kprake9: hi sorry Bro.... did you submit a cover letter explaining why you want to visit the UK?? I think if you have explained that in a cover letter the ECO would have issued the visa because as it is now he/she doesn't have anything against you, just that you didn't mention where and when the conference is taken place and your own plan after the conference maybe you will visit some tourists site after the event... pls this is just my own thought oooo, justwise, ekpotek, Chloe, bigbus and other gurus of these house will do justice to the letter... |

iapt:You don’t need to cancel the appointment, the ukvi do not share info with the US. My first ever visa application was US and I was refused, after which I have had a German visa and three uk visas without mentioning my US refusal in all the applications. Work on other aspects of the application. Good luck 1 Like 1 Share |

Good day house. Please I'm new on nairaland. Someone introduced me to this thread after I made some very expensive mistakes in my visa application. I've gone through the thread and I must say I regret not knowing about it earlier. I would appreciate if the experienced guys in the house can put me through on a few things so I don't make any more costly mistakes. I was recently refused entry clearance for a Tier 2 visa. I lost 10 points under English language proficiency. Apparently I took the wrong IELTS exam, didn't know there's an IELTS General and IELTS general for ukvi. I have taken IELTS general for ukvi and I'm confident of the outcome, expecting results Monday or Tuesday next week. I intend to reapply for my Tier 2 visa immediately my IELTS results are out. I have a few questions. 1. Can I use the priority service (5 working days processing) considering my visa category and my recent history of visa refusal? Someone told me she paid priority and it still took 15 working days so she doesn't think priority works for Tier 2 visas. I also read a statement on the TLS website that suggested that those with previous refusals may still take 15 working days even if they pay for priority. There was no refusal stamp on my passport, does this apply to me? Im thinking of using priority because I don't want to shift my resumption date again, I've done that twice already. At the same time I don't want to waste money on priority if it won't work for my case. I've lost a lot of money on my first application already. 2. Is there a way I can fast track my IHS refund, I learnt it takes 28 days, not sure if its 28 days or 28 working days. Or alternatively, if I can't fast track the IHS refund is there a way to make use of it in my new application without necessarily getting a refund. Thanks. cc justwise ekpotek |

My brother, I practically did all of that. I did a cover letter stating the program, date and venue. I also attached a letter in respect to the program. Pls find the attached letter. quote author=alert20 post=68050807] hi sorry Bro.... did you submit a cover letter explaining why you want to visit the UK?? Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ekpotek: 5:45pm On May 31, 2018 |
kprake9: Sorry for your refusal. From the refusal letter, you failed to provide an invitation letter signed by the organizer. What you have posted does not in anyway represent an invitation. Anyone can login and register and get this invite. Do you have other email communication with the organizer? Also you stated that you intend to spend 10 days, whereas the event is just for 2 days. Did you explain to the ECO what you will be doing in the UK for the remaining 8 days? If you intend to reapply you need to provide more documentation about the event and a detail itinerary of the visit. 2 Likes |

eyzeberg: Oh great! I am waiting i had my biometrics taken on the 10th of may at abuja and 15 working days will be tomorrow i suppose. I called and i was told that they'd get back to me tomorrow or on monday. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ekpotek: 5:49pm On May 31, 2018 |
Okuhoc: The information from TLS is advisory. You can go ahead and pay for priority it’s your money. However, wether you will get a decision within 5 days is another story. If you can address the reasons for the refusal, which just to submit the appropriate IELTS test scores, you may get a decision sooner than you think, priority or no priority. You IHS was based on a previous application, which cannot be access and use in a new application. If you need the money, to reapply then you have to wait for it, otherwise pay for the IHS. |

I collected my passport this afternoon with my visa in Abuja. My biometrics was 7th of May. My 6 months visa granted. However, this is my 3rd UK visa. Please house, what is the maximum one can stay in the UK without having issues during the next renewal. I wrote 2 weeks in my application but i intend staying longer this time. Can one stay up to 2 months without having issues. Pls, someone with 1st hand information. Thanks |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ekpotek: 7:40pm On May 31, 2018 |
kprake9: Be careful. The organizers should be able to sent you a formal invitation for visa spouse. You need to demand a formal invitation. UKVI will not accept anything else. Find out if this event is genuine. There a lot of bogus event organizers riping money from unsuspecting attendees. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ekpotek: 7:44pm On May 31, 2018 |
emeldamicheals: Obviously be ready to expect issues in your next application if you stayed beyond at most 3 weeks. If you really want to stay beyond 2 weeks, declare it in on landing card and defend it at POE. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by emeldamicheals: 8:58pm On May 31, 2018 |
Thanks for ur response. I will try not to exceed one month. Since, i hv a valid US visa. Can i stay a month in UK. Travel to US. Stay maybe one week and come back to UK and stay another one month b4 returning home. Is this viable? Obviously be ready to expect issues in your next application if you stayed beyond at most 3 weeks. If you really want to stay beyond 2 weeks, declare it in on landing card and defend it at POE. Pls take note : I was not requested to pay money to attend the program. It's a free to attend exhibition in London. I also understand you are just required to register to gain access to the program. But if it is becoming an issue, I don't know if it's advisable to reapply for tourist purpose alone. Pls I will appreciate ur urgent response. quote author=ekpotek post=68061200] Q Be careful. emeldamicheals: Yes. Every thing depends on POE. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ekpotek: 9:35pm On May 31, 2018 |
kprake9: You will not get a visa, without a proper invitation letter, that I know. This event is suitable for attendees with existing visa or in country attendees. Now changing your intention to an ordinary visit will raise a red flag and disperation on your part. I would suggest you give it some time before you apply again. |

ekpotek:Thanks for your response. Maybe I will use priority and pray very hard. The earlier I start work the faster I can recoup all the money I have wasted. Thanks again. Thanks |

Hello everyone I need experts to predict what will about about a baby sis visa application she actually applied for settlement visa and her dad is British and when he's applying for his citizenship by naturalisation he included the girls name and the girl is even his next of kin and the girl did IELTS Test and even submitted her tuberculossis test result and her dad submitted loads of docs too But the point now is she never submitted DNA test result tho everyone believed that a paternity test gotten from an unrecognised hospital will be seen as void and we couldn't get any hospital recognised by the home office and loads of mail was sent to the British embassy just to be sure of the hospital to visit but they never replied to and in the course of applying all the mails they never responded to was printed and submitted with the application But a birth certificate gotten 5 years back From NPC and her dad's name was included in the certificate and some pictures snapped years back was also included Does she stand a chance She will be getting a response in few weeks time but everyone is just anxious And she's not yet 18 but close to 18 cc: justwise ekpotek bigbus |
