forgiveness:Oga forgiveness i think you have been in this business for so long and you must know better how Nigeria national team selection goes irrespective of coach(foreign or local) Different interest came into players selection and do not be deceived Rohr must listened to his back room staffs, so what they give him he works with. I want to tell you that five dropped players from original 35 man list played against Atletico, and one keep on asking why players like Samuel Kalu,Ebere Eze,Peter Olayinka and Ajagun were not called up even if Rohr has seen enough of Nwakaeme,Kayode,Alampasu and Esiti. Sir this is Nigeria nothing should surprised you,a lot of damn pressure from officials, agents and backroom staffs, bros you should know better,Nigeria factor and it would take an highly discipline coach to succeed. I remember i was having discussion with Humility017 and i said i know a lot about eagles especially players invitations. Check Simeon injury issue,an NFF official insisted that Simeon must have another medical check up in London cos he was suspecting conspiracy. This are the pressure a coach face in managing Nigeria national team. But good things is that Rohr is getting it right by managing the team irrespective of players recommended to him.He gave them the opportunity but if you don't measured up you are out Sir let's hope for better WC irrespective of players involved cos 2018 w definitely determine 2019 Afcon and 2022 WC. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

forgiveness:I think Lokosa should be tried once more on the right wing. That guy seems to have presented himself as a capable alternative to Simon. He was really skillful and agile. And with an eye for goals. For me, one thing is for sure. He's more deadlier in the opponent's box than Simon Couple this with his ability to play as WF. |

Rohr had said it since March that he would be releasing a 30 man list in May.. meaning he had a 35 man list prior to the Poland-Serbia friendlies. Possibly that list was pruned down even before he released the 28 man list. Even in the selection of the 30 he said they took the decision collectively. So really there is nothing more I can say than he has sentimental people around him. And who knows, there could be more things I don't know. forgiveness: |

What sir Kog45 described is nepotism somewhat. I don't see anything wrong with the use of that word, especially since we know it is ingrained in our system. Petrobros:si 2 Likes |

forgiveness: Let's say Kayode and Ajagun were also part of the 35 man list which included kelechi Nwakali, would you know? If Rohr didn't give us this info today about Nwakali, would you know? The 4 other players that made the number up to 35 have not been revealed and we won't know until it is revealed. But the point is that, those 5 names were removed and the list pruned down to 30 by Rohr. If it was a 35 man list that was released, then i am certain that Kayodo's name will be on it. I will bet that apart from kayode, Ajagun, Henry Onyeakuru, and either Peter Olayinka or Kalu will be in that 35 man list. Why the hue and cry?... Why the fuss?.... Isn't it obvious that Rohr found all the extra 5 names surplus to the teams requirements? which is simply an indication that this 5 extra players didn't measure up to the names in the first 30? What is your problem? Kayode is a Top 9.. Compare him to the top 9 will have in the team... Ighalo, Iheanacho, Simy and see that he doesn't come anywhere close to any of these 3. Ighalo club career goals = 100 National team career goals = 4 Iheanacho club career goals = 15 National team career goals including youth teams = 16 Simy club career goals = 56 No national team experience yet Kayode club career goals = 45 National team career goals including youth teams = 4 Let it be known to you that Kayode played U17 in 2009 = 0 goals He played U20 teams in 2011 & 2013 = 4 goals He played u23 = 0 goals Super Eagles 4 caps = 0 goals Is this the kind of blunt striker that you are selling to us?... Is this the kind of wasteful striker that you are trying to force down our throats?... The only person in direct competition to him is Iheanacho but let it be known to you that Iheanacho a younger teen to kayode is far more clinical than kayode. Iheanacho excelled in the same youth team where kayode failed during his time. Iheanacho took his opportunity with both hands when club and country came calling, so there is actually no basis here for comparison. Give it a rest already as kayode is the same league of Ideye(another very blunt striker) and Nwankweam Kayode is a FLOP!.. Kayode is a BIG FLOP!!... I repeat.. KAYODE IS A BIG FLOP,!,!! 8 Likes |

Joebie: And for those people clamouring for Nwakali why didnt they do so immediately the list was released? We all (including Rohr) had to see what he could really offer after the Athletico game. This is why we need more of such games. Nobody should blame Rohr abeg 2 Likes |

cc: Chriskels, realpoacher.. See the report. World Cup: Ebuehi shrugs off injury concerns Super Eagles’ defender, Tyrone Ebuehi has played down concerns that he might be battling with a serious injury. Ebuehi started in the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw against DR Congo but was subbed for Shehu Abdullahi after he went down holding his leg. The Netherlands-born left-back, who had an impressive game against DR Congo, in an exclusive interview with AOIFootball.com revealed that he only had cramps. “No, because I haven’t played for a long time so that is why cramp started coming on my calf. Yes I will be fine for the England game,” he assured. Super Eagles flew into Abuja on Tuesday morning ahead of a wealth investment seminar. They are also billed to meet with Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday before jetting out to London. As part of the preparation for the Mundial, the Eagles will play against the Three Lions of England who are also World Cup bound. The Benfica defender further said that Nigeria could come out tops in the friendly against England in London, noting that it will not be an easy encounter. “Everything is possible. It’s not going to be easy but I think it is possible. We can come out tops against England,” he concluded. http://aoifootball.com/2018/05/30/world-cup-ebuehi-shrugs-off-injury-concerns/ 5 Likes 1 Share |

