so you will drop iwobi?
Look again. I included him in my midfield because he has a future as a CAM.
In fact for the 2022 World Cup, I see him and Nwakali dictating the pace from the middle of the park in the same way as Iniesta and Xavi did in their prime.

Shehu

Gks: Uzoho, Ajiboye, Ezenwa

Defenders: Ebuehi, Shehu, Awaziem, Omeruo, Ekong, Balogun, Idowu, and Aina.

Midfielders: Mikel Obi, Etebo, Onazi, Ndidi, Iwobi, John Ogu.

Yes, Lokosa will put up a decent performance against the English and that will propel him into the final squad

etebo better than Joel obi as CM anytime anyday...whenever he plays with mikel....he shines....
Joel is still rash with his tackles...and offer less offensively compare to etebo

Simmy and Ighalo are definitely our 2 top 9s and it will be foolhardy to drop either of them. Anybody suggesting Lokosa over Simmy is being unreasonable because Simmy has wealth of experience Lokosa can only dream of and has also played in one of the best league in the world with hard tackling defenders

Etebor is not better than Joel in the CM nor in the DM, though , Etebo gives more attacking option but he can be erratic with his attacking forays. Joel on the other hand is an old fashioned CM/DM with high level of discipline and concentration. Joel is just high energy as Etebor but more calculative

Benfica Newbie Ebuehi Provides Update On Injury & It's Very Good News

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Benfica new signing Tyronne Ebuehi will be assessed by Super Eagles medics after picking up an injury in the 1-1 draw with Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday evening.

Shortly after Ebuehi was substituted, a worried Gernot Rohr requested to know about the extent of his injury and the right-back has claimed he was only suffering from cramps and it's nothing serious.

The 22-year-old made his home debut against the Leopards and was one of the most impressive players on parade for the Super Eagles before he hobbled off the pitch in the 76th minute.

He was seen as a serious contender for the right-back spot but had struggled with groin complaints before he reported for international duty.

It is all but confirmed that Gent winger Moses Simon will not attend the 2018 World Cup after suffering an injury in training, while Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi faces a race against time to be fully fit for the tournament.

Former Mainz defender Leon Balogun, who had been lacking match fitness before his trip to Uyo, came through today's game unscathed.

The other big headache would be the starting line jobs England. The players, except the 14 or 15 who are “sure-bankers”, would desperately want to play a part in the game.

If Ajiboye doesn’t feature at all, then it’s safe to say the goalkeeping trio for the WC will be Uzoho, Ezenwa, and Akpeyi.

Exactly. Ighalo is our most technically gifted and skillful striker. Dude can fashion a chance for himself out of nothing.

.....fashion a chance for himself out of nothing. Yet he has not scored since after the first leg against Cameroon.

Rohr is dropping 5 players in Nigeria. I doubt Ajiboye will even travel.

you're right it is too late.
after watching the eufa my fear stems from the question....what if mikel becomes unavailable to play during the mudial?
how will the midfield look like?

well...let's hope for the best.

You see now? When I said sometime ago that goalkeeper crisis is the least of our worries, you think say na play? For all we care we can play without a keeper if we can boss the midfield. Thats my own philosophy and opinion. At least now e don clear say una go get something new to make noise about.

A look at Etebo any day any time will tell you that he cannot be the 10 you are looking for. But you will hear people make all the noise about him being a baller. All I see is an Amokachi version 0.5.

Our eyes don dey clear small small. Make we continue dey make noise on Uzoho and Akpeyi.
My own beef is how is it that it took us this long to really know that we needed a 10 in the absence of Mikel? How long will it take to know that some players just cant cut it as a make shift 10? If Naija crashes out i the world cup at least we know where the problem lies. Lets stop fooling around and address the koko of the matter.

Solution: Remove every nigerian in the coaching crew and allow the coach do a proper screening excercise. Enough also with the media interference. Most journos are also agents themselves.

Don't try to prove to be too smart by lieing through your teeth.

Ebuehi held the back of his thighs first before he got to ground and held his toes.

