This is the best pre world cup preparations ever, in terms of funds support and everything..... This boys just have to do us proud no excuse

Unfortunately, this may be our toughest group ever.

I'm really worried about our ability to survive that group.

2 or more similar players to every position right. Question is, who is closest to Mikel & let me say iwobi in terms of ball movement, positioning, passing range etc.
I really don't think that anyone will lay a claim that he has truly watched Kelechi 90 mins week in week out in his club. Apart from oh he is not making the team story. We really don't know why he was not making the team. Mikel was on the bench for half a season in Chelsea, but was he a bad player, hell no. In comparison also in d mix is Ajagun. I have watched him play, he is not different to iwobi, one touch passing, but he doesn't know the dark art of drawing fouls to calm d game.
Truth still remains that its 23 players, and every country has the same problem. From France to England to Germany and Argentina. This is our team, let's support them.

you really know what you are talking about, ajagun is very similar to iwobi

The person no get name. I don hear Nwokolor, I don hear Ayotunde of Rijeka, all na wash. This season is zero for them, so which GK be that.

nobody can satisfy us, if you like bring pep gaudiola

ROHRS 25 MAN LIST IS OUT.
TRIVIA QUESTION?
1) Like to like, who do you think should not be in the list & mention who the replacement should be with verifiable facts.
Note: it doesn't matter if the person was in the initial 30 man list or not.

Time starts now.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 12:20pm On May 30, 2018
I never implied that. What is bad is that those who are also deserving should be giving a chance. I know stats is not everything, but players will ask questions why they are not still getting a call up despite their relatively better performances at the club level. Well hopefully after the World Cup things will change for the better.
Martz101:

how is a youngster being in a 35 man list a bad system or how is your assistant having a say in your selection bad system.

don't you watch football matches, don't you see great managers consulting with there assistant before making change or decisions

do you think Nigeria is paying those assistant to just sit beside him and watch

The Super Eagles have four game changers, save one who is not going to the mundial with them and they are Mikel Obi, Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Moses, Henry Onyekuru.

Let's say Kayode and Ajagun were also part of the 35 man list which included kelechi Nwakali, would you know?

If Rohr didn't give us this info today about Nwakali, would you know?

The 4 other players that made the number up to 35 have not been revealed and we won't know until it is revealed. But the point is that, those 5 names were removed and the list pruned down to 30 by Rohr. If it was a 35 man list that was released, then i am certain that Kayodo's name will be on it.

I will bet that apart from kayode, Ajagun, Henry Onyeakuru, and either Peter Olayinka or Kalu will be in that 35 man list.

Why the hue and cry?... Why the fuss?....

Isn't it obvious that Rohr found all the extra 5 names surplus to the teams requirements? undecided which is simply an indication that this 5 extra players didn't measure up to the names in the first 30?

What is your problem?

Kayode is a Top 9.. Compare him to the top 9 will have in the team... Ighalo, Iheanacho, Simy and see that he doesn't come anywhere close to any of these 3.

Ighalo club career goals = 100
National team career goals = 4

Iheanacho club career goals = 15
National team career goals including youth teams = 16

Simy club career goals = 56
No national team experience yet

Kayode club career goals = 45
National team career goals including youth teams = 4

Let it be known to you that Kayode played U17 in 2009 = 0 goals
He played U20 teams in 2011 & 2013 = 4 goals
He played u23 = 0 goals
Super Eagles 4 caps = 0 goals

Is this the kind of blunt striker that you are selling to us?... Is this the kind of wasteful striker that you are trying to force down our throats?... undecided

The only person in direct competition to him is Iheanacho but let it be known to you that Iheanacho a younger teen to kayode is far more clinical than kayode. Iheanacho excelled in the same youth team where kayode failed during his time. Iheanacho took his opportunity with both hands when club and country came calling, so there is actually no basis here for comparison.

Give it a rest already as kayode is the same league of Ideye(another very blunt striker) and Nwankweam tongue

Kayode is a FLOP!.. Kayode is a BIG FLOP!!... I repeat.. KAYODE IS A BIG FLOP,!,!!

What is Nwakali doing on the 35 man list ahead of players that did better than him? Answer.

Dey deceive yourself say those players were on the 35 man list?

Your stats is fake.

Simy scored 0 goal in 15 matches the first season in the Portuguese first division eventhough he played as a striker.

In his second season, he scored 7 goals in 30 matches and he started 24-26 matches as a striker too.

In Serie A, 3 goals in 21 matches as a striker in his first season and 7 goals in 23 matches as a striker.

Most of his goals were scored in the second division of the Portuguese league. GBAM.

