OMANBALA1:sometimes I think rohr is scared to talk to this guys...or the coach simply don't have eyes....like we have here. reason why some of us here were clamouring for kalu not necessarily because he is same level with Moses...but someone who plays for the team will always help you win games..... |

[quote author=goldfish80 post=68248928] The absence of Moses Simon has greatly affected the team playing Rohr’s preferred 4-2-3-1. His efficiency on the right brought out the best in Shehu, without him, Shehu hardly has any runner before him and a helper to track the runs of the opposite wing back and wing forward. Ebuehi is playing well because he has a spare CB to cover for him in a 3-5-2 formation. Rohr has a dilemma in his hands which he must figure out before the sink or swim game against Croatia . Also, it appears there's little understanding between Idowu and Moses. They hardly tag team on that left wing. My observation. i agree with your analysis, we do not have true wingers |

princfred:Iwobi played most of the 2nd half yesterday as a deep lying playmaker... How many times have you seen him play that position? If playing that position is best for the team he should play it. Idowu vs Messi is a scary prospect. Moses playing far back to help Idowu with defending reduces his attacking threat especially since he's more of a dribbler (more distance to cover), making him look lost as we have seen in the past few games. He should play as a wing back allowing for an extra man up front. 2 Likes |

I just had to drop the post before taking my final leave having since the level of gibberish here all weekend long. Too bad i will miss you all but i cant patriciate in a forum where some ethnic group commands more respect just based on their tribe or religion. Imagine having to sign up tp being a muslim before commenting in the muslim thread while te muslims are free to faff around and even get someone banned in other thread-Utter nonsense and promotion of bigotry. 1 Like |

Thanks goodness you already addressed that Nacho analysis. because indeed Nacho is more dangerous cutting in from the right and not the left as he said. And that is only as a wing forward in a 4-3-3 not as a traditional winger. Also Nacho does function beautifully as in a false 9/double false 9 approach or with two up top. He just needs one with the right off ball movements and not a static. Now, I can say welcome... But the keys to the rooms are in the custody of Sir Joebie... He and he alone can show Sir Princfred his very own room. Welcome then Princfred. Although, I have seen your moniker here a few times... But papa say we never dash you one large room. Sir Joebie Sir.... Over to thee... Icon4s: 1 Like |

Today in history: June 7 2016 we lost Stephen Okechukwu Keshi to the cold hands of death, tho a controversial person with his own flaws, don't forget he gave us our 3rd nations cup victory against all odds and expectations. rest on the BIG BOSS of Naija football 17 Likes 4 Shares |

Icon4s: First of all, having the ability of making critical analysis of what is in front of you is not defeatist mindset. Defeatist mindset is yielding to the opposition even before the fight began, I have been careful not to do this because I know Croatia, Iceland and the Argies have their own problems, but that doesn't mean I will the ostrich and deny the problems of our own team. Saying this is "just a friendly" is not enough because history will always remind us 100 years from now that on the 6th of June, 2018 Nigeria lost to Czech Republic. The example of the Siasia team loss to Denmark shouldnt be used as an excuse because a huge chunk of the members of the team didn't make it to Rio. Also the overraged players were not involved in that mini tournament. It is not the same scenario with this Super Eagles team that we know 98% of those who will make the team to Russia since January this year. Simy Nwankwo was just the sole gate crasher. Finally, I wouldn't fall for using past examples to judge this team because it was a different scenario we have as compared to now. In 1998, we know the problem with the team, things like player animosity with each other, fights and disagreements over money, appointment of a new coach few months to the world cup. The scenario was totally different from what we have now. The Super Eagles have never had it this good. These guys are flying on chattered flights, bonuses have been settled, no change of coaches, first class camping site and the same set of players. What's the excuse of these shabby performances? 8 Likes 3 Shares |
