Launna29: His permanent residence derived from? What sort of visa/passport does your husband hold? You don't require IELTS. Does you husband have all documentations required? Does he meet the financial requirements? Does either of you, have all logs? Do you have marriage registry certificate? |

Yes we have a marriage certificate. He has indefinite leave to remain. He earns over 22,000 pounds a year. We have his statements and pay slips. Proof of address. What other documents do we need? Thank you |

Many thanks to everybody that's contributed to this thread one way or the other. I've been a silent observer but I must confess, its been a tough journey but in the end, God is good. I applied for my spouse visa (standard) Feb, 22 2017. Got refused October 26, 2017 with a right to appeal. I appealed November 2017 and finally got the mail to resubmit my passport May 24 2018 after winning the appeal without going to the tribunal. I have since submitted my passport last Thursday and here I am waiting again... Dunno how long I'd have to wait again but I'm in good spirit. 1 Like |

Please be advised. I did my biometrics today in Abuja TLS centre and the queue was ungodly. Many of us entered around 8am and didn't leave until 4pm. They said that the system was down plus public holiday so everything was just mad in there. Secondly, they asked us to bring a photocopy of our passport plus the appointment confirmation and application form. Nobody told me about the need for photocopy before I went so I'm letting you guys know now so you won't be forced to leave your place in the queue. 4 Likes |

Hi all! Is it compulsory to attach a court marriage certificate to spouse visa application? Also how long after a court marriage can one submit their application? I and my husband just got married a month ago(church and trad) and we were unable to do court marriage before he went back to UK for work. Now he wants to come in just so we can do the court marriage and then I can apply for the visa immediately after. Also, I am presently in the UK and would be applying for my visa from abuja. Should I just leave all my documents with my husband instead of taking them back? And will they accept a TB certificate done here in UK? Sorry for all the questions Please any info will help. Many thanks. |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Osinachi1290: 5:04am On Jun 01, 2018 |
Dremzz: No, you do not need to attach a court marriage certificate. We wedded only in church and had trad too. No need for him to come back for a court marriage. Leave all documents with him, he will be posting them to Sheffield. It's always easier and safer to post from within the UK. I don't know about a TB test done in the UK. Maybe others can help you on that. All I know is that there are approved TB centres for every country you are applying from. I did mine at Abuja. Good luck |

Dremzz: Best do it in Nigeria, someone commented on another thread that a friend was denied a tier 2 visa cause did the TB in the UK just yesterday. Third or fourth comment in this thread https://www.nairaland.com/4158866/living-uk-life-uk-immigrant/27 |

So after 3 failed visitor visas, we FINALLY SAW A SHINY STAMP YESTERDAY! Applied on 31st March 2018 (priority) Biometric 9th April Documents sent to Sheffield on 23rd April Application being prepared for consideration mail 25th April Emailed asking for an update on 24th May. A reply came back saying that a decision had been made. Documents sent back on 25th May Went to TLS Ikeja to see if the passport was there on 30th May. They said it's still at the High Commission. Passport ready for pick up mail 30th May No decision made mail sent officially from UKVI Decision made 17th May Passport picked up 31st May 36 working days after biometric. There was so much public holidays to endure!!! What made me worry was that: 1. My contract for my job expired in July, but they renewed it for another year AFTER I submitted. I wrote a letter of assurance (saying that I will look for another job etc) to cover my back. However, I am guessing they called my work place to find out they renewed my contract. 2. I lost one payslip, and I could not get another copy so I wrote a letter explaining why this payslip was not there and asked them to look at my bank statement AND what my work place added in a table showing my income. 3. My documents came back in a different envelope. Oh the paranoia thinking I have upset them and they might reject us because the envelope I sent them was too small. Yes, I was thinking like that.... Overall, I would say if there a small omissions, cover your back with a letter, and point it to other bits of evidence to back yourself up. We are so grateful for the sound advice though! We went through EVERYTHING on this forum. Producing a table of income was a brilliant idea that we got from here (as I had variable income from 2 sources). Thank you all once again!!! May you all experience good news too!!!! I celebrate with you all in advance! 2 Likes |
