Be lying in one corner there. So u no flex as senior.

I was a boarder from jss1 to ss1. I became a day student ss1 second term. And in my school you can only flex as a senior when you're in ss3 and also a boarder. I didn't get the opportunity to do that.

LAST MAN!!!
The Senior shouts.

Then you see all the juniors running faster than a Cheetah.

The last man picks the bucket to fetch water or do whatever the senior wants...

If you never went to a government secondary school boarding ...then you never went to a boarding house.

Boarding house made me the independent woman I am today. it made me not to rely on anyone. I remember how my school mother almost finished my provisions in jss2....chai I couldn't cry. The different punishments, betrayals and so on. #fggc ipetumodu

my neighbour just returned from visiting her eldest daughter in boarding school and it made me remember and reminisce about when I was also in boarding school so here's my experience; I started boarding school in ss1 so I didn't cry when I was being dropped off but I remember feeling alone and small. I tried to ward off stares from other students and act like I actually belonged but before long I realised that I was still a learner when it came to some things so I found succor in being rude and believe me my rudeness got me into uglier situations than out of it. Made friends and my fair share of enemies but guess what? I survived boarding school in Nigeria!

pls share your experiences in boarding schools, what you learned and what you enjoyed most.
6 Years in there, it was pretty cool and crazy at the same time. Hostel life will mould you well

Wow, my FGGCOYO days. I really faced slot. I enjoyed when my cousin was the headgirl in jss1 but after she left I saw hell. Seniors made us their maids in my junior days. My food box was broken several times and provisions stolen. Visiting days was heaven on earth as I had the best food. But I miss those days sha, I was in olabisi house

I am also an old boy of GSSO. Though I was a day student but life in the dorm was tough. That one I can concur. Graduated in 2006, when did you graduate? Do you know Tom Okoro? Sir Chijioke? Please remind me of the others.

If you survived the "second home" in Mayflower school Ikenne, Ogun State. The most rugged hostel you could be at in the school, then you would most likely survive the sambisa forest.

A big S/O to all exmays home and abroad. cool

The road is really rough as Baba Tai would say!!

I drank garri (ooze) until my eyes nearly fell off.

I ate beans (mpo) that had more water than river Niger.

I skipped launch and dinner for fear of fetching water for pantry.

Shout out to all the GCU faithfuls. The moulding of a man starts at the boarding school. If you know, you know.