His stats is not good enough.

Look at Kayode's stats. He was played as a SS in the la Liga.

Today Kayode is up Lokosa, tomorrow against Simy, now na against Iheanacho? shocked

Iheanacho and Ighalo making the list is not a question but Simy is never in the level of Kayode. Fact

Though Iheanacho's record in the EPL is not good enough but we know he is not a striker. He's best as a SS. Fact

You claimed Kayode was blunt in the Under age grade?lies.

How many goals did Iheanacho and Ighalo scored in the U20.

Abeg, Kayode is not the focal point of discussion.

The koko is how did Nwakali managed to enter 35 man list through the back door?

There is a 20% chance that we'll survive that group. We might be one of the first casualties in that group.

But if we do, then I'll be surprised. I'm been really sincere here. Our recent friendlies hasn't inspired much confidence in me. I mean, 3 games where we could hardly create chances. Yet, some peeps think we would somehow miraculously enter beast mode in the World cup, citing the 1998 team (who had obviously better individual talent).

In asmuch as I'm pained writing this, we should severely lower our expectations of this team so that our high hopes aren't dashed.

In as much as I see Kayode as a surplus requirement to this team, I don't see him as a flop. He just has better talented players to contend with.

If it were 4years ago he would have made Keshi's 30man list at least.

Be deceiving yaself with surplus to requirement.

Simy is never better statistically speaking.

What do one expect from someone who criticized the inclusion of Ogbeche and he is now satisfied with Simy on the list?

Greetings my fellow intelligent, well mannered, incredible and gallant eagulian.

Please I need your assistance, I wish to be a football agent and I want to get the FIFA license as agent and need the steps to make my agency registered and legit and need to know more about what it takes to achieve this in Nigeria as I am currently in Lagos but will not mind travelling around different states to find young talents. I have few contacts with some clubs in Ukraine Volyn Lutsk, Metallist Kharkov and Dnipro Dnepropetrovsk. I can start from there. Planning on starting with #5 million naira, it is small but for a start.

My people will be expecting your mentions on this our thread

3 friendlies without Mikel, some no Moses.

If you are fearing for us, what of Argentina that collected 6 from Spain and 4 from us without Messi? Imagine someone breaks Messi's leg. Shouldn't Argentina be as scared as us?

If we have 20% chance of leaving that group, Argentina should have no more than 25% chance, Iceland 20% and Croatia 20% too.

Sir,Osas Okoro?cos all this while am looking at you.It was based on your recommendation that i needed to watch WAFU and later CHAN may be i will see better Osas but NO.

On Aina,i saw him in Chelsea some season ago and impressed but in national team not really impressed,am indifferent if Echiejile or Aina makes it even i don't see Idowu has better option cos he is not better than Echiejile of 2010-2014 but for now Echiejile has lost it.

Aina is not playing in his natural position.

If this were to be Facebook , I for don censor posts from Forgiveness since last year but is quite unfortunate that I don't have that privilege on Nairaland.

How can one average player omission from the World Cup list be so much important than the team Itself?
What Forgiveness is doing is Annoying, I wish I can control what I want to see on this thread.

The worldcup is not for development of players

In 2006, Messi did not go to the World Cup as a key player but as a promising talent. It was a development phase of the young man.

I PRAY THAT;
1. Simmy Nwankwo does not turn out to be one Barthelomew Ogbeche we saw during Japan/ Korea 2002 who deceived Baba Onigbinde by an acrobatic freekick in a friendly game only for later at the world to fumble when we needed him the most.
2. No more Super Eagle player get injured before, during and after the world cup. Just think how Moses Simon will be feeling now.
3. The best players were not dropped and the mediocres selected because the formers' C.Vs were not rich enough. Hope we dont later regret why we didnt take Lokosa, Ajiboye, Kelechi Nwakali, Samuel Kalu, Henry Onyekuru, Kayode Olarewaju etc.
4. Super Eagles visit to Aso rock will usher in the TRANSFORMATION... Sorry (beg your pardon), CHANGE we need for the good of Nigerian football.
5. Super Eagles get to the Semi finals of the World cup. Nothing is impossible.
6. Mikel Agu is dropped and that Rohr makes up is mind on who to drop between Ola Aina and Chidozie Awaziem
7. NFF will not make Russia 2018 a jamboree affair and that players will be paid promptly
8. Amaju Pinnick will be elected back into office in November. He's done so well.
9. If Super Eagles do well at Russia 2018, Bubu will not embarass them with only a presidential handshake.
GOD BLESS ROHR
GOD BLESS SUPER EAGLES
GOD BLESS NIGERIA
