goldfish80: If Aina was as bad as Osas. I will be buying his ticket myself back to England. Scale is an important word. Both have defensive frailties but on different scales. Osas has shown me one of the worst performances, i have ever seen from a full back in my life. Aina has not reached that level inspite of his obvious weaknesses. 2 Likes |

Joebie: Rohr invited him and was not impressed with him apparently. |

Guys lucosa played out of position was due to the fact rohr wanted to see if he could replace simeon meaning the coach likes him .the fact is lucosa stands no Chance with the likes of ighalo and simy even at the moment ighalo Isn't sure if he's going to be in the ist 11 with the spark simy showed against Congo. Moreover with the stature lucosa has he should be able to play as a winger take the likes of Suarez, salah, Messi even musa can play as a striker. So u guys should stop saying he was played out of position. You can't have two powerful forwards like simy and ighalo and be expecting lucosa to have a shirt. 2 Likes |

It’s Lokosa. So now, since he can’t replace Simon, what next? Simy replaces Simon? That your stature logic is flawed. Lokosa will not go to Russia for obvious reasons and I’m not complaining. Is anyone arguing for his inclusion here? There are clear under-performers staring at our faces. Aina, and Echiejile are not WC materials. We need to be worrying about that and not Lokosa. Lokosa’s invitation was unnecessary. Nobody expected he will score a hart-trick. Even if he did “who will we drop him for?” Naughtytboy: |

Best crosser where? In which match? We judge players based on their SE performance after they have been invited. Same reason why we cut Iwobi and some other players a slack. How many crosses has Aina connected since his debut? tbaba1234: 1 Like |

I prefer Ikouwem udoh utin and Musa Muhammed to all the fullbacks we have in camp. I can't wait for post world Cup to see take over, including Usman Muhammed and Kelechi Nwakali |

I don’t know why we won’t call a spade a spade. Aina has done nada despite the chances he’s gotten. He’s battling against Echiejile for goodness sake. goldfish80: 1 Like |

Joebie: From day 1,I haven't seen anything spectacular abt aina as far as I am concerned. Majority here only have soft spot for him based on d fact dt he switched Nationals, not dt, he's a better option to echiejile Like I av said b4,if aina were to b a thorough bred naija player,he wouldn't av made d 30man list to start with I prefer dt utin udo to aina self |

Rohr: How I Selected My 30-Man World Cup Squad; Why Nwakali Missed Out May 25, 2018 5:14 pm By Kayode Ogundare in Uyo: Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has explained how he came about his provisional 30-man squd for the World Cup and also revealed why teenage sensation Kelechi Nwakali was not included. “It (the list) was not of my own making alone. I have backroom staff, including the medical team and I gathered all of them in my house. We looked at the players one by one and asked what qualities they have, and how they will complement the other players,” Rohr explained during a media briefing in Uyo on Friday. “Of course I looked first at the players who were with us for the qualifiers but then I also looked at other players who have done well for their clubs. That’s why you see players like Junior Lokosa who is doing very well in the Nigerian league and Simy Nwakwo who had an excellent season in Italy.” The German-born coach also revealed why Nwakali was not in the squad. Football fans had queried why the former Golden Eaglet star was not included, particularly after he put up a five-star performance against Atletico Madrid in last Tueday’s friendly international. Rohr said: “Nwakali is a good player. I knew him before now and he was in my list of 35 players. We had a team of 50 players which we pruned down to 35 and then 30. By the time he played against Atletico, we had already submitted the 30-man list on May 14 and the game against Atletico was on May 22 so it was too late to include him. He’s in my plans and definitely he will be invited after the World Cup.” Rorh also hinted that new invitees Lokosa and Nwakwo will get the chance to prove their mettle in Monday’s friendly international against Congo DR in Port Harcourt. “We will see them on Monday and hopefully they will make a case for their inclusion with their performance against Congo DR and even if they don’t get to be selected, they would have learnt valuable lessons from training with the team. But I have been impressed so far with their performances,” he said. --CSN 1 Like 1 Share |

It was said here that Simon's injury also strengthens Simy's case.. Simy was never going to replace Simon, since he is not winger. @bolded, that's the point. Naughtytboy: |

Luckyroro: Aina is not a LB. He's a RB. Though I don't trust him for the job now but I think his talent is very obvious. He plays with more confidence and his passing skill is really good. With time, he can improve and be like Taye Taiwo who also attack minded but me go go with Echiejile for WC. |

I said it was said here.. Before now I said Simy would have still made the list to London, regardless of Simon's condition. modified Take note that Rorh spoke about Simy's qualities and admitted we didn't have such type of player. Naughtytboy: |

Awaziem would even do a better job as a LB. He's played there for his club. We should drop both players, and maybe consider Agbo as a back up CB lol.. Aina still has a future with SE, he needs to keep working hard. forgiveness: |
