this is nothing but the truth. I thought Rohr would purge the coaching department of favoritism. He seem to have been entangled in the same ugly culture that has plagued our team progress. I am utterly disappointed.
Haba self. Onazi & Aina dey drag Jersey. Since when did Aina become a MF. No be him and Echiejile & Idowu dey drag Jersey.
I tire oh.
Drop MF put Defender. We for comot all DM's carry defenders go.

You see the kind mentality our DM get?
You need not run around just cover your ground not run around and leave spaces for opponents to punish. When Ogu was introduced, was he running around like Onazi? That's the hallmark of a DM (positional play).[/quote
Onazi talk na true. He misplaced a pass that was meant for Mikel. & baba Mikel didn't make any move to close d player down just opened his hand like which kind ball be this naa . Be like him don dey vex for Onazi before then. And that was Goal number 2. If u check. Kane had time to pick his spot. Onazi was just jogging behind him.
This team needs to work for each other just like in d qualifiers. Onazi wasn't covering for Shehu @ all.

Some agree with you but most agree with me. There is a difference. The stats from the second half also do not agree with you. But I will only treat it as your conservative opinion. It is clear we owned that half. From all observations, even most of the international media agrees that we dominated the game and possession and created even more chances than them in that half alone. We had more shots on target than England in that half alone sef. I really don't know what game you are referring to but I will not take this any further. Can't even believe we are discussing if we dominated the second half in terms of possession and most major parameters.

Joebie:
The.SuperNerd.. I've sen enough opinions on this. My opinion is based on my own observations. Some will also agree with me. I'm in no way trying to downplay our improvement in the second half. But I reiterate we did not own the second half. Maybe you want to be specific as to what we owned in that half. But on the whole, we were not significantly better than England in the second half.

Marco Reus deserves a major tournament naa.... Also based on the fact that he is fit again and on form. That guy has been so unlucky honestly. He was meant to be part of the Germany squad that conquered the world in 2014 but injury ruled him out. Then came Euro 2016, Injury again struck. Haba!

I am glad Russia 2018 won't pass him by. That guy is an awesome player biko. Sane's time will come.

Stats may tell you that a team had more chances or shots on target, doesn't mean all those opportunities necessarily posed a threat to the opposing team. I'm being subjective here. An opinion or two based our "superiority" on the number of goals scored in the second half. You have to look at every opinion and see how they arrived at their conclusions. But no point going on. I didn't see Super Eagles as significantly better besides the first 10 minutes or so. If you SAW otherwise, fine then.

For it to be used on a global stage, does it means NAIJA (instead of NIGERIA) is formally acceptable or what?? I just need some clarifications.

Yes Aina was not convincing enough but Echiejile made the team on preference not performance.

Sir how is your stake on Shehu now, remember how i rate Shehu but am more convinced that Ebuehi is better.

Also on Joel performance so far, with four solid friendlies the guy was damn too poor, making the team tells me sentiment

Onazi Ogenyi is out of shape. After England match i need to reevaluate my stance on him,not good enough for this WC,hope to see Ndidi back in action.

Aina didn't do enough to displace Echiejile. Simple and short.

On Shehu and Ebuehi, who starts has lot to do with which strategy Rohr chooses to adopt. Very obviously Ebuehi is a better modern RB considering his ability to join in the attack from the wings. Rohr has the final say on this.

On Joel, I don't agree that his making the team is based on Sentiment. Could Agu and Agbo, who were dropped, have performed any better?

Also on Onazi, he obviously had a very bad game. You may say he is not good enough for a starter. But I don't agree he is not good enough for the WC. He deserved his place in the 23 man list

It is not just about stats. It is about game plays... it is about what we saw on TV or live at the stadium. This was an England team running rings all around us in the first half. We made a tactical switch at half time and began bossing possession and we bossed possession till the end of the game. We sprayed more passes and had more forays forward than the English. We were simply better. The English, even having the home advantage, only adjusted and matched our dominance by applying an approach to limit our dominance from translating into further goals after our first, and eventually, only goal went in. They simply applied a subtle form of damage limitation.
They were not having the upper hand; we were.

All they were doing was doing their damn best to restrict us. They even started waiting to catch us on the counter. They played deep and packed the bus at some points in that second half. We dominated possession... we created more chances than them. We made more forays forward than them. We saw Mikel and Iwobi school these guys in midfield plays for most of the second half... Etebo completed most of his passes. The team was so organised and in control all half in that midfield. That is the game most of us here watched. They brought on Loftus cheek later on because they couldn't take it anymore. He did try to wrestle away control but we still had it in our grasps. The international media (most of them) affirms to this.. and you want me to sell the notion that we did not own the second half. Not happening. Like I said, it is surprising we are discussing this because by both stats and what we saw, Nigeria was clearly the side in control in that half. We were on the ascendancy, England was playing catch up and evasive restrictions. Simple.

In conclusion shaa... different angles of looking at a game exist. But I am certain I speak based on most major angles (if not all) looked at in that second half alone.

I hope he gets a midtable French team after this world cup.

Frankly, i dont believe in this conformist theory. Who decides if we would like to be called Nigeria or Naija? Lets be what suits us. Whats more important is the display on the field of play.

But if you ask me, "Naija" puts in a bit of aggression, hype, psyche and swag which only a nigerian will understand.

Funnily they even had more possession in that second half. How many of our chances were really goal threats? Stats don’t tell you that but a balanced non-biased observation. Understandably I’m a fan. But I want them to even improve on what I saw in the 2nd half. I’m sure Rohr has taken note.
