To me, I think I won't let go of the Andela dream but I can go to the 3weeks NYSC camp and continue my program with Andela. I will try n work the NYSC to Lagos so it could be easy in case there is any thing to sign. That was my advice to him.

hmmm I wouldn't try it just because if Andela finds out by any way that you are still doing NYSC you will be let go immediately and then you might never be let back to try again as it is a red flag from an integrity standpoint, as you have lied repeatedly. My advice would be to wait till the person is done with it. The way Andela is structured for the first 6 months you will be required to be on site every day due to the learning, so repeated Friday absences for CD signing will be noted and flagged.

Sorry to hear this, bro. I have been coding for a similar amount of time and I only started to get really better when I worked on the bootcamp exercise I was given. The secret is to build things and have the support system (people with skills) that can help you when you get stuck unless it's frustrating. Or maybe you are not just passionate enough.
I never read a course relating to computer Science and i doubt if i have been into programming for as long time as you claimed.

One thing is certain, you may not be where you want to be and the journey can be frustrating especially without a programmer as a guide and this was exactly my case.
But trust me if you trust in your abilities until you create a first project then you are in. I have turned down offers and currently handling an experienced role in a good firm ofcourse you can predict the pay.

It doesn't have to be andela. Try to build a couple of projects, sort out your portfolio and you'll get maybe something much better than andela. Many people didn't pass through andela and they're doing fine

Yeah that's true. The opportunity to earn while learning, leveraging on those that are more experienced.

However, one shouldn't see it as the end if one doesn't get it because andela is one of the means to an end. There are other means too. It all depends on the individual and how far they're willing to go
