which osas are you talking about? you guys will never seize to amaze me. can osas make the grade in a league 2 team? so aina made one mistake which is common in all aspect of life and now he is not good enough? aside shehu, ebuehi can you comfortably name a better right back than aina in nigeria? this kid is still learning the trade and its normal mistakes will be made during that process. aina remain an important figure in the current super eagles set if not for anything his ability to play in more than one position is testament to his importance.

oga calm down with those analysis....been a footballer in Nigerian has alot of limitation, the likes of Aina will never make it to NPL level in Nigeria. forget sentiment there is nothing special about him.

give osas same treatment and believe and he will shine like a million star, naso una talk say lokosa na another uzoenyi and was not good enough but he disappointed you all.

at this stage Aina going to worldcup will be sentiment and not footballing reason

Nevertheless, forgiveness you are hitting your head against a very hard brickwall. Sir Kog45 has put it down very ably. You can only continue to cry.

Though I know Lokosa was not given a chance in his natural role but I will never drop Simy for him because he not effective on the wing and I have not seen him played in the striker role.
I'm not comparing him with Simy for a spot. A probable replacement for the injured Simon is what I'm talking about.

World Cup: Rohr drops Lokosa, Agbo; Simy makes new 24-man list

Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Gernot Rohr has dropped the quartet of goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye, defender Stephen Eze, midfielder Uche Agbo, as well as NPFL hotshot Junior Lokosa, as he trimmed his list to 24 players, AOIFootball.com can authoritatively report.

The Franco-German had earlier revealed that five players would be dropped from the cut but injury to winger Moses Simon opened up for probably one new inclusion, with Rohr opting for FC Crotone of Italy striker Simeon Nwankwo as the striker battles it out for the final 23-man squad that will fly to Russia in the coming days.

Despite being backed by Rohr in his pre-match conference prior to the DR Congo clash last Friday, Standard Liege midfielder Uche Agbo was dropped after not featuring in any of the qualifiers whilst NPFL goal banger Lokosa also misses out despite impressing in the game against Congo.

The squad, comprising 3 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 7 midfielders and 5 attackers, will join Chelsea star Victor Moses in the UK as they prepare for the friendly game against England on Saturday.

Full Squad:

Goalkeepers: Francis Uzoho, Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

Defenders: Abdullahi Shehu, Tyronne Ebuehi, William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Chidozie Awaziem, Kenneth Omeruo,  Bryan Idowu, Ola Aina, Elderson Echiejile.

Midfielders: Ogenyi Onazi, Mikel Agu, Wilfred Ndidi, Joel Obi, John Ogu, Oghenekharo Etebo, Mikel Obi.

Attackers: Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo and Simy Nwankwo.

oga your analysis is wrong, siting on the bench don't have age restriction, in 1998 ben iroha who was 11 years older was on the bench for baba yaro. if you are not good enough the bench won't help you get better.

how good is this elderson you are guys parading to be better than aina...
is it the one I know....or there is another elderson in the super eagles I don't know of.
a player so good and better than aina...but the best he gets in Europe was a division 2 club in belguim...where he still sits on the bench....

Aina is better than elderson....take that from me.....

you guys clamouring for elderson are doing so...because of experience...that have been useless to even the player....

What do you mean since he can't replace Simon? isn't Simon injured?.

Stop judging Lokosa with the fact that he plays in Nigeria in mind. That's ridiculously unfair.

What happened to his rich vein of form and prolificacy in the NPFL and positive display against DR Congo?

Oga forgiveness i think you have been in this business for so long and you must know better how Nigeria national team selection goes irrespective of coach(foreign or local)

Different interest came into players selection and do not be deceived Rohr must listened to his back room staffs, so what they give him he works with.

I want to tell you that five dropped players from original 35 man list played against Atletico, and one keep on asking why players like Samuel Kalu,Ebere Eze,Peter Olayinka and Ajagun were not called up even if Rohr has seen enough of Nwakaeme,Kayode,Alampasu and Esiti.

Sir this is Nigeria nothing should surprised you,a lot of damn pressure from officials, agents and backroom staffs, bros you should know better,Nigeria factor and it would take an highly discipline coach to succeed.

I remember i was having discussion with Humility017 and i said i know a lot about eagles especially players invitations.

Check Simeon injury issue,an NFF official insisted that Simeon must have another medical check up in London cos he was suspecting conspiracy. This are the pressure a coach face in managing Nigeria national team.

But good things is that Rohr is getting it right by managing the team irrespective of players recommended to him.He gave them the opportunity but if you don't measured up you are out

Sir let's hope for better WC irrespective of players involved cos 2018 w definitely determine 2019 Afcon and 2022 WC.
lmao is this true?

He's by far performed below my expectations. I noticed this long ago but I didn't want to break it here so I wouldn't be tagged a hater. I just hope Idowu keeps producing the Argentina moments and never rest on his laurels. That would make our left back concerns less worrisome irrespective of who is chosen between Aina and Echiejile.

realpoacher:

Let's say Kayode and Ajagun were also part of the 35 man list which included kelechi Nwakali, would you know?

