you can rant and castigate rohr as long as you want but it doesnt hinder the good work he has put in place since taking up the job.you just mentioned 5 players out of 23 that was selected for the world, well thats shows truly the team is a very young one. thank God pinnick and others at the helm of affairs in NFF are not shallow minded and myopic like you. yes he chased vincent which was understandable because of ikeme's ailment but when vincent turned down his advances he had to unearth a young inexperienced keeper, brushed him up and got him ready for a massive tournament as the fifa world cup. Uzoho is still a green horn learning the trade but in no distance time the whole nation will reap the dividends of rohr's biggest gamble and then you will talk with the other side of your mouth. your likes would have preferred begging vincent or recall dead woods like aiynugba and ejide that are washed off not putting the future of the team into consideration. football doesn't end after the world cup so with the foundation rohr has laid is a good proof that the future of the apex team of this nation is too bright forgiveness: 10 Likes 2 Shares |

charlesemeka85: I say the biggest motivator. He could win matches with 11 keke drivers if he wanted. Keshii took a team of relatively nobodies and made it to the second round of the world cup. If he was a white man all the top clubs would have been rushing him. 7 Likes |

2018 World Cup: What I’ve failed to achieve – RohrPublished on June 8, 2018 By John Owen Nwachukwu Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has lamented his failure to convince some Nigerian players abroad to represent their fatherland. Rohr said it was part of his job description to convince players with double nationality to pledge their international future to Nigeria. However, the former Bayern Munich defender has admitted that he was unable to persuade German-born duo, Hoffenheim starlet Kevin Akpoguma and Hertha BSC’s Jordan Torunarigha, to play for the Super Eagles at the World Cup. Rohr was able to lure Amkar Perm defender Brian Idowu, Chelsea fullback Ola Aina and Tyronne Ebuehi to play for the Super Eagles. Asked by German newspaper Welt if it’s part of his job to win players for Nigeria, Rohr replied, ”Yes, that’s part of it. We’ve also convinced some, like Alex Iwobi from Arsenal , who grew up in England. Incidentally, he is the nephew of Jay-Jay Okocha. FIFA is allowing coaches to communicate with assistants who are up in the stands watching. I wonder if Nigeria plan's on taking advantage of this because you can really notice more be being up in the stands. 3 Likes 1 Share |

it was just faith and grace that took the team to the 2nd round. the decisive match against bosnia was won because the match officials goofed by disallowing dzeko's legitimate goal of which if it was counted the rest would have been history. coming to the issue of 23 dead woods ,who was the man that vetoed them good enough for the tournament? i can remember a player like imoh ezekiel was firing at all cylinders in the belgian league in the colors of standard liege but keshi deemed him not good enough, taiye taiwo was still very active then playing on loan at Ukrainian giants dynamo kiev but he was ignored instead oshaniwa made the team, a young kenny otigba was a revelation in the dutch league with heereveen but he wasnt given a chance, sone aluko was tormenting defenders and scoring with ease in the championship for hull city but he wasnt good enough by keshi's standard, haruna lukman was a regular figure in the midfield of dynamo kiev prior to the world cup and performed decently both in the domestic and the europa league but keshi never gave him a look in instead the likes of odunlami, oshaniwa, uzoenyi, gabriel reuben, egwuekwe, ameobi, nwofor, uchebo and babatunde made the team at the expense of more deserving players who performed better that season. after we crashed out of the world cup what next happened? we missed two back to back afcons, not only that suffered humiliating defeats at the hands of congo, sudan, namibia etc. abeg make una no dey allow sentiment cloud una sense of judgement BascoVanVeli: 3 Likes |

komekn: Unknown to you, there are people here who have not only played for big teams and at the highest level of football but also at the world cup. Mister, save and channel your brags to people who havent played football. I replied and quoted someone else and of course i made a comment about keyboard managers and of all the hundreds of monikers here who comment, you were the first to get sensitive about that. I dont give a shiot if youve managed Real Madrid, Man U or Barcelona. I will say it again, lots of folks here know nothing about football. They can not manage sunday league teams. Their managerial credentials start and end on nairaland. Folks here will tell you Chelsea formation and tactics, they will give you all the locker room gists and pep talks but they do not know the players of Ashanti kotoko, Enugu rangers, TP Mazembe and Orlando Cosmos but when its is world cup time, they,ll give you hundreds of names they have only seen online or youtube and start acting like they know better than the technical crew who work with the players in the camp. Go manage your teams sir and i hope sky sports, DSTV or ikorodu international sports network pay you millions in contract for your brilliant analysis. 2 Likes |

charlesemeka85: U are the one being sentimental. Keshi might not have done things the way we all wanted but you can't hide from the fact that this man won an AFCON and made it to the second round of the world cup. As a coach he has a right to select players that will do the job for him. Keshi was tapping into the hunger these young men had for serving the nation. Name a player that even looked out of place? Efe Ambrose, Juwon Oshiniwa and Michael Babatunde all had good world cup's. For me Keshi was a great coach, he could find a farmer in the village and get him to play good football for the Super Eagles I remember complaining about Aaron Samuel before his debut and the young man scored a spectacular goal. Keshi probably called up every member of our current starting xi except Uzoho and Iwobi. He even wanted to take Iheanacho to CHAN and then the World Cup. I respect the big boss because he did things his way. He just believed that the national team was for everybody and not just people at big clubs. He expected more from players in big clubs, Mikel was always called up because he is humble and hard working. I just think Keshi didn't want no high maintenance player. I remember reading about issues btw him and Uche at AFCON. BTW we never lost to Namibia abeg. 10 Likes |

safarigirl: Lolz sister. I'm not that impressed by Uzoho. While some say his reflex is too notch, I'm yet to see that. When Enyeama started to keep I noticed reflex. Ezenwa has better reflex; Uzoho has height. Anyway, next week Saturday, we'll know who it will be. |
