The Main opposition party the PDP has reacted to the declaration of June 12 a democracy day by Mr. President. PDP described it as a sign of political desperation. According to them, It is therefore a sign of political desperation for the failed President to seek to use Chief Abiola's name as a tool to sway Nigerians in less than twelve months to an election where he, (President Buhari) is seeking re-election. History did not record President Buhari as sympathetic to the Abiola's family when his wife, Kudirat, was gruesomely murdered by the agents of a government which President Buhari served.

Well we can give him 12 more days before he goes back to daura because clearly, he only wants extension of days in office.

I'm Sincerely Not Against It, But Am against Motive Behind It. The President Only Celebrated Democracy Day 8days Ago On 29th May Only For Him To Declare June 12 As Democracy Day. If He Is Sincere, He Would Have Postponed The May 29th Celebration And Shift It To 12 June. He Would Have Sent A Bill Amending The National Democracy Day From 29may To 12June To The National Assembly Before Now.

My Friend Stop Saying That. PDP Mismanaged The Govt. Yes, But For 16 Years The Country Was Growing Together. This Is APC And Just 4 Years Nigeria Is Gasping For Breath. APC Is Brutally Raping Nigeria, And Should Be Forcefully Stopped At All Cost.

Abiola could have become one of the richest man if he had agreed to forget about June 12,and a man like abacha will be ruling you by now,and you won't have the opportunity to type most of the senseless things you type on nairaland cause of fear.

Dumb coward.

Better late than never, he could have ignore the day like PDP did for 16 solid years, but he did it

Commend a move when it’s good and not just to criticize for the sake of it

I am not surprised with the oppositions comments on this issue. It is highly expected of them to criticise the FG decision.
