Never doubt the story cos I served in Kano. Local govt usually pay salaries in cash, they share it like food. They even pay the handicapped both deafs and cripples and it's usually paid around 17th to 25th of every month. After the disbursement the offices gets deserted until the next pay day.

all of you shouting north north, its same everywhere of the federation, as at 2010 in Alimosho lga Lagos, some still receive by cash, as at 2013 in Oruk Anam(No bank) lga Akwa Ibom, staff receives cash. The lga chairmen of Abak and Oruk anam lives in Uyo and only show up by month end or during emergency, their office is always closed.

If you have been to those rural areas in kebbi state you will know that transfer is almost impossible.They pay their staffs cash.infact they pay them on a queue.I served in Fakai LG Kebbi state and that is how payment is been done coz most staffs dont even have an account number.

That's cool to know but obviously it's not the best way to pay salaries.
Stories might crip in one day

In this day and age, they still withdraw money to pay workers' salary. How about paying directly into their accounts? Well, if they had to pay into the workers' accounts, they'll not be able to steal the money and claim it was robbed.
