that embassy will definitely confirm your statement. If you like go to the Supreme Court. If you don't want your privacy to be breached, don't present a bank statement to the embassy or you don't apply for visa. 2 Likes |

Guys, is it possible to get approved on CIC account and not get an email notification of the approval? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by harde116: 5:44pm On May 27, 2018 |
I honestly don't think the embassy would ask your bank for your your closing balance and even your bank can't release such information. It is believed that with their stamp and signature, you have provided a genuine statement of account. If they doubt the authenticity of the statement, they can ask that you send another one after some time to check if there would be discrepancies. This happened to my friend that applied for PR, because the requirement was a minimum account balance of 12,000dollars. Plus ya'all need to know that 4months statement basically means they will see all your transactions in the last 4months, that's enough for them to prove if you can afford it even if you choose to withdraw the money after you present the account statment. There are no hard rules to this, stop thinking like you are the canadian embassy or VO. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Please you guys to help a brother answer some questions, great house of intellectuals, please I would like to confirm if there wount be a problem for me for submitting printed copies of Bank statement from a salary account from Santander Bank in USA as he printed them from there himself, as that was what my brother who is my sponsor waybilled to me, though he included original and stamped copy of the reference letter from the Bank stating the total funds in his account.. Secondly is it advisable for your sponsor to use a University letter head paper to write sponsorship letter as my elder brother is a Professor at a recognized university in USA. Thirdly, have never seen anyone going for an accelerated track Bachelors degree before on this forum,as the admission I was given was a bachelors degree but an accelerated track in which I will complete the program in 2 years in lieu of the standard 4 years, due to the fact that my First degree in engineering was recognized for a second degree.. am scared as I only see masters and PGD student here.. embarassed Lastly, my brother being a Professor in a University in USA hope it wount be a red flag for me, as cic might feel why can’t I apply to the UNiversity my brother is lecturing in the USA and why Canada.. is my sponsor legit?? Please I need answers to my questions great men of this house! And to all TRV hopeful you shall all get it in Jesus name. Please help a brother! |

A visa officer or CIC cannot go to your bank to ask for present account balance. The only thing the can do is confirm the authenticity of the statement of account you provided. I have been on this thread for well over a year and I have lost count of people with good balance and got denied for money reasons. One had a sponsor account balance of over a hundred million. The VOs and CIC know better and they focus more of account inflow and outflow. 4 Likes |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by justwise(m): 6:52pm On May 27, 2018 |
Lemia: I read that line from a lot of people here, inflow and outflow means absolutely nothing, your ability to meet the financial requirement and convince the embassy that the money will be available to you in Canada is the key here, it could be savings account without much activities on it but just the required amount to meet the cost of your education. Yes the embassy expect you to have that money not only until your visa is out but in Canada as well. If you don't have enough money to carry on your day to day activities without withdrawing from the account submitted to the embassy then forget about foreign education and do something else with your money. If you withdraw the money while your application is still under consideration then its fraud/misrepresentation simple |

drhammed:The moment you declare required funds for your study, it means those funds are available at the time you applied, during and after your visa application. Whether you chose to withdraw funds or not, it is your call. IRCC will assume funds are available and can at any point request you either reprint an updated SOA or pay a year fees. If you do not meet up such request, it is a straight refusal on insufficient funds. Asking whether they find out account balance or not shouldn't be a thing of interest if funds are truly for study. Truth is, IRCC can proceed as they deem fit under the regulatory laws. The moment you claim you have XYZ amount of money AVAILABLE for study for a year, you must have it. The Canadian visa officers are very unpredictable. There is no rule of thumb or guidance on how the ascertain funds are truly available as declared by applicant but trust me,if they find out funds are not available(applicant not meeting a request regarding further convictions on available funds etc), the ramification is dire. it will be concluded as misrepresentation. My advise to folks is always to ensure declared funds are available until a final decision is made on their application. Regards. 2 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by MeinKampf: 8:37pm On May 27, 2018 |
Setemiola:Depending on the route you are taking, if it's paper route, you pay at VFS but if it's online, you pay with your card online About 55k for paper route and 65-70k for online route depending on the exchange rate of your bank at the time of payment |
