Wale Babalakin is the prime promoter of the firm running the airport.

He is a lawyer, I am beyond shocked.

This is a problem of transportation business everywhere in Nigeria, big buses, small buses, taxis old and new suffer this kind of fate day in day out

The Twitter guy was really nice by the way

No beef with anyone. Talk is cheap.

My own is, we need dead cars out. QED

Security deposit came, I supported it.

Assurance is here, am in full support also.

But, dead cars, NO NO NO

You're very correct on this, any car that is not in an almost perfect condition shouldn't be given out for more than 20k. I gave out my 2nd car today so I invited the first driver who has been driving my vehicle for about 16wks now just so he can educate the new driver on my dos and don't and also share experience, despite giving him an accident free "tokunbo" Toyota corolla, I realized these drivers are really working their ass out, I reduced the weekly payment to 30 from 35k,

Couldnt agree with you more bro. A lot of dead and refurbished cars being rolled into the system and when drivers dont meet up to expectation as a result of consistent breakdowns and job hiccups it turns to trouble sit iyanga go wake am. Theres no single day u wont see a broken down e-hailing vehicle on the road or one moving slowly wt its double pointer flashing indicating faulty car.

Well am sure if you look very well .. People like carshopper and Gazzuzz do have good cars at all times and even me myself.. So your statement about dead cars does make sense, but at the same time we do have partners or fleet coy with "alive" more than alive car self..... So it is up to the driver to search for people with good cars my brother.. For example people are aware that my cars are mainly tokunbo cars, so they can easily get in touch with me and look for a car. You can't use that as an excuse that all cars or most cars are dead ,or give that has a reason for drivers to default or not pay assurance deposit

From experince my brother, whether you give them 30k or 35k or even 25k . That your car will never be the same, by the time they are finish with your car , the weekly rental will not be enough to cover the cost... regardless how low the rental you give them, they will still over stress the car ...now coz you have two cars on uber/ taxify now, it might be easy to manage. Once you start having more cars ,you need to maximise your profit..
Those that know, they know what am talking about.. Just because you go the extra mile for them , it does not meant they will return the favour.. If you are leaving the driver to do oil change for you or the basic stuff ..Base on the fact that you pity them.. My brother they will not have pity on you ...maximise your profit .. Am talking from experience.. They should be fairness in business, not sentiment...
And aslo unless you want deceive yourself, there are some weeks that all profit will go to repairs " quote me if am wrong". And if you have not experience that yet ,don't worry it will surely come ...am not saying you should a jerk to the drivers o, but you need to also face facts ... it is good to pity people, but use your brains along with it ...

I notice a lot of people viewing the thread, much more than the number of commenters. We need the silent followers to begin to comment and participate please, this thread we all enjoy so much can be much improved on if we all play a part.

And misunderstandings are absolutely natural, @enyinne and chillex8. You both have a point, from different perspectives.
Please iron it out and continue your great contributions to the thread.
I will go follow both of after this post.
Agree to disagree, move on. No time.
The reason the silent ones don't comment, maybe due to the fact that this business is a jungle.. People like me that tells it the way it is also has a lot to do with it.. I can't blame them either, people are afraid to let their hard earn money burn .

Assurance okay but in what position are you to advice anyone to say no to HP? It's the owners choice, I have a vehicle on weekly rental and already planning to give the next on HP so I don't bother about repairs or any other things besides my weekly payments. You guys should learn not to impose your believes on others.

Will check back in six months and see how the hp is fairing

That is why it is necessary for partners to take steps, and make sure to request assurance deposit.. It will help weed out the crooks among them ...

You always say we can agree to disagree, so I humbly disagree with some of your arguments here. You make it sound like all drivers over stress cars and all drivers don't have pity on car owners, that is unfair to the few who actually are the opposite of what you're branding them to be
And definition of fairness varies from individual to individual, that his own fairness puts more smiles on drivers' faces than yours doesn't make it sentiment, it's still fairness
Thank you

Out of 100 drivers how many of them can you be fair to and they will be fair to you ..please keep in mind ,I stated that it is good to be fair and have pity ..but make sure you carry your brain along when doing it ..
