Joebie: Before yesterday's game, the coach had an idea of who he was going to drop. There were no outstanding performers in my view to change his opinion. Lokosa did very well but not enough to force the coach to review his list in my opinion. Even Simy Nwankwo's case has been aided by Moses Simon's injury but he also offers something different. |

Gent Winger Simon Travels To London To Get Second Opinion On Injury Published: May 29, 2018 Gent Winger Simon Travels To London To Get Second Opinion On Injury The Nigeria Football Federation will wait until the last minute before officially axing Moses Simon from the World Cup roster, with the winger set to undergo another medical examination in the United Kingdom this week. The 22-year-old suffered a thigh injury during training last week and the initial prognosis is that he would be sidelined for up to four weeks, which effectively rules him out of the mundial. Injuries plagued Moses Simon this past season and he missed Nigeria's final World Cup qualifier against Algeria plus the friendly with Argentina due to a foot injury. ''It is not yet final, Simon is going to London for a second scan,'' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com. ''They are not confident with the scan done here, the scan will be done in London when they go for the friendly with England.'' Defenders Chidozie Awaziem and William Troost-Ekong suffered minor injuries last week but participated in the Super Eagles final training session before the friendly against Democratic Republic of Congo. If Simon Moses second scan is positive, what happens to Simy? Would a midfielder have to be dropped? |

I say good performers. You say outstanding. Simy made a case for himself based on what he can add to the team that was probably lacking before. He would still have made the trip to London regardless of Simon’s condition. [ tbaba1234: 1 Like |

Joebie: I am saying that players who were not already on the list had to be outstanding not just good to force the coach's hand. If Lokosa was already in the list to London before the match, then the performance will help his cause. If he wasn't, then he would have needed an outstanding performance to make the coach think twice. |

Well we are all assuming that Lokosa was not in his list, and we all no why. Rohr already have his reasons why Simy would most likely go to London. Simy showed that he could bring something new to the table. I’m saying even if Simon was not injured, Simy would still go to London. Does Rohr see his performance as outstanding? Probably not. tbaba1234: |

tbaba1234: I would disagree with last statement concerning simmy His performance yday irrespective of simons health status wouldn't av determined simmy's fate. and luckily for him,he brut in something new,d guy is skillful, has foot work, can also hold on to d ball for others to come and get into d attacking play. |

Same Lokosa who drew the foul that led to our only goal. Even if he had scored that header he missed yesterday, many of us would have still said he didn’t wow us. The point is Lokosa deserves to go to London. I’m not even talking about Russia. By default, we know he is not good enough because of where he plighs his trade. But if I were the coach I would reward his Congo performance with a trip to London. And that’s ALSO good for our league. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

Joebie: That is Victor Ezeji's position. He is not even talking about London, he is talking about the final list. Rohr has decided on taking 25 players to London. If Lokosa was not already on that list before the match, it means another player has to be dropped to accommodate him. Iheanacho had a poor game even though he had the assist for Ekong's goal. Can you on the basis of that poor game, drop Iheanacho when you know what he can do? I think, we need to see Lokosa again in another game but we can do that now or after the WC. I remember Lukmon Haruna scoring and having a great friendly games before disappearing in the WC proper. Forget sentiments about trying to promote the league, that should not even be under consideration now. The national team is not there to promote the league. 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 10:02pm On May 29, 2018 |
That’s his opinion of course. But why is he not giving Lokosa another chance against England? Aha! We can’t use the excuse of Haruna, Ogbeche etc to say no more gatecrashers. If they gonna fool u with an outstanding performance before he World Cup, you may as well not invite them in the first place. Same applies to Joel Obi and Simy. At the end of the day it is Rohr’s call. But nobody dey force am to drop 5. Who said he can’t drop 3 or 4 instead? It’s all his decision. Modified It seems u have forgotten to soon that Lokosa got his first invitation to promote the league. Oh sorry I’m wrong. hasn’t he proven that his 18 goals is no fluke? tbaba1234: 1 Like 1 Share |