That's a sign of pain in the groin which is called hamstring injury.

If he didn't aggravate it and was walking well after the match then Glory be to God because I will be guttered if that injury resurfaced

But let it be known to you that my first paragraph wasn't a statement of fact rather that of fear and uncertainty.

Haba! Oga .....groin injury and hamstring are 2 different things sir. Please dig a little deeper.

For sake of fairness, against England, I would want us to start Ighalo as the CF and at half time depending on how the game is going we feature Simy.

But if you ask me, I think this Simy looks more threatening than Ighalo.

As for Lokosa, he did very well even though he was played out of position. Even if he doesn't make Russia, he has done enough to merit future invitations to the national team.

Simon's injury has made the selection a bit easier for Rohr.

And that ladies and genntlemen is the Real Truth and you can take that to the Bank!

Oga, why do you always make comments like these?

That's how the other time you magnified Cameroon so tey you became a Cameroonian fan at a point.
So because Nwakali and Azubuike are not in this team your own World Cup has come and gone.

Well, for me the World Cup party is just about to start. I have placed order for my jersey already. I have my collection of Green and White Super Eagles Survenoirs. I am placing them on my dash board like I always do during major competitions.

The World Cup party takes place only once in 4 years and I would not let one or two players that were not selected spoil my fun.

Roll the drums Jare...........the mundial is upon us again....

Pls, how were you able to do this? Kindly provide the link. I have been visiting Nike website since March and i have not seen any update on the sale or any available link to pre-order any of the Nigeria world cup shirts. You,ll see Portugal, England etc which goes for £64 but nothing about Nigeria.

I wonder why it is taking so long.

Exactly what I have been screaming about since... We have too many dormant, unproductive and ineffective DMs in these present team. They need to be shown the way out. Its not rocket science. We lack creativity going forward.

Our problem is not Goalkeeper, its not Defense, its not Attack... Our problem is the Midfield. The midfielders are not linking well with our attack. We just can't seem to score from open play anymore.

Something drastic have to be done. My suggestion is to ship 4 of these guys out

Agbo
Joel Obi
Agu
Etebo

Going to the world Cup, my midfielders are

John Mikel Obi
Iwobi
Ndidi
Onazi
John Ogu

Then after the world cup, we bring in

Kelechi Nwakali
Ebele Eze

V. Moses can even be listed as a Midfielder so that Lakossa can make the 23 as one of the forwards

.................

My Russia 23

Uzoho (he is doing very well)
Ezenwa
Ajiboye

Ekong
Balogun
Awaziem
Omeruoh
Shehu
Ebuehi
Echiejile
Idowu

Mikel Obi
Iwobi
Etebo
Ndidi
Onazi
John Ogu

Iheanacho
Ighalo
Musa
Simy
Lakossa
V. Moses

Agu was not bad when he came in, lokosa will not go to worldcup.

Joel or agu will make it in...joel has been off form

Etebo wasn’t bad. He took our indirect free kicks at the laters stages and delivered well. But they were times he was found wanting. He could have made a stronger case to be taken to London if he had executed a long range shot to an open net (the keeper had come of his lines). I will give him a 5/10. But he could have done better.

Joel Obi played pretty well in the first half.

Etebo was poor with the freekicks and corner even iheanacho indirect freekick was poor....moses will continue with the duty

oshe technical. up till now none of you have been able to convince me that iwobi has been effective from the wings. none. in actual fact what redeemed iwobi was the goal he scored against zambia to send us through. after that match he was por against algeria. he was brilliant against argentina playing as a false nine(which he himself said he prefers to play in). i am currently watching him against poland.poor, poor. against serbia he was poor on the wings. he sensed that there was gap in the midfield and drifted in there. we saw flashes of what he has to offer. so pray tell, coachee show me how effective iwobi has been from the wings that you insist that he must play there. only thing that bends this argument in your favor is the injury to simon moses because that has limited our options on the wings to just three players unless iheanacho or ighalo are sometimes played outwide
