If you are going to credit the APC with a power station not 5% complete, be a MAN (an honest one) and list the power stations completed between 1999-2015.

I even posted a link stating that the contract for the project was awarded just last year and the expected completion date is 6 years from now.

I was trying to show how crooked, corrupt, thoughtless and incompetent OBJ and the PDP clowns were.

They spent $16 billion and end up with 2050MW, but the plan and design for 3050mw Mambila were on OBJ's table, on Jona's table too so why not spend $5 billion on 3050MW instead of spending $16 billion on 2050MW? Because multiple contracts means opportunity to loot all over the place.


Btw, with all the power plants you listed and after $16 billion and 16 years of PDP and Jona, they gave us nothing but darkness in return, so exactly what's your point?

As at today, Nigeria has a total installed capacity of 12500MW. Saying the PDP spent $16Billion and ended up with 2050MW is a bloody lie because before 1999, Nigeria had an installed capacity of more than 2050MW.

Kanji built in 1968 800MW
Jebba built in 1985 540MW
Shiroro built in 1990 600MW
Ughelli completed in 1990 900MW

Even before PDP came into power, Nigeria had more than 2050MW. As at 1999, none of them was working at full capacity and a lot of them are still not working at full capacity 3 years into Buhari's tenure.

This is not the full the list, you do well to to find out about the NIPP project. The Niger Delta powe company (Buhari appointed a new head) has about 10 power stations alone.[/s]

Most of this stations are not operation because of Gas issues (OBJ's fault) but 3 years into Buhari's tenure, he still hasn't fixed the gas issues.

If you want to give empty praise, you can say for each year of PDP's rule, a power station was built, PMB has been here 3 years not one has been built.

PMB is spending $5 billion on 3050 Mambila and to be ready in less than 6 years.

So, explain the difference between $16 billion/16 years on 2050MW Vs $5 billion on 3050MW and 6 years.

Useless PDP, OBJ and incompetent Jona should have spent 5 billion on 3050 Mambila and the plan and design were on their table, it's been on the drawing board for over 30 years.

In 2018 alone, we are getting over 1.000MW and on top of that, 450MW Geregu2, plus tons of transmission projects, all in less than 3 years.




Thank God I'm a praise singer for PMB and not some crooked and corrupt clowns that saddled us with darkness in return for $16 billion and wasted 16 years.

Nigeria’s former military leader Muhammadu Buhari has blamed the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the country’s continuing power problems and claimed that there is less electricity now than there was at the end of military rule in 1999.

In a speech announcing his decision to run as an opposition candidate in the country’s February 2015 elections, the retired general said: “When PDP came to power in 1999 Nigeria was generating about 4,000 MW of electricity. After 15 years and $20 billion spent we are generating between 3,000 and 4,000 MW.”

Power supply: Fashola to commission new giant transformers in Kaduna




The Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola is set to commission two installed Mega Volt-Amps (MVA) and Kilovolt Amps (KVA) giant transformers as part of the government efforts in addressing power outage in the country in Kaduna next month (June).
This was disclosed by the Managing Director, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Usman Muhammad Gur after the inspection of the power projects in Kaduna on Sunday..

He said the transformer installation project was parts of efforts to quit redundancy in the power transmission, assuring, that, the textile industry in Kaduna, which became moribund due to the inadequate power supply will soon bounce back.

‘In fact, a Chinese company that produces electrode will soon come to Nigeria, because we have assured them of constant power. Not only that, all the companies that ran to Ghana and other African countries will soon prefer to do business in Nigeria.”
