Toyota Aygo's have less than 1 litre engine, very cheap to run and maintain, insurance very cheap (fully comp) + cheap on fuel.......

I have not said buying a brand new car is bad, but fully understanding the financial markets is also very important. The pros and cons of buying a vehicle on finance..

If for whatever reason the lender cannot afford the finance, the debt does not dissappear into the cloud..... It comes with severe financial consequences... Best to err on the side of caution.....

I think it’s better to buy a used car because no matter the make of the car, once you have driven it out of that forecourt almost half of the value has been knocked off. Even if it’s six months old to me you still make a saving. Insurance. Is also very high on new cars. The financial commitment is a lot for someone just coming in to settle down in the uk. Better to take on a mortgage than a car finance in my opinion but maybe it’s the accountant in me that’s speaking.

Getting a job at the moment is out of the question, simply because all employers would want to verify your work status. Well, not unless you get a job on the black market. And be expected to be massively underpaid. And also expect to pay a childminder mega, for looking after triplets....

Regarding getting a job as a HCA in the mental health setting, you cannot work for the NHS if your status is not regularised.

And yes you can get a job as a HCA, subject to doing some work related trainings.

If you are lucky to get a job within the NHS, your trust might second you for your nursing training, but you would have to do an access to nursing training at a college.

The NHS/Govt is thinking of bringing in an apprenticeship to nursing scheme, they are still working on the finer details....

The area you live matters. Even if you have a lock up garage in Hackney central you will still pay muchore than someone living in a remote area in Scotland parking on the street.
