TheSuperNerd: The Villareal B team is very talented but u can tell he stands head and shoulder above everyone of them. From wat I have been seeing lately the boy is ready for the SE but i believe we have enough talent that can afford him the time of going to the U20 wc before making the main team. |

Honestly, watching Samuel again, I can see why Marvellous Basco wants him so badly in the Super Eagles post-Russia.... I too was awed by his genuine talents. He has truly gotten better since 2015. But Shaa, you are right... he will get his time. He will grow into the SE from the Flying Eagles no doubt. At least, Nigerians will get to see him do his thing in the GWG at that level first. For now, most Nigerians don't even know about the kid's progress.... Yet he was bronze shoe winner at the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 WC with 3 goals and 3-4 assists. Icon4s: 3 Likes |

Icon4s: Of course he plays U20 I have no issue with that but physically the boy is ready to serve his father land at the highest level. |

TheGoodJoe: Forget about 2013 or 2014. Let's face the recent past. You clamored for Oshaniwa ahead of Echiejile in this current team and you even mentionrd in your post above that you don't like Echiejile's call-up, simply because then you were backing Oshaniwa. I ask again where is that your Oshaniwa now? Modified: You know what? I would have just let that your comment pass but you mentioning the fact that you don't like his call-up. Which is true. So I had to ask where is that your preferred option? 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: OK, so then let's put him in the same pool with: Henry Onyekuru, Samuel Kalu and Peter Olayinka. That gives us another wings option to look into. |

You are so right Marvellous Basco. A very very talented team that Villarreal B side is. Their Number 10 with His own precious left foot is a star in the making too. Their number 9 is very good. Plus a couple more... But with Samuel, my goodness, you know you are looking at easily the best player in that team even with so much talent present around him. Leading into this final playoff, he is the one cited as the one to watch even on the Villarreal B team. Their first leg with their current opponents was 0-0 but today, Samu has practically won the day for them. This is a kid that was just promoted to Villarreal B after beginning his season with Villarreal C (where Jack Ipalibo is currently) but he has shown so much already to be noticed by the Villarreal coaches which got him moved up immediately to Villarreal B and now he will likely be playing in Spain's second top division next season (The LA Liga 123) above the segunda and may be even in with a shout to feature for their main team next season. The lad's rise has been quite phenomenal. Note: Villarreal B just made it into the very final round for promotion into LA liga 2 (LA liga 123) with Extremadura but they await two more opponents from games later today between Celta B and Cartegena, Elche and Sporting B. Icon4s: I think he might be even more important than those guys because we already have right footed wingers but we don't have any left footers. Of course those 3 are already proven players in Europe but he has that it factor that can be seen from a mile away. Like I said I agree with him focusing on U20 for now but I feel the clock is ticking and it should only be a matter of time before he becomes a SE star. |

Funny thing is even in this pool, he is the only genuinely left footed rising wing wizard among them. Although Peter Olayinka and Henry Onyekuru are both two footed, I think. But both are also more right footed than left footed. Samuel Kalu is right footed but with a different style. Icon4s: |

TheSuperNerd: My brother and to think we were all scared that his agent's greed had stalled his career. I am happy that the boy showed his quality. They will never say it but Arsenal should feel pretty silly for missing out on such a talent over peanuts. Even the nonsense agent has been vindicated sef as the boy is proving to be the best thing since fried rice. 2 Likes |

Icon4s: I wonder why you are deviating from the true point. My clamor for Oshaniwa was for Rohr to look in. Giving the fact that he displaced Echiejile and had a good World Cup for us. Rohr invited Oshaniwa to camp in England despite his challenges and also played him in a scrimmage game. That was all I asked for and I was glad Rohr gave the young man a chance. If Rohr was not satisfied with his performance, that was okay with me. I just wanted a look in. My statement of me not being satisfied with Echiejile has nothing to do with Oshaniwa. You are dragging us back for over a year. It has to do with a reoccurring situation we find ourselves with Echiejile on the pitch. He leaves too much gaps and causes us problems. Simple. 1 Like |

Two years ago today, we lost the most underrated and under appreciated coach in 9ja football's history, Amodu Shuaibu, the only coach to ever qualify us for two different world cups. continue resting in peace 17 Likes 2 Shares |

BascoVanVeli: Looolll.... True that. Sir Tbaba1234 and Chief Icon4s must be wondering why Wenger didn't land this lad for them just as he did Kelechi Nwakali... Lol See a review/live report (came during the game) I got via twitter from a Spanish journalist following Samuel's rise and the playoffs... He termed Chukwueze a football cannon and I agree. 3 Likes

Icon4s: If you are interested in my current stance, I can understand. I will prefer a thorough and open screening with the likes of Utin Ikouwem and the other young cat that played against Atletico Madrid. Let us see if they offer us more than Echiejile because heck, the guy has been a liability. |

BascoVanVeli: Owerri think say them dey churn out stars pass umuahia but KC Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze all from Diamond Academy Umuahia go do dem voom n'anya. That said, enugu is kinda lagging behind now. No reasonable Academy even the River Lane that produced Chidera Eze has been closed down. Sad 3 Likes |

Mikel will lead us to Afcon 2019 for sure. I reckon that to be his final major tournament for Nigeria's Super Eagles. So 17 games between now and then may be achievable kinda..... daveP: |

TheSuperNerd:I feel he should have strength for the next World Cup, he'll be 35 by then which isn't too old for a midfielder. |

Well, I am not really putting my mind on that. But if he stays fit enough and still plays sound active football then maybe, just maybe, and that is a BIG maybe, he may be there. But like I said, I am not holding out much hope for that. I expect Afcon 2019 to be his last major tournament for us. Would be truly orgasmic to see Mikel bag a second Afcon title. Thanks goodness his replacements are already showing up. jihday: 2 Likes |
