ImpactLife: VISA APPROVED ON FRIDAY (JUNE 1ST) at the Lagos consulate.
I came up few days ago about the fact that I will be going for the visa interview with my wife, and asked of the best response to a question. [s]To be sincere, all the response to the question was discouraging, except the response I got from theamericana, and I really appreciate him/her for that.[/s] I was scared because of what i heard earlier about ones inabilibility to book appointment till after 6 month if denied. I know of two people who were in the same situation as mine (last year and this year), and they got the visa with their spouse. After reading the responses to my last question, I thought of it that, if I have 99.9% chances of getting the visa because I have full funding for my phd, then the VO would rather accept both of us, than give us a rejection. I then decided that I won’t come here until I have my testimony. I must however let you know that it is just GOD and His favour. Got to the embassy by few minutes to 6 for a 6:30 appointment, and there were many people there already. Waited for few minutes before they started attending to us. Did all the screening and was our turn to be interviewed (that was about 7:40). A new VO just pooped up in window 7 and we were the second person he interviewed (He rejected the first person).
Congrats. But what you said there was not true. You were not discouraged. You only looking for what will sweeten your sights. In fact, I told you twice that since you already planned your visa interview the way it is, you should go with what you've. But make sure to have enough personal or school funding that can go around 2 people...... and you see that the VO asked that from you at the interview? Not everyone has time to write epistle.... everyone's daily lives require more time than the other. I answered you accordingly. And please next time, try appreciate everyone even if they gave little, people kill time and tasks to respond to people here on a daily basis. imperiouxx:
This is another reason why it would have been perfect if she goes for her F2 interview by the middle of your first semester. As it is right now, she only going with you to keep you company. You will need a good source of personal funding for her up keeping except you got a very huge funding that can go around 2 people. imperiouxx:
I think I answered this question already. Oh, sorry I don't usually write stories. It either you go alone first, the best way many have gone here or you tell them she will be your company to get you started quick in the new environment. Best of luck. 5 Likes |

Ohh, now I remember you Sir I also left immediately the consulate officer left. But, I met her outside and asked a few questions and also to gauge my confidence level . She seemed easy to discuss with cause i did today, but I know I will still stammer on Friday Good luck with your interview. Once you're real and not fake, you don't have anything to fear. Part of the reasons of going for that orientation is to familiarise yourself with that environment, you can see that they are all human and make mistakes. Once given the flour, make it count. Dress best, it makes you have this I can do all things spirit. Watch the Facebook link posted here by folmus to get more acquainted with everything non immigrant visa. You can do it. 1 Like |

Too lazy to type so taken from an old post ... prices might have changed . Time can be hard to predict but leave at least 1h30mins
Step 1: take the Airtrain from jfk terminal to Jamaica Station. Please listen for the anouncement "Station D: Jamaica Station."
Step 2: at Jamaica Station, purchase a $7 MetroCard from the MetroCard Vending Machine, and exit the Airtrain system into Jamaica Station. Five dollars will be deducted from the MetroCard, when exiting the Airtrain system. The remaining $2 will use for the subway.
Step 3: follow the direction signs to the New sub way. Upon entering the subway, take the Manhattan-bound (westbound) "E" express train (Blue Line on the map) from Sutphin Blvd-JFK/Jamaica Station to 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Step 4: at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, exit the subway into the bus terminal. The greyhound ticket counter, is right next door to the subway entrance.

chinemomah2020: Hello guys, please am flying from Lagos to Jfk and i intend taking a Greyhound bus from JFK to my school/destination. Please my questions are: 1). How do i get to Greyhound bus station from JFK?
2). How many minutes will it take to get to Greyhound bus station from JFK?
Please, those living in New york kindly respond Or anyone who has pretty good idea about it.. your experience will be much appreciated
Take air train from the airport to Howard Beach stop (~$5). The same (~$5) metrocard you will use to get on A train heading to Manhattan. Stop at port authority. The subways is under the port authority bus terminal. The train takes about 1.5 hrs and nyc subway is crazy for a newcomer. So if I feel it would be complex for me, I will just get out of the airport and take a cab to port authority for about $80. Cab is about 30 mins if no heavy traffic. Best of luck I just saw what Lagosismyhome told you. Jamaica center is another route and probably the fastest. But A train becomes express train right about 5 mins into the ride. 3 Likes 1 Share |

personally i hate greyhound , the only time i entered it smelt so much (might be different now) but yes i understand as a student it good to cut cost .
For me greyhound is for short journeys , maybe if my school was like 5 hours or less bus ride but anything longer than 5 hours on greyhound then i rather fly . If you are still going to TN , then really check the price of local flights from JFK or LGA, it might be $150 or so more expensive than busing , but it quicker and easier for long journeys . Long journey with bus can mean a lot of change change as well , making it stressful You're right. A 1 hr return flight from Buffalo, NY to NYC is $167 and an 8 hrs return bus ticket for the same destination is $160. The only reason I will take bus is for the fact that you can buy your return ticket whenever you wish..... no rushing 1 Like |

VECOH1: Good morning everyone, Please I need an assistance urgently. I am filling my DS 160 form but I do not want to submit it yet. I would like to know if the application ID is the same as the confirmation number that I would use to book for my visa. Also, I hope the application ID does not change when I am about to submit the DS-160 LATER ON. Finally, does it matter to use a yahoo email to sign up for my F1 Visa profile or would a Gmail be better. Thanks for your anticipated reply. You can go ahead and book your visa appointment as the application ID is always the same as the confirmation number. The Application ID will only change if you use another DS-160 form. You can use any mail as long it is functional and accessible. The only reason I'll suggest gmail is because it's my favourite 2 Likes |

A guy asked the question on not being able to book an appointment immediately after a denial, the consular officer referred him to their help desk. She also added that he should be able to get a date.
The consular officer said they attend to about 1,200 non-immigrant visas per day and a VO interviews about 600 applicants per week.
On whether they are trained psychologist, she said detecting a lie comes naturally by experience. That you cannot be talking to about 600 Nigerians and not get an idea of who is lying You don't need a degree in Psy or for them to take a lie detector test to know if they are lying. Same story from everyone everyday. The sad thing is that real applicants get caught up in between. 3 Likes |
