Sitting in Anfield watching Brazil give Croatia a football lesson. Up close and personal.

From what I can see WE HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR from Croatia they have no pace.

Our weapon of destruction will be PACE.

Getting in behind them will not be problematic.

We just have to playing game with focus pace skill and good finishing

Brazil is not giving them Croatia any lesson. Don't deceive those who are not watching. The match is 50-50. Croatia is on top of their game.

Lots of you were underrating the English team, calling them average team and all sorts. All the boasts and optimism i saw weeks before yesterday's match have disappeared with many saying that Eagles will not get out of the group.

My switch is personal. I believe they will do well

I'll go with
............... Uzoho

............. Omeruo Ekong Balogun

............ Ebuehi Ndidi Mikel Idowu

................. Iwobi

............... Iheanacho Simy

Moses and Musa should give us options in the bench
I'd like to see one of Etebo and Ogu start. Even the players that ended the match in our midfield and defence should start. to see them once again. And for continuity. They dramatically stabilized the MF

You are biased. Croatia midfield is doing well. Dont be surprised if Croatia beats Brazil. Brazil started with intimidation but Croatia matched them. Brazil will have to pull something out of the bag to beat them.

The Croats are fantastic in this Half. They are very disciplined with Ball Possession, resolute in defence, compact in Midfield and solid in Attack.

Eagles shouldn't be setup tactically to control the Game from the Midfield against them, rather on the Flanks. It will be difficult to beat them with 4 at the back Formation to be candid.

We gonna need to play 3 - 4 - 2 -1 with Simmy spear-heading the Attack - behind him should be Iwobi and Moses with Mikel partnering Ndidi as DMs. Ndidi will be doing the Tackles and Interceptions, while Mikel will be distributing the Ball.

The Pace of Tyrone and Idowu gonna be needed mostly in the Match. They will be making decisive Crosses into the Opposition Box for Simmy to make use of it positively.

Finally Iwobi's creativity and Moses dribbling Skills gonna be needed to unsettle the Midfield and Defence of the Croatia National Team.

I don't think Onazi and Joel are bad players. Yesterday, I will single out Mikel for their poor performance. Even Rohr should know that.

Onazi will start matches for now.

Victor Moses rely too much on his individual skills. He needs to play with the team.
So you see nothing wrong in ONAZI starting matches?

Moses was a shadow of himself ystdy. Dude played below par. Little wonder the team struggled up front ystdy against the 3 lions. With a more mobile and attacking Moses, and a midfield of steel in mikel, ndidi, etebo and john ogu, we should be good to go.
spot on

we never underrated the English team. We were only rallying round our dear super eagles which is what any non-plastic fan ought to do. There's possibility we could have taken a draw or a win out of wembley. Gutted some awful displays from our supposed pros cost us the game.

Coach Gernot Rohr has defended a lethargic performance by Joel Obi against England, revealing the Torino midfielder is not 100% fit.

The Eagles coach also disclosed that besides Brian Idowu, Elderson Echiejile is his other leftback.

“Joel Obi had some problems to get into his game, he is working very hard because he was injured for a few weeks, so he is not fit 100%,” Rohr said.

“He has to work very much, like many other players he’s a little bit heavy.”

The coach further said Elderson is his other leftback besides Russia-based Brian Idowu.

“Idowu did well especially in second half (vs England), he’s fit, he’s quick. But we have also Elderson Echiejile,” he said.

Rohr will today name his final 23 players with two players placed on standby but they will also fly out with the rest of the squad to a training camp in Austria.

brazil was very very lucky there. It would,ve been 1-0 to Croatia. Modric has left the field. Marcelo subbed.

Onazi and Joel are not bad players, although Onazi was terrible yesterday. Every team must have a blend, the lesson here is both Onazi and Joel are not compatible playing together.
Oga, it's not a matter of compatibility. Both of them are only good for the bench. How can a midfielder lack the simple and basic ability to control the ball give decent passes??

One of Onazi's worst games for Nigeria was against Algeria in Uyo. He was caught out of position so many times. I think playing with Ndidi helps him a lot because he was much better against Cameroon.

It also would have ended 6-1 in favour of England but that is football. Nigeria had about 1 good chance and about 5 half chances. Iwobi's brilliance and anticipation gifted Nigeria the goal. He reacted well to slot home. Moses had two shots from the angle. Obi shot rugby style over the bar, Mikel took a good one that was caught. bad communication denied Idowu and Joel another one as the ball sailed between them.

England had loads of shots with Sterling being the biggest culprit. Uzoho parried about two shots in front of his post and they would have been converted by England. Idowu and Balogun blocked some goal bound shots as well. Nigeria will need the luck but they have to work hard to not just defend but create chances and shoot accurately.

I hope Rohr and his crew are watching this match. Croatia is a modified and stronger version of Serbia. Nigeria will have to be very fit and play their best game against them. I hope Onazi and Joel stay in the bench. Croatia is very mobile, contests every ball.

Neymar scored a brilliiiaaaaaant goal.

Croatia are doing quite well - they have issues judging from this game and Peru in dealing with a side that can pass and hold the ball well. However i believed that Croatia were being hyped up but from this much it's obvious that they are quite solid in that they are all working together like a well drilled unit

Bro....I have reduced my expectation on this team.....
let it know.....that the coaches poor judgement cost us should we fail @ the mundial.....

the kind of coach rohr is....is a kind of manager that will see club all through from championship to the epl and refuse to get in New players into his squad all because of loyalty...he will stick to the old boys who brought the club out from relegation...even when some of them have lost it...and that will eventually cost him his job.....

I just feel for him...probably these was abit reasons why he has never been too successful as a manager...and even the Nigeria coaches working with him have little reasonable input.

Sir, this is utterly unnecessary! I detest reading lines or statements like this, not really good enough to be honest. Not trying to defend the coach, but when the going was good, nothing like this was uttered. sad

I thought we are all supporting this team irrespective of the flaws. We are two weeks into the tournament but you've started saying something like this. What if we excel at the world cup? You will retract your statement or what?

We should be cautious of what we say, we are always too quick to pass judgement. sad sad
