As an undergraduate student filling the DS160. Is it advisable to put NOT EMPLOYED in the Present Work/Education/Training Information? I have worked in the past, I went to a music school this year for a non-vocational training. The problem is that I don't work presently and there's nothing I am doing now. I am finding it difficult with that part and I don't know if it will affect my Visa Approval Chances. 2) Please must I fill the DS160 before I pay for the Visa fee? I want to pay my visa fee, but I am not done filling my DS160. Please help oo. |

Hi Guys, So I had my visa interview on the 31st of May. My visa status changed to Issued yesterday. So here is my transcript. I got to the consulate by 6.25 as against my 6.45 interview time. It was mad weird to see so many Nigerians dressed and behaving so properly. Me: My mum who is a lecturer at XYZ Uni and here is her bank statement. *He looks at Bank Statement for sometime while typing furiously* V.O: I will hold on to your passport, I-20 and bank statement, I still need to run more checks on you. You will hear from the consulate soon. I'm very grateful to this forum and I wish all the intending applicants the best of luck. 15 Likes 2 Shares |

Nahum777: Hi there! I had that issue too so I chose "NOT EMPLOYED" then explained my situation. "Although still categorized as a student, I graduated from high school in 201*, and as such I'm presently not in a school and also not employed" Since that's my current state that's what I stated. Hope it helps |

adedoja99:Bro it helped a lot. What about the previous work thing? I only worked as a blogger, I was paid by Google Adsense and I never had a physical job. Should I tick No for the question "Were you previously employed?". Thanks adedoja99 |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by adedoja99: 11:42am On Jun 07, 2018 |
Nahum777: Bro, you should tick " No" I believe, since it wasn't a monthly paid employment. Blogging is more like a side gig |

mayd16:Stay away from those sites. Go and make your payment in Seme to avoid stories that .... A friend was asked to pay 20,000 just to be directed to the bank that pays it in Nigeria, that too is a big fraud. |

Visa approved today. 7-6-18 in Lagos 6:30 am. Transcript below: I can't remember if we greeted each other. V.O: pass me your passport and I-20. (I did. She goes through the document and presses her computer). V.O: So why are you going for a public health masters? Me: I am interested in the control of Non-communicable diseases in low and middle income countries. Presently, I am involved in carrying out dental outreaches to communities and in my work, I have some deficiencies in health program planning and conducting health research. As a result, I want to improve my knowledge and skills. I want to go to Harvard because of the quality of the education, prestige of the school and the networking opportunities that come with the school. V.O: I see you have a scholarship. So how did you get it? Me: I wrote GRE and I think I did fairly well in it. V.O: Do you have your GRE result here? Can I see it? Me: Of course. (Then I struggle for 3 seconds to bring it out). Sorry, I am taking some time. Here you go. ( I give her, she peruses it and returns my paper). V.O: When did you finish school? Me: I finished in 2011 V.O: What have you been doing since? Me: working. I worked in the North, returned to the South to continue working and I've been a dentist at XYZ since 2015. V.O: What are your plans after your program. Me: Follow my interest. I hope to return to Nigeria/Africa to work with an organization focusing on the control of Non-communicable diseases in low and middle-income countries. V.O: I'll be approving your visa bla bla. Me: Thank you Then I carry my head and leave the place. P.S: The interview probably lasted 2 minutes or less 25 Likes 3 Shares |