If Rohr didn't give us this info today about Nwakali, would you know?

The 4 other players that made the number up to 35 have not been revealed and we won't know until it is revealed. But the point is that, those 5 names were removed and the list pruned down to 30 by Rohr. If it was a 35 man list that was released, then i am certain that Kayodo's name will be on it.

I will bet that apart from kayode, Ajagun, Henry Onyeakuru, and either Peter Olayinka or Kalu will be in that 35 man list.

Why the hue and cry?... Why the fuss?....

Isn't it obvious that Rohr found all the extra 5 names surplus to the teams requirements? undecided which is simply an indication that this 5 extra players didn't measure up to the names in the first 30?

What is your problem?

Kayode is a Top 9.. Compare him to the top 9 will have in the team... Ighalo, Iheanacho, Simy and see that he doesn't come anywhere close to any of these 3.

Ighalo club career goals = 100
National team career goals = 4

Iheanacho club career goals = 15
National team career goals including youth teams = 16

Simy club career goals = 56
No national team experience yet

Kayode club career goals = 45
National team career goals including youth teams = 4

Let it be known to you that Kayode played U17 in 2009 = 0 goals
He played U20 teams in 2011 & 2013 = 4 goals
He played u23 = 0 goals
Super Eagles 4 caps = 0 goals

Is this the kind of blunt striker that you are selling to us?... Is this the kind of wasteful striker that you are trying to force down our throats?... undecided

The only person in direct competition to him is Iheanacho but let it be known to you that Iheanacho a younger teen to kayode is far more clinical than kayode. Iheanacho excelled in the same youth team where kayode failed during his time. Iheanacho took his opportunity with both hands when club and country came calling, so there is actually no basis here for comparison.

Give it a rest already as kayode is the same league of Ideye(another very blunt striker) and Nwankweam tongue

Kayode is a FLOP!.. Kayode is a BIG FLOP!!... I repeat.. KAYODE IS A BIG FLOP,!,!!
God bless you realpoacher. This is an answer, very factual rebuttal to forgiveness' claims. You did excellently well and I must say this is a benchmark response. Not that when a person has nothing to say he will just engage in ad hominem attacks.

What Rohr said gave forgiveness something to grasp(personally I don't even see any issues with Nwakali being in the 35 man list) and accuse the coach of corruption but I am happy you have answered him very capably.

Pls is Idowu better than Echiejile of 2010-2014?NO

The issue now is we are having Echiejile who has lost form to the level that we don't have options than to stick with any available option.

Idowu of today is not better than Echiejile of 2014 talk less of Aina

On NPFL players better than Aina, yes we have them just like in any other positions in eagles but technically they are not better.

I have a friend Sunday Johnson playing for Kwara United in late 90s and only outfield home based player to make Sydney 2000 Olympics football team. This guy is a baller and one of the two home based players always getting invitation under coach Thijs Librecjth.

This guy was better than Finidi and Tijani combined, fast and highly skilled. He went to Ajax trial and was successful but failed medical. When he came back he said o boy i know nothing about football, am just talented but technically am zero.

This is the problem with NPFL players and our coaches are not helping matter in their development.

I watched Cara of Congo against Enyimba live and i cry for Nigeria league, what a terrible displayed by Enyimba.

i saw CHAN LB and Fly eagles captain Ikwuonmen and i shook my head, not yet there, good option for him is to go to Europe and start developing but seeing him in NPFL again next year, is like talents going into extinction.

i respect your wright up, very objective and full of wisdom, Echiejile was obviously better than idowu and Aina in 2014. both Echiejile and Aina are truly poor now but one have more experience and exposure in football.

is it better we take the poor and less experience guy for back up or take poor but well experience guy for back...is very easy

on the NPL players, i once said here football is more of the raw skill and talent which is about 60% then the technical knowledge 20% more hardwork to improve 20%

why can't we help improve the best talent for that troublesome position we are having in the national team. i remember watching ibenegbu(mosquito) in Heartland, very wonderful midfielder and we were struggling for a number 10 in the national team.

travelling abroad does not automatically make you a good player it only improve you

I am so ashamed of some folks here...crying nepotism.....
so rohr is now an ibo man or even a Yoruba...or Hausa...
so true that common sense is never common.
if one of the three major ethnic groups could cry of being marginalized in the super eagles how about..... other minority ethnic groups like the edos, benue indigenes and lots more in the super eagles...?
the last time I checked there is no edo man or even enang man in the nff or in the coaching crew....so how do players like Ighalo, ebuehi and troost keep getting call ups....
?

the truth is you cannot hide competence.... rohr is not blind If you're good...you're good.. no tribal sentiments can hide your shine....

only a tribal personified person will cry of nepotism in the current super eagles set up....
it is so annoying that some elders here...are buying this tribalism stew served by oga forgiveness.
he should be ignored...please.
