As for dentist. You could ask a doctor around to refer you to one. Dem dey always sabi themselves.

RCT is an expensive procedure especially in private practices. >40k I think.

I just did mine a couple of days back, and it went flawlessly! I only felt 'pain' when the needle pierced my gum to deliver analgesic.

After that, I was still expecting the worst when suddenly, the Dentist said "okay, we are done!"

I looked in the mirror and bingo; no pain!

Imagine the fear that gripped me initially, when I saw those drill bits...abi na when dem wan insert needle down my gum to do xray? All these went on smoothly.

Today, I have the temporary tooth cap, to return for the permanent one in a couple of weeks!

Root canal = 30k
Capping = 40k
Note that this is HMO price...and that was VICTORIA ISLAND!

Root canals are painless or come with very minimal pain. If there is pain, would be due to an existing infection not the root canal itself. I guess that's why dentists typically want to address the infection before the root canal. The name is associated with pain but it's actually not painful.

Had one some years back....felt nothing during the process, got pain killers handed over just in case I needed them later on. Took one dose pre-empting lots of pain but didn't need it.

As long as it's done in a good place, you are fine. Good dentists don't even want you feeling pain during an extraction.

General hospital in Lagos is 20k

depends on the city, from as low as 10k to as high as 50k. But remember that if it's a posterior tooth the tooth would require a crown to prevent it from breaking in future. The crowning is usually more expensive than the root canal itself. Budget 100k but I can refer u to someone in the abuja/nassarawa axis
