and some of them are spoiling the name of Nigeria out there, not trying to discredit Igbos, no doubt they work hard but I've just stated the obvious truth, most of them are spoiling our name outside of Nigeria..

I've been to almost 20 out of the 53 countries in Africa, in each country when I introduce myself as a Nigerian there will be one person to tell me a story about a Nigerian guy around that neighborhood that has done something bad and the names that pops up are names from the East.
it's sad.

I had this mindset and I still have it:

I feel each one of them is trying to extort you.

baba mi
if i talk , someone will say i am talking jargons , even our leaders in Nigeria are continually daily pulling their families out of naija despite the fact that they have all billions to live a comfortable life in Nigeria , ironically someone who isnt up to their standards will now be saying naija is ok .
baba make i kuku just dey watch

Baba, make i add something small. Lots of our naija people believe living well all balls down to having millions. But then there is more to that. The truth is things are cheaper in naija compare to other African countries but how will you enjoy those things you buy cheap when you don't have clean portable water running from your tap without sinking a borehole, electricity without you fueling a generator set, free and quality basic education (at least for Primary and secondary school level), free or insurance supported healthcare, well constructed & pothole free roads and reliable, well behaved, well equipped, & non-abusive security system.
Why do you think the elites and the rich in naija always give their spouses and kids the privilege of dual citizenship? If its all about the money and cheap things, they already have more than enough but they know the difference when common social amenities are luxury in naija.

As for me, i have always entered naija my country as a foreigner since 2007. it wasn't even as worse as this then but what do i know.... SHALOM

How is the place like and what are the businesses that gives better money there and is it true that US dollar bills is used there?
The country is peaceful, cooperative, liveable and everything is cheap here.

It depends. their are lot of business that will fetch you good money.

Majority of Nigerians here are into electronic materials, auto parts, pharmacy, phone accessories and these aba pans

They're making a enough profit...they will buy a item of 400naira in Nigeria and sell it to the Liberians for 10us which is 3660naira

Their money is valuable than naira..very shameful.

They easily use USD even their government charge with America dollar...you can bring out rate board in front of your shop.

The current rate now is 142liberty to 1us.

She sent me a screenshot of the alerts she got lo and behold it's still a name from the Eastern part

But I will make a point clear that the salary is relatively poor only private class is the way out. I was in Niger teaching maths in an a level school at ilupeju Lagos and I was earning even bigger than my current salary but what I make from private class here in Gambia is *4....my Niger salary put together... Let me have your CV please.

An afonja like you will keep been smelly. All you have been trying to do is to turn this beautiful thread into an e-war. Tell me how it is possible to have the name of a hacker on a mobile transfer description. Do start what you can't finish when it eventually starts. Afonja be guided

Bros you are funny ooo.

Any country you get to try and understand the purchasing power of their currency before coming into conclusion.

Naira has more value than Cedis.

1 Cedis = 80 naira

Now let me tell you this 1 cedis will buy 5 Sachets of pure water while 80 naira will buy 8 Sachets of pure water. This is just a very basic down to ground example.

See most of us here dont understand a lot of things. What most of other countries have are electricity, Security and good road. But when it comes to survival especially in terms of cost of living and economy... it is a different case. I advice all the tins the experienced pple have been saying here lets keep them very well and lets make our research very well before taking any decision.
Guys have been talking about skills... make sure the skill is in high demand in the country you are relocating to... and know that its not going to be easy at first but perseverance will help you get there.

Finally, many of us bashing Nigeria dont need to... see it is until you get out that you will understand how great Nigeria is. Its very easy for people to criticize, condemn because of their situations but lets be realistic with ourselves... there is no condition that is permanent.. its just a function of the mind. If you believe you will make it in Nigeria and work towards it you will surely make it. And if you wish to get out and hustle outside the country pls do your research very well so as not to worsen your situation.

Thanks

Ur post is among d few I've seen dat make sense here, majority of d rest are just plain stupid, full of deceit, lies and propaganda

Wat will it cost dem to say tins as dey are, no wonders loys of nigerians are stranded in monst countries cus people lik dem misled dem to believe life outside niaja is heaven on earth

Well, it's their choice to live a wasted life I

Let's leave them

When I'm in Ghana, I can walk about freely in Cape coast and most parts of Accra even at 1 am.
police in plain clothes accosted me and we're polite and professional, they noticed I was a new face in the TV Africa/SSNIT axis (onatisi you should know that angle na) and wanted to know what I was up to
once that was clear, I left without losing anythihg
Will SARS or Nigerian police treat you in such manner

When I'm in CIV, even a place like carrefou koweit that may seem dangerous, there are street lights at every corner and security
All you need to do is ti raise alarm

What even shocked me the most is that during the election in 2016, it was done the exact way it is done in America.
no soldiers every where, no public holiday, just goto your polling unit when you are free withinthe day and cast your vote.
And when the result was announced (the incumbent lost) there was no shout if going to tribunal or the other rubbish that happened in Nigeria

And someone will tell me Nigeria is not a CURSED LAND

Not to talk of deux plateau or Cocody, that you will see so many beautiful homes without the repugnant noise, or the overhead ugly tanks

Nigeria will take decades to repair.
Decades is an understatement my brother ...... It will take 5century to fix this ruin of a country

it was that bad fam! I spent two months out there, four slices of bread has been my breakfast itinerary since day one, their food was a no no for me. Buying that bread and cooking Nigerian food was the only way out and I can’t do ”tro tro” so taxi to and fro was the only option.