World Cup: Hopeful Simon wants to undergo further scan in the UK Super Eagles’ winger, Moses Simon has not given up hope of appearing in his first ever FIFA World Cup despite initial reports ruling him out of the tournament, with the player now wanting to undergo further scans in London ahead of the England game to ascertain if he can still force his way to the Mundial, AOIFootball.com can authoritatively confirm. Coach Gernot Rohr earlier revealed that the Gent winger will be undergoing further scans in Abuja to see if he would be fit, however, a very close source to the winger revealed to this medium that Simon still wants further tests in the UK. “Simon doesn’t trust the scan results being conducted here. He wants it to be delayed till the team gets to London. “If Rohr leaves the scan till London, it means he will still have to accommodate Simon in his 25- man squad for London. If the scan results are favourable, he is willing to wait for the boy’s recovery in time for the World Cup. But what if the London results confirm his worst fears? It can go either way,” the source disclosed. Rohr is said not to be against the London idea as it would help him make up his mind on one of his regular acts during the qualifiers but it will also affect his World Cup schedule. http://aoifootball.com/2018/05/30/world-cup-hopeful-simon-wants-to-undergo-further-scan-in-the-uk/ 2 Likes |

I’m fully fit and ready for the world cup, Ndidi declares Super Eagles’ midfielder, Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi has said he is fully fit and ready to do battle for Nigeria at the forthcoming World Cup in Russia, and that his injury bouts are behind him as he can’t wait to return to the field of play after almost six weeks, AOIFootball.com reports. The Leicester City of England star, who has been training on his own since joining the Eagles’ camp last week, told AOIFootball.com shortly after the team’s arrival in Abuja, that he is only just moments from returning to the pitch of play as he looks forward to the game against England at Wembley. “No shaking. I’m okay. Tell Nigerians that I’m fit for the World Cup. I will give my best to ensure we fly Nigeria’s flag well in Russia. “It is painful to see others playing and you are not. I will put in everything possible to make sure I am fit and strong. It is the dream of every player to play at the World Cup and I’m looking forward to it. Look at me I’m okay”, the midfielder said, playfully kicking an imaginary ball. Ndidi is arguably the best tackling midfielder in the whole of Europe’s top five leagues with an average of 4.5 tackles per game. He added that he’s looking forward to facing club mate, Jamie Vardy when both nations clash at the prestigious Wembley Stadium on Saturday. http://aoifootball.com/2018/05/30/im-fully-fit-and-ready-for-the-world-cup-ndidi-declares/ 1 Like |

Martz101:Pls is Idowu better than Echiejile of 2010-2014?NO The issue now is we are having Echiejile who has lost form to the level that we don't have options than to stick with any available option. Idowu of today is not better than Echiejile of 2014 talk less of Aina On NPFL players better than Aina, yes we have them just like in any other positions in eagles but technically they are not better. I have a friend Sunday Johnson playing for Kwara United in late 90s and only outfield home based player to make Sydney 2000 Olympics football team. This guy is a baller and one of the two home based players always getting invitation under coach Thijs Librecjth. This guy was better than Finidi and Tijani combined, fast and highly skilled. He went to Ajax trial and was successful but failed medical. When he came back he said o boy i know nothing about football, am just talented but technically am zero. This is the problem with NPFL players and our coaches are not helping matter in their development. I watched Cara of Congo against Enyimba live and i cry for Nigeria league, what a terrible displayed by Enyimba. i saw CHAN LB and Fly eagles captain Ikwuonmen and i shook my head, not yet there, good option for him is to go to Europe and start developing but seeing him in NPFL again next year, is like talents going into extinction. |

I do not want any addition of players that will disrupt team chemistry and camaraderie...looking at players not invited, non is exceptionally brilliant.Almost all our players are just average, with that scenario, team work is sine qua non. Look at Iceland,no exceptional talent but they are a close unit..one plays in Bristol City, another in Randers, two in Rostov, others playing in clubs like Valeranger,Udinese,Valur,Cardif City,Lokeren,Aberedeen,Everton,Malmo,Reading...i mean our players even play in better clubs than them...they still qualified for the world cup with these players as FIRST TEAMERS OOOO.. they are a hard nut to crack...Over and above all,we need a TEAM....Not really this or that individual....but anybody outside the qualifying team that has something to add to the team can be brought as Rohr has said and done with Simy. He could have used d match to seal echiejiles fate in d super eagles, yet Rohr didn't trust aina and he kept inviting him for further games despite not using echiejile and him at d subsequent games? Y did he bring idowu into d mix? Its dt not enough evidence to tell u dt Aina is not better Dan echiejile? I repeat,Aina is not better Dan echiejile.. Simple |

tbaba1234:I think medical reports from camp should do the talking not players telling us they are fit.World cup is not for unfit players. Rohr should be the one talking on their fitness level cos players like Ebuehi and Ndidi are important to the team. If Moses Simeon or any players would be out in the next two weeks then they should be dropped. In other countries nothing like managing players, Romero out Argentina called replacement ASAP but here stories. |
