Just disappointed with most of the comments down here, hearing stuff like the guy above me saying you sent your bro to school and he decides to misbehave and should face the consequences sounds dumb to me as a reference. Sending to School is a legal and moral act, but POLITICAL THUGGERY is an illegal and criminal act, I'm sure INEC would agree.

It's clear he (saraki) didn't order them to rob the banks as confessed by the criminals, but accusing him as their sponsor for political thuggery is a serious one which the Senate president must go and clear his name.

In my opinion, if Saraki or the governor ever involved themselves in political assassinations police should provide evidence and prosecute them accordingly. As for this particular armed robber, his confessions are as empty as the hollow man.

Exactly. Its not exactly cos he gave them the car...its the motive behind why the car was given to them. A reward for political thuggery. The fact they confessed of being emboldened because of their criminal connections to Saraki and the governor makes Saraki and the governor culpable in the 2nd degree. The onus will be left for the police to actually prove that they boys are polical thugs for Saraki. Another case will now be built to that regard...

If you went through my post, you would know am not for it. am not talking about what should be, am talking about what is and as at today, political thuggery is part of Nigerian politics and none of them in Abuja and the states is innocent about it. Look at the ordinary primaries, ward, LGA and state congresses conducted even in recent times, you think it's normal that go to scatter or scuttle electoral processes. these are what political thugs do and it must be abolished.

yea political thuggery is illegal but then its practiced by almost every politician in Nigeria. Saraki will be singled out because currently he's not in the good books of the presidency. Had it been he was in the good books of the presidency then these boys would have been long silenced by the police and the matter buried under the carpet. Yeah Saraki should go and clear his name. I am curious to know how he's going to survive this hurdle.

Very sensible comment. It is a known fact that most politicians sponsor and arm their own thugs and they get away with it because they are never prosecuted.

Assuming without conceding that this revelation has political undertone some of this politicians must face trial for arming Nigerian youths while grooming their own children to take over their dynasty. Many lives have been cut short because of this proliferation of small arms which is provided by these politicians.

While Saraki may not know about the robbery, he should be given a fair trial and, if found guilty by the court, of illegally arming and sponsoring criminals, he should be sentenced accordingly.

Whatever is leading to these 'revelations' should not concern Nigerians. What should concern us is the veracity or otherwise of the claims made by these criminals.
