Peter, the Israelis are not the Israelites of the Bible, and there is nothing like 'Palestinians'. The so-called Palestinians are Jordanians who were living on the land and were forcefully evicted by the Israelis in 1948. Both of them are not the owners of the land.

I feel for the Palestinian people, why are they endangering their lives fighting for what does not belong to them? History has it that Jerusalem rightly belongs to Israel. Remember the Nation of Israel that King David ruled over was broken into two, 10 tribes given to Jeroboam while two tribes were given to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.

The tribes given to Rehoboam were Judah and Levi.

Jeroboam set his headquarters in Samaria, while Judah which became a Nation set it's headquarters in Jerusalem.

The Nation of Israel was taken in batches into Assyria as Captives long before Babylon took the Nation of Judah into Captivity.
While Israel was in Captivity in Assyria, Judah was in Captivity in Babylon.

The Nation of Israel was still in captivity when the Assyrian Empire fell and the Israelites were to become or became double captives. They never returned back to their land.

Now, the Nation of Judah which was the House if Judah and Levi, were in Babylon for 70yrs and during the reign of Emperor Cyrus, the Temple and the Walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt, and the exiled Judah returned. But Israel never returned.

The Nation which the Romans ruled over was not Israel but Judah, but when Jesus came, he never talked about Judah but Israel.
