If you were on 6.5, maybe.

Well it doesn't matter, let him still try,

My cousin had his writing (acad mod) marked from 6.5 to 8. So He jumped from 6.5 to 7 to 7.5 to 8

So I'm asking out of sheer curiosity and not to mock him or form oversabi or anything, but why do people recommend Jay in the first place? I read here that he had a 6.5 when he had his own test (later upgraded to 7.5). That doesn't sound like the result of someone who should be giving out writing tips to others......

Just thinking out loud sha.....

Well maybe for writing he shouldn't be used , but for speaking he helped me a lot especially the PPF method thingy. I always recommend ieltsbuddy.com for writing tips...my opinion sha, worked for me.

I think this is worth trying out... good point

Elfmannisback:
For folks, who did a diploma and used it to gain B.Sc admissions at year two, and have no more degrees.. can't u do evaluations from two assessing bodies?

Eg: WES evaluates your B. Sc and diploma as one degree (B.Sc) because ur year one part of the B. Sc transcript is missing and do another evaluation of ur diploma only with say ICES. To get two more certificates etc points!

PPF is the best ever, and Jay scored a 9 on his speaking test. His letter writing is also okay. Don't know about anything else.

Though the other instructors have not written ielts so we don't know what they'll score if they do...

Its 15k for processing, if u are sending it for foreign institution excluding courier. You raise an IRR from the bursery at main camp, were they will give u an acct number u will use to pay d 15k after d payment u return back with proof of payment to d bursary. The proof of fund will be stamp , u then take it to the transcript office besides the office they issue certificate. You be given a form to fill your details and summit back. That's all, u keep calling them or you contact to know when it ready. I heard d courier charge is between 10-15k depending on the country.
I am still waiting for mine for 3weeks now, I was told the delay is because of students doing registration.

Congratulations bro. Pls how did you study for this especially that listening aspect?

I used IELTS Liz for listening practice. And I practiced everyday. Few days before the exam, I was doing 3 - 4 listening tests per day. But I still could not hit 36. I always had issues with the multiple choice question type.

I begged God for help before and during the exam.

And He gave me a 9.

Cost more in the sense that you will have to pay for 2 difference evaluating bodies... But cheaper than ACCA though
Elfmannisback:

More than having only the B. Sc equivalent points or doing ACCA?

They are not serious. I was even the one that gave the HR a sample letter and he gave me something similar. It wasnt difficult at all cos Interns and corpers are paid in cash. Dont worry u are definitely grabbing the next ITA

Please good people I need your help.

I just checked my ielts results and I got 8.5,9,7,8 for LRWS.

Should I request for a re-mark especially with regards to the writing?

My CRS estimate sits at 431. I don't have a masters and I have a spouse that will come with me.

I have four years experience.

Your sincere suggestion please.

Congrats on your result. It is very good.[s] Has your wife done IELTS? Did she evaluate her educational qualification/qualifications? Have you guys explored what she can contribute to your overall score? Stimulate your intended ielts score using the CRS tool and see how far that would take you. Then do the same for your spouse if she does WES or IELTS and therein lies your answer. Also consider the time both actions would take. [/s]

Noticed your response that your wife has done ielts and all. Can she retake it and hopefully score just as good as you. She could actually be the principal applicant. How many years of work experience does she have. Just sha stimulate CRS scores in her case and consider that.

Good luck with whatever decision you make.

It is just 3points. That means 434, still low. His spouse should take the test and evaluate a degree, diploma or sec school cert.
Wat score will a sec school certificate give if evaluated?

It is cheaper than other ways of getting at two or more certificates etc points, if it is crédible, though.

Good morning gurus.

Does my wife need to do IELTS and get her ECA? (I am the primary applicant and my CRS score is adequate. 448)

Nothing, It will give nothing.

Only post secondary school certificates have a shot at being positively evaluated (giving points)

If only we will take the time to read, the pages of this thread won't be flying by so fast.

Uncle @Adesire1 please see below

GlitteringStar:

Yes. According to IRCC, to get points for "two or more certificates", one of the certificates should be a three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree PLUS any of the results in the sections below (source). The "sections below" refers to:

1. Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute or
2. Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute or
3. One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute.

To claim points under number three, the ECA assessment results include:

College Certificate
Completion of College-level certificate
University Certificate
University Diploma
One-year certificate in [name of discipline]
Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year certificate
Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year certificate

Therefore, you are good to go if the ECA summary is "College Certificate" or "Completion of College-level certificate".

Good morning fam. The new update came with a new question thus, "are you a valid Permanent Resident of the USA with a valid green card" . Please how do I respond to the question for my kids who have US passports and not "Green Cards"? Details of their US passports are already inputted

I believe the answer should be NO. They are citizens not permanent residents.

I also used his method and scored 7 but I actually needed a 7.5 maybe we need to also study the 9 different essay types to see if things will change. This will be my focus next time when am doing the exam
