Hello, my sponsor will be presenting his Company's account to me.

He's my Uncle (different surname).

Is there any problem that might occur with this?

Secondly, is there any documents I should take along to back this up?

Take a reference letter from the bank, address it to the embassy, stating your uncle as the sole signatory to the account

A very long list....... More like names of all Universities in USA.

Check it if you will find Stanford or MIT.. Its only schools that accept WES and as you can see its published by WES

@Lagosismyhome what are they checking please, are contacting the bank to check if the money stated on the statement is still intact or what , cos mine is my husband's business account and he some times withdraw from it as well as pay into it for business .the balance might not be that exact as was when the statement was taken. is that a problem ?

Only someone who works in the checking team at the embassy can answer / confirm this . I can't say for sure but I would think it a check not necessarily the balance of after the interview but that the actual bank statement submitted is genuine

Good evening great nairalanders.

Please help out a brother. My passport expires July 2019. I want to apply for an F1 visa. Can I do so with one year validity left on my passport?
I read somewhere that an international passport needs to be valid 6 months beyond the intended duration of stay in the US.
Please answer.

To the best of my knowledge you can.

Pls has anyone used the service of ETX-NG in sending official transcript to the United State
and how fast and effective is their transcript processing.
Am actually contemplating on using their service, I graduated from Ekiti State University or if there is anyone who graduated from EKSU should pls hint me the best and fastest way to obtain my transcript and forward to the state.

I also graduated from Eksu but never went for my transcript. Please when you've successfully done that, get back to me so I can know the processes and the cost implications.

Hard to say. .... it depends on when the checks are completed. I seen one here that was done in one week and there was someone here that it took months last fall . You just have to be patient and check the status everyday or as often as you can
Goodness me!
I'll rather think about the one week part than the months part...
Hold someone's passport for months for account checks?
That's scary a bit. Really doesnt sound very kind. Even a week is already huge wait.

You pay 10k to process the transcript and 14k for them to transfer ur transcript to the exact place u want it to go.. They use DHL to dispatch my transcript to the USA

I think they were supposed to send the transcript to WES not the school you applied to. Why did they send it to the school?

I thought I would post this 12 days ago but as God would have it, I could not until now. I have been on 'Administrative Processing' from the day I had my interview (May 30) until today that my visa was finally issued. I interviewed at Abuja and the interview goes thus:

VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning and how has been work?
VO: Fine thanks.
VO: Pass me your passport and I-20
Me: I passed them
* the VO looked at my I-20 for like 30 secs
VO: So you are going to the University of Arkansas
Me: Yes, for my PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology
VO: Nods, so tell me about the program at Uni of Arkansas
Me: The program is for five years and I will be required to take 42 credits hour in total, 18 for dissertation research and 24 for coursework. A minimum GPA of 3.0 must be maintained every semester * (VO cuts in)
VO: how old are you?
Me: 2_ years old
VO: Are you married?
Me: No I am not
VO: Any kid?
Me: No ma
VO: Do you have any postgraduate degree
Me: No
VO: So you are going straight from BSc to PhD
Me: Exactly
VO: When did you finish your BSc
Me: I graduated in 2015 from Obafemi Awolowo University with a first class degree in** she cuts in (I was trying to sell myself here to provide 'reasons' for the BS to PhD route)
VO: Really?
Me: Yes really
VO: Do you have anything to support that claim?
Me: Yes, I passed both my transcript and certificate.
** she looked at my transcript (a student copy but stamped by the registrar) placed on top my certificate. I think the transcript looked somehow to her (If I had known, I would have placed the certificate on top or better still just BSc certificate)
VO: Okay, so what have you been doing?
Me: I have been working as a research assistant at Obafemi Awolowo University * she cuts in
VO: Alright, I will hold on to your passport, I-20 and your certificates. I will verify your certificates and we will get back to you.
Me: I was then waiting for white paper but she did not pass any. I then asked, 'ma, how about my white paper'. She looked at me with a big grin (looked sarcastic though). I then smiled and zoomed off before she changes the story.

Thank you to everyone that contributes to this platform. Even though I hardly comment, I visit often to learn from folks with wealth of knowledge.

Hey guys I need your help. A friend of mine got denied this morning because he didn’t show strong ties to Nigeria. He applied to Troy university Alabama, computer science, fall semester 2018.

Please how can he improve to better his chances for his next interview. Here’s his transcript

1.)i was asked how many universities I apply to

And I replied saying just Troy

2.) she asked me why I applied to just Troy

And I told her that I considered the fact that I wanted to enter school by this
summer and by the time I had done all the required exams most of the colleges admission portal has been closed so Troy was recommended to me by my dad and I did a little bit of home work on the school and found out that it was a great fit for me

3)she asked me if I took the required exams

And then asked for my sat result

4) then she asked me why I chose computer science to be my major

And I told her that ever since I was little I’ve always had passion for computers and innovative technology, and over the years as I grew older so did my passion for technology
Also, computer science is a vast area of opportunity. I can either become a tech preneur father my computer science education, specialization, certifications and gaining some work experience through internships

Or I can work for some of the top tech companies in Nigeria like ibm, google,Microsoft

Lastly I feel Nigeria is going to be a technology power houses someday through hard work determination and talent and I personally want to be one of the major contributors to Nigeria’s technological advancements

5.)she asked me what courses I’ll be doing in the university and how that will help me reach my goal
And I said I’ll be doing the General courses line math English and my main courses like physics computer science and programming then I said it would be a huge advantage to me if I study them in the USA given that the USA is the leading tech country in the world

6.) she asked me if I had any relatives in the USA or in Canada

And I said no

Then she told me the reason why she won’t issue the visa to which is because I didn’t show enough ties to my country.

Thanks for your help in advance
What did he score on the SAT?

Hello, my admission got terminated this week in university of Lagos after first semester because I was an underage student, I was studying law. I am interested in studying law in schools offering scholarship at the US. please can some recommend up to 10 schools.
Thanks.
you can't study law as an undergraduate degree in the US; you're required to first finish undergraduate studies (most likely in the liberal arts or humanities), then apply to any law school of your choice. And while you may get a scholarship for your undergrad degree, Law schools, much like medical schools are cost intensive. cheesy
