Nigeria nowhere to be seen...with 57 hotels.

Lol....What a frustrated douchebag.

Your life must really be uneventful for you to be doing this.

Scouring the web for news that undermine Nigeria as if by so doing Kenya might become a better country....very funny.

Get a life dude.

I got this from your link. You have 68 and Nigeria without any serious effort on tourism, has 58. Meanwhile your link shows Nigeria has more projects under development than any other African country. Why did you exclude that information from the poo you wrote?.. …......the report says:

http://content.knightfrank.com/research/1493/
documents/en/hotels-africa-2018-5422.pdf

Most strikingly, 35% of projects under development in the continent are in West Africa, which is home to only 9% of the current supply. The greatest concentration of these projects is in Nigeria, primarily in Lagos and Abuja, where multiple hotels are under development for international brands including Hilton, Sheraton and Marriott.

I still don't understand d unnecessary comparisons u guys make here. Before reading ur source, I already know that tourist destinations tend to have more hotels than non-tourism countries. Even majority of SA's global chain hotels are centered in J'borg n cape town.

Global chain hotels may serve for business meeting purposes but can't be as much as for tourism. Kenya is a tourist destination in Africa n Nigeria isn't. So I don't think there's basis for this, out of the numerous unnecessary comparisons here.

Baba, even African Cup of Nations, Kenya doesn't qualify.

obaaderemi:
Kenyans can't play the world's most beautiful sport. They will put every foot wrong. Look at club football, they have never gone far in any major African championship. The world cup is out of it. They are still struggling to qualify for rugby world cup. I hope they qualify this time around sha.

The day Kenya qualifies for the Cup of Nations, a week holiday will be declared. They love football but sadly they can't play it.

Did you open the link? It does Kenya no favour. He obviously didn't read it before posting. With all their tourism industry and whites and Indians+ Arabs, they have just 68 global chain hotels while Nigeria with almost nil tourism drive has 58 with more than other African countries under development. They just want to compete on everything.

I swear I dont and I follow football like crazy. Most football-loving non-Nigerians dont know any nigerian club. Aside from Kenyan clubs, I know SA clubs, Egyptian, Algerian, Tanzanian and Congolese (TP MAzembe grin), still no Nigerian club I know unless I google which is not necessary because you're here. Which is the most popular Nigerian club and how does it compare to K'Ogalo in terms of footballing? Please dont talk with (Nigerian) ego, just the truth.

The good thing with us is that though we may not be too good in football, around here we are the Brazil. So no biggie, we still have peeps to kick any time we feel like. Like now there's an ongoing SportPesa tourney and our PL teams are steamrollering opponents from neighboring countries.

Wh told you Umoja and Donholm(mentioned in the article) are the same all over
If you go a bit behind, I had outlined that parts of Umoja are middle class and others working class. Umoja near outer Ring and Innercore are working class. The rest is Middle Class.
The article generalises entire estates when those estates in themselves are divided further. The picture below is of Greenspan at the heart of Donholm. Does it look like the description in the article

According to your very own source, the research excludes LODGES, SAFARI CAMPS , CHALETS AND CRUISE HOTELS.
Loool!!!
Kenya absolutely DOMINATES in the first two.I wonder why they exclude those when WE do have luxury Lodges and Safari Camps in half the counties of Kenya.
You think Tourists stay only in Hotels in KenyaPlease!!! Kenya has Luxury Hotels, Luxury Lodges AND Luxury Safari Camps!!!
If you add both the luxury hotels +Luxury lodges+Luxury Safari Camps(which I wonder why they are excluded because they are essentially hotels in the wild), Nigeria is not even in the top 5. Botswana and Zimbabwe would appear on the list.
Kenya and South Africa have both.
What Luxury lodges and Safari Camps does Nigeria haveNote that top luxury establishments like Finch Hattons have luxury safari camps in Kenya

SMH.
The source you posted EXCLUDES Safari Camps and Lodges form its statistics. Basically, the lodges and Safari Camps around Maasai Mara for example are not counted in the source!!! .For Example Richard Brandson's Mahali Mzuri 's Safari Camp which is basically a Seven star establishment in the wild is NOT counted in those statistics.
You chose a reputable establishment with reliable but INCOMPLETE statistics!!

Have you lived in Ibadan before or you just passed through. Can you mention the parts of Ibadan you know or you are basing your opinion on reports of these studies? The same studies tell us more Kenyans live in slums than Nigerians. But when you show them these reports they scream foul.
https://millenniumindicators.un.org/unsd/mdg/SeriesDetail.aspx?srid=710
According to that report while Nigeria's slum population % dropped from 77% in 1990 to 50% by 2014 Kenya's % increased to 56%. The report on Ibadan is from 2013 and based on 1985 stats. So my friend, a lot has changed although the dirty parts remain but many new areas keep springing up in Ibadan due to its immense size. Its not congested like Lagos or Nairobi. You should do your research well.
How many links of the fact that ONLY 5% OF NAIROBI'S LAND IS OCCUPIED BY SLUMS do we have to post here
Yes, a lot of people in Nairobi, 40% live in Slums(many of which, except for Mathari-Kibera-Korogocho and Mukuu are not slums by Nigerian standards given how Ibadan looks like a Nairobi slum)
But those slums occupy 5%
I repeat 5%!!!
of Nairobi.
They are not seen everywhere!!
What congestion?
You do know estates like Karen one cannot buy less than 2 acres of land and before 2007 the minimum amount of land per house was a freaking 10 acres!!!
60% of Nairobi's land is occupied by upper middle income and high income estates.Like virtually the entire western half of Nairobi!!

I am glad you helped these poorly educated Nigerian make that distinction. Tourism right now is about 1.5% or less of Kenya GDP - and about half of it is domestic tourism. For an alleged 400-500B dollar economy - where are the domestic tourist in Nigeria. Let not even worry about whites+indians - if a Nigeria is visting Abuja - where will he sleep - some seedy hotel or lodging?

Bottomline; Nigeria economy is doing so poorly few global chain would waste their money in there - despite the oil industry there.
