MUGABE COMES FOR THE SUPER EAGLES JERSEY AFTER OUR 2-1 LOSS TO ENGLAND!
Let me start by saying that the transmission from the Super Eagles defence to midfield was poor. All I saw was omission...sorry I mean confusion and transmission.
Nigerians can still be proud of the Super Eagles jersey even if they under perform in Russia. I used to be proud of my handwriting when I came last in my secondary school days.
I don't know if it is the beautiful jersey. But I expected a lot from this Super Eagles team. After all, to whom jersey is given, much more is expected.
The way the Super Eagles played in the first half and the way the jersey looked good on them is a direct prove that all that glitters is not gold.
After watching the Super Eagles in the first half. My wife decided to soak her Nike Jersey in hypo to change it to the white colour of the England jersey. Women are bad.
If I was the coach of the Super Eagles, I would have played Wiskid instead of Onazi. WizKid even looked better in the Nike Super jersey than Onazi.
If I were the Nigerian president, I would order Nike to reduce the price of the jersey to 5,000. The 41000 naira price is weighing the Super Eagles down.
The Nigerian Team that played in the first half was not ready. Through out the first half, they were busy modelling the Jersey for Nike.
Nigerians should stop complaining and look at the bright side. The more England or any team score against the Super Eagles, the lower the price of the jersey becomes.
Onazi is the undisputed Bakayoko of Nigeria. Nobody will even attempt to drag it with him.

Sir Fabyom... abeg don't quit the thread ooooo.... Haahahahahahahaha.... Na adrenaline rush of excitement (I wonder what mood you were in that day) make you drop that bold comment. England were always the favorites but I was convinced we would give them a good game. I predicted a 2-2 draw with a few days to the game when discussing with my buddies but alas we fell a bit short of that.

Abeg no quit the thread. lol... Just next time don't be like that fan from Ghana who once famously said...

"If Ghana loses, I will cut off my head"

When growing up as a kid I used to hear that comment a lot on Sports radio Brila FM Lagos. looollll

How many minutes and how many games did Aina play for the SE.

Aina primarily is a RB to have a level playing field he should be tried in his preferred position. However, that not withstanding did he get a fair chance

How many minutes of SE playing time did he actually get.

Finally, how on earth can we be taking a player who has started to decline so badly that he failed in lowly Turkey went to Belguim and started playing 2nd division in Belgium and not even first choice. Finally this player has lost pace he is now a liability. That player was taken ahead of Aina.

THAT'S A TRAVESTY.

I really don't see how we can justify taking Onazi even Joel Obi has been disappointing.

The way Aina has been treated will be great boost for other players considering playing for Nigeria.
lol. Nice sarcasm!!. @edi, oya see better sarcasm.. lol

this is nothing but the truth. I thought Rohr would purge the coaching department of favoritism. He seem to have been entangled in the same ugly culture that has plagued our team progress. I am utterly disappointed.

Colin udoh- The fickle nature of Nigeria football fans. You’re like kids, always looking to discard the old toy once a shiny new one pops into view.
And always so comically predictable.
Each time the cadet teams (U17, U20) Do well at the world stage, the immediate refrain is, yup, you guessed it “keep them together”. As if it’s possible for a national federation to keep and maintain players like a clubside.

When national team players have a bad day at work (like Onazi Ogenyi Eddy and Joel Obi at Wembley), they are instantly declared “finished” and a posse of new names trotted out in their stead as the savior.

The same Onazi that was once hailed by these same folks as the savior. Yes, I remember when NIGERIA failed to qualify for the 2012 Nations Cup, these people savaged the entire team, and the coach for not calling up Onazi, stopping just short of saying he could not only qualify for the Nations Cup all by himself, but could possibly win the whole damn thing too, then bring the trophy home by walking on water!

Today, the same Player has become their villain of the piece. Joel was hailed as the next best thing since sliced bread. There were even whispers of how he could bench everyone in that midfield, including Mikel kpakpa. Today, he should not go to the World Cup.

Now there’s a shiny new toy to sink those grubby fingers into. His name? Kelechi Nwakali.

Just like Onazi in 2011, Nwakali has barely two seasons of senior club football under his belt, but after watching him in one excellent game, against an arguably jaded team, folks want him to take over the world.

Deja vu anyone?

All of a sudden Gernot Rohr, who has watched the player over and over again, has tapes of him, and even invited him to come play the game where our Royal Ficklenesses saw him, does not know enough to leave the Player out of a WC squad he thinks neither Nwakali is ready for.

But all of our Royal Ficklenesses, majority of whom have never been 100 feet of the Nwakalis, feel they know more and better than a man who put them in that spotlight in the first place!

Yes, Onazi had a bad game. Yes, Joel had a bad game. And yes, both deserved to be subbed and need to work extra hard to prove themselves again.

But that knee-jerk reaction of throwing them under the bus, is just not the right way to go. Not any more.

Nigerian football fans must learn to be wiser and think a little deeper than just skin deep.

Players will have bad games. Including the shiny new Nwakalis. Feel free to criticize them. On the basis of that bad performance and let them know they have to improve. But don’t be too quick to cast players away.

We must learn to get behind the players when they fall down and support them to get back up.

They will give you more and lay down more in good times when they see you have their backs in bad times.

O pari
for the sake of civility, I'd hold back from calling Colin udoh a fool. How could he be so clueless to know that fans' displeasurable reaction over a player's lackluster performance isn't only peculiar to Nigeria. Go check other nations how underperforming players are grossly given sticks. making excuses for a supposed professional midfielder who could not string good passes together and another who's always jittery in front of onlooking crowd perfectly suits the description of a fickle fan. English fans for instance do not give a flying fvck about your past performance. You're expected to be shunning out good performances because as a fan, you pay to be entertained not to be bored to death. I'd send Onazi and Joel back to Nigeria through canoe if I were the coach. Those guys should just retire from football.

Iwobi wouldn't have made the three Lions team as at the time he made his debut for Nigeria because he was an academy player but yesterday he was the best rated Nigerian on the field.

Iwobi playing for the SE increased his stock.

After some bits of good research i have come to conclude that the best option we have going foward in a 3-5-2 formation is pairing Simi and Musa. Moses should never be played as a foward if we truly want to maximize what we have in him. Ogu is a better as a midfielder, but looking at what happens to our defense when under preasure, his composure, grit, positioning and an uncanny ability to read games will stabilize the defense and bring about a smooth transition from defense to midfield without us having to lose ball possession. Ogu should be part of our 3 man defense, but i prefer him as a midfielder.

Aina was to displace Echiejile and he didn't, Echiejile already lost his spot as the starter, Aina could not convince Rohr...remember after Aina debut he played more games that Echiejile and nothing come out.

After watching that game at Wembley again, I must admit we didn’t own the second half.
In fact it was pretty even, they prolly created more chances than us. We just did far better than we did in the first half.

Finally someone else has seen it.

not to mention that this was an English team that was already two goals up, a poor English team none the less. If we play that same second half again against Croatia we will have nothing to show for it. Everybody is hailing our second half performance as if it was a very good performance but then it wasn't, it was just better than the shitshow we produced in the first half.

Onazi is obviously refusing to shoulder the major responsibility for his shambolic outing so he is subtly resorting to the silly blame game. Truth is he was our worst player on the day and all his runnings were bloody meaningless. He should own up to his shortcomings and shut the f**k up. Can he do what Mikel does for the team? Can he even deliver like an Ndidi? Even an Etebo or Ogu trumps him now. Onazi should shut it and own up to his failings so that he can get better and show us he is still relevant to the Eagles. Nonsense.
