Ethnic bigots should learn from this. No recruiter will employ people shouting Afonja or Flaty online to work in a multicultural organization.

Please guys, lets becareful with our net-life (our posts, comments and interests) especially on facebook, twitter and on IG.

You wont believe that 5 months after landing my dream job with an international non-governemntal, within a short while i got along with all my colleagues (both Nigerians and foreigners) especially the admin staff who was part of the recriutment process.

Just yesterday, we got gisting, and she opened up to me that prior to the finalization of my recriutment, she was asked by the HR in the HQ to enter my full names on various social media, to see what my personality was like on the net with key reference to my posts, comments and interests.

I dared to ask her what would have happened if they had issues with my net-life. Guess what her response was; Though you emeged as the best candidate, but we sure would have re-advertised the position because of the sensitivity of the position you were to be recriuted for as we needed only a responsible social medialite which you managed to be.

This shocked me and made me more careful with my social media life. And i vowed to share this with my beloved Nlanders especially job seekers as recriuters now watch-out for what you do on the social media.

Create another account with different name to resolve issues like this. Many persons don't know this that is why they keep posting unnecessary information. Thank you for your exposition

Vacancy!!!

If you are a resident in Benin and ready to work in a British school, then send a pm.

Qualifications. HND, B.Sc, B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Sc.

1. English language
2. Physics
3. Chemistry
4. French
5. Edo language ( benin)
6. Phonetics

Note: you must be a computer literate and you must have your personal laptop with at least 2 years teaching experience
any sensible mind can easily detect that ur so called british school is only but a mushroom sch n a bad place to work because of the postscript in ur advert.
No responsible organisation will plan to use or convert employee's private property for official assignment.
Tell ur sch to buy laptops for teachers.
I am a teacher and I have my official laptop.
I pity for those applying for this job.

story story, how do you want to nab someone on Nairaland who uses a wierd moniker.

Moreso, before you go for any job interview be sure to deactivate all your social media accounts that's if you use your full name to register.

From time to time, go on google search for your phone number used in a CV, or your full name then erase any incriminating history.

If an employer uses Google to fish you out, trust me you are dull!
