Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on hospital admission were on Sunday 10 June 2018 motivated by the Acting General Officer Commanding Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu's visit to 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital (DMSH). The Acting GOC was conducted round the wards by the Acting Commander, 7 DMSH Colonel Samuel John Adama.

The CAS said as follows on NTA News

Alot of grounded platforms under reactivation, am proud of the current COAS.

They are troops of the 133 SF battalion of the 7th brigade and other military formations like the 707 Special Forces Brigade etc... these formations are tasked with difficult task and missions.

They are not really SF like the NNSBSC, based on there training's.

ARMY RESCUES HOSTAGES IN KADUNA

1. Troops deployed in operation IDON RAINI on Saturday 9th June 2018 while on clearance patrol along Maganda - Funtua road rescued eight hostages who were earlier kidnapped along Maganda - Sofo Birnin Gwari road.

2. Those rescued include:

a. Three men.

b. Two women.

c. Three children.

3. Items recovered from the bandits include:

a. One red Golf car.

b. One trailer.

c. Two boxes of clothes belonging to one of the passengers.

4. Also, troops on patrol to Nachibi village recovered a motorcycle abandoned by the bandits on sighting the troops.

5. Similarly, troops encountered bandits at Maidaro village where they were rustling some cows.

6. Three members of the vigilante sustained gun shot wounds while one person was killed in action during the encounter.

7. One motorcycle was recovered from the bandits.

8. The general public is once again reminded to be security conscious and report any suspicious movements to the law enforcement agents.

ROTATION OF OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE TROOPS: GOC ORDERS PROACTIVE MEASURES IN COMBATING TERRORISM

1. The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu has charged troops to be proactive and deploy the use of military tactics in the discharge of their duties while combating Boko Haram menace.

2. He gave this charge while addressing newly inducted troops of the Division in Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri on Sunday 10th June 2018, shortly before their deployment to the frontline.

3. While welcoming them to the theatre he pointed out that, their deployment is coming at a better time as the terrorists has been degraded.

4. He charged them to be highly professional and abide by the rules of engagement. He also urged them to be tactical and decisive in the conduct of any assigned task.

5. He commended troops of the Division for their team spirit, doggedness and boldness in combating terrorism.

6. The Acting General Officer Commanding appreciated the efforts of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai in providing all the needed logistics to the Division to accomplish its operations in the North East.

7. He assured the troops of their welfare and wellbeing. He also stated that the rotation is in line with the Chief of Army Staff directive to relieve troops in operation after a certain period.

Male Suicide Bomber Kills Self In Maiduguri In Failed Operation


“Today, at about 1915hrs, a male suicide bomber who was heading towards Monday Market, on sighting the massive Police deployment at Oando petrol station in Post Office area of Maiduguri Metropolis, hurriedly detonated the improvised explosive device strapped to his body killing only himself,” Edet said in a statement.
