Haven't you heard?... Training performance is different from match day performance!

Performance in training can be highly deceptive

Agreed

Lets face harsh reality we are not going to use cohesive passing to outplay teams , but the 4-4-2 option gives us the possibilty to buly our way through matches with Ighalo and Simi.

To form the new "Simghalo" partnership!!!

The bullying job is undisputedly with Joel Obi. He should sleep in a Russia bed.

2 CF can play in a 4-4-2

That is what Boss Icon4s is saying. You can play two center forwards but one of them has to offer mobility and creativity. So Iheanacho is the better option to pair one of the natural center forwards we have.

I don't see Ogu being dropped. Agu is the one likely to be dropped.

If Ogu doesn't kick ball versus England. he is one of the two to be dropped.
Besides of he kicks ball and underperforms, then he will go.
Rohr likes Agu and Joel too much.

Abeg, we can call it sentiments or whatever, for the life of me let Ogu taste WC abeg ooo. Na beg I dey beg. Mikel Agu is still young and can make 2022 cos after now both Ogu and Onazi will likely drop out of the SE set up and thus create space for him in the midfield.

i remember keshi dropping Ogu too in 2014. Onazi is just 25, i don't see him dropping out of super eagles after worldcup if Nigeria and him do well there

Mikel agu was called to replace Mikel in london after mikel withdrew from the friendly, Mikel was not invited originally

He was not on the original list because of passport issues.

Nobody runs away from this fact. It's a mute point. We are looking at effectiveness and the best position for him not whether he starts or not. Iwobi starting or not starting is not an issue for me particularly now that S. Moses is probably out of contention. The quality of his play is my concern. Till date you've not convinced me that Iwobi is effective on the wings. You just keep saying he is a starter. Starting is not gold. Effectiveness is. His career prospects, our WC prospects hinges not on whether he starts but on his effectiveness. No coach ever buys a player because he is a starter. Effectiveness is the premium quality coaches look for.

Once again proof to us that Iwobi is effective from the wings.

when you guys keep saying iwobi is not good in the wings it makes me laugh

these same people will say we don't have a number 10, abeg does it mean iwobi don't have a wing??

The truth Is or else you play a 4-4-2 you actually don't really require a true winger that sill need to connect with the 2 forward.

we play 4-2-3-1 just like iwobi team arsenal, when you play that formation, the 3 guys behind the lone striker interchange at some time and also go forward to assist the long striker, they are not really wingers. in arsenal you will see players like Ozil,Mkhitaryan and iwobi playing there...they are all potential number 10 and non is a true winger.

Jose mourinho adopted that same style in chelsea playing the likes of Hazard,Willian and Oscar behind a striker, non is a true winger

TIA. So your objective and non emotive stance is not about nwakali but the system. One that should invite tega, ovie and seyi over nwakali for the athletico game..... Am I getting you right.

Secondly you mean nwakali would find it easy to get a work permit and walk into the arsenal team better than tega for Liverpool onomah for Tottenham and seyi wherever he is, rather than been loaned across Europe? Please elucidate, I want to learn.

And also care to explain how I am now a bigot and also prejudiced? Especially over you?

Getting into European youth academy football is easier for a Nigerian youth international than an innit boy. You made the proposition that it's much harder for boys coming from Nigeria to get into football than boys here.

The branding of Nigerian youth international will open doors for you in Europe unlike Nigeria origin players coming from local clubs in England.

The case of Ademola Lookman comes to mind from Sunday football to EPL player within 3 years. Invited by Nigerian age grade but not followed through. England then got him.

Who do you then blame

It's bigotry to create division in the negative between what you define as Nigerian. You dismissed by substance and intent by excluding Nigerian origin players as being not Nigerian.

The same rhetoric is behind tribalism and racism.

That's why I termed it bigotry. Do you understand my position now.

I've known Tega since he was 15 at Tottenham and he had to prove himself over many years. The same goes for Ovie who left Arsenal for Liverpool, Seyi was different he came to Liverpool at 14 with a £1.8 million price tag. Last season Newcastle put in a bid for £10 million Liverpool refused.

Nwakali is not an expensive investment for Arsenal it's a speculative one. He has been sent out on loan to prove his potential, sadly and unfortunately he has remained anonymous in the much lower Dutch leagues. That essentially means he has not justified the investment. When a player goes on loan if he performs his value and rating go up if he does not they go down.

Consider Tega Abrahams I've known him for quite a long time too. One season in the Championship and his value sky rocketed. Easy access to the EPL now he is wanted by several EPL clubs even after the relegation of Swansea.

How many Eredivisie clubs tried to buy Nwakali question ❓how many asked for a loan move ❓ Almost none why Is Rohr and the NFF the only ones that can see his esteemed talent. Na only dem get eye.

I refer you to a previous post where I gave countless examples of former youth players that cost huge money now playing non league in England.

Considering all these variables do you still hand on heart ♥ honestly think that we are talking about Exceptional Talent For a 20 year old player.

In reality if Nwakali had been outstanding in the Eredivisie, became the stand out player. It would be possible using exceptional talent proviso to get a work permit for him. He would then be playing for Arsenal or some other top club. But as it stands the possibility of him ever playing for Arsenal is near impossible.

The only way his career can progress is on the back of national team selection.

This is a 5 star comment.

They would rather put Iwobi on the bench and wait for Mikel to get tired before bringing him in.

Which of the other wingers is more effective than Iwobi on the wings?

Besides, I don't think you have described Iwobi's AM abilities better than I have done here.
To me it's not whether he is more effective than the other wingers and in fact I consider Simon better than him. My point is that I see him having potential to be far more effective playing from the middle.

This long story is an evasion of the truth. How many Nigerian internationals are playing in English youth academies compared to the innit boys. I bet it would be of ratio of 100 innit boys to one Nigerian International. Yet you are trying to sell that the Nigerian internationals have advantage.

The England game is a friendly. We are probably going to make 6 subs. Who are we going to bring in in the 2nd half? Not starting a player does not necessarily mean they are inferior to the starters. Friendlies are still test matches. Iwobi didn’t even score against Argentina until the second half. And who says we can’t bring him immediately after half time.

Matches like this will help us decide who to start in a more serious match like Croatia. I won’t be surprised if we switched formations at some point in the match. Let the experiment continue. But the boys need to show that they have been playing together for quite a while.

I thought he did well but overly impressed no I was not , for national team selection I expect more. He scored but I looked at his over all play in the match as well.

I was impressed by the sub that came on and showed impressive composure and vision to score after darting round three players to score.
