I was with Chigozie Obasi about 2yrs ago after his trials with Monaco. Remember he was adjudged to be the youngest of that 2013 set dye to his facial looks and small body. Remember his thunderous long range against the the UAE?

After taking some pills to my dismay, we discussed about life and everything, he shocked me when he told me the true ages of each and every one of them that repped us in that 2013. Yes they were young but none was below 18 and none was above 21.

God bless you bro this is what I am trying to say irrespective of the way I put it

All the teams are hopeful, but I wonder where he got that ‘overatimate’ vibe from. The fans? Player interviews?

safarigirl:
who is the 'they' that think they will win World Cup
Hian! Somebody cannuh just be hopeful again ni? There are 32 teams in Russia and as far as they qualified for the tournament, they are all contenders and could win undecided

That was the reason I said no wonder few of the 2009 U17 set remained, since they could dodge the MRI test then.

I no the 2011 till date sets went through a compulsory MRI test and I have no doubt that most of them are very young but I am curious to know if MRI is 100%.

I am learning every day.

MRI is not 100% only few people will agree with me.

Lol.... Are the Spanish FA even thinking at all? If your reports are true, then those in the Spanish FA must be drunk... Who will they bring in now? Or they will tell one of the assistants to lead the team just days/several hours to their first game?? cheesy

Hahahahahaha... Na wa ooo

But I knew this Lopetegui announcement by Madrid will be a distraction for the media now to feed off as regards the Spanish team and thus world cup. Just watch out for the headlines JUST IN CASE Spain fails to go as far as expected by their fans...

"Silly Perez destroyed our WC chances before it even kicked off"

Lol....

asha80:
seems spanish fa wants to sack their coach Lopetegui just before the world cup starts because of this issue of agreing to coach for madrid anfter the world cup..the coach some weeks ago agreed to extend his spanish contract to two more years..however reports have that senior players ramos, iniesta have waded in insisting the coach stays for the world cup..

And I will take that 99% and its proven science that I have witnessed first hand and studied indepth over the various postulations most of you guys here are throwing off.

The 1% is for the possible margin of error even at its slightest.

You obviously have again not been following this matter. Please try to read up first before commenting on matters as regards Non-English born/based Nigerian youngsters aiit... You have no idea when the kid even got into Villarreal youth system... Gosh! And he just recently turned 19 (on May 22). He joined them officially after his 18th birthday last year and have worked his way into reckoning in just one season (the 2017/2018 season) with Villarreal U-19, C and B sides... He has climbed up the levels and even gotten ahead of a Jack Ipalibo who was already at Villarreal before Chukwueze.

Chukwueze just came off his first sesosn at Villarreal youth and is already in the news for big things mister. Don't you follow??!! If you do, you won't be making such an ignorant remark to subtly or "codedly" pour water on the lad's beautiful rise and talents.

And why emboldening the part that said "half of europe is watching the lad"... You think that is a lie? cheesy Hahahahaha... You really need to loosen up a bit Sir... There is a whole lotta quality outside English shores trust me... Even better in several quarters. Lol

I want to assume it's youthful exuberance that makes you unable to be objective.

There is a principle measurement I use to asses quality, all things being equal. When a young player is not in Real, Barca, Chelsea, etc and showing EXCEPTIONAL promise it's expected that he should be playing first team football. Or at the very least had a few first team games.

That's a principle I apply to all young players irrespective of location and or nationality.

You claimed that Half of Europe is looking at him that is indicative of OUTSTANDING TALENT particularly at 19 not just potential.

I have seen so many youth players bought for £ million plus ➕ who had all the hype but didn't even get off the mark or play any degree of first team football. So I am very cautious about jumping on the bandwagon.

This has nothing to do with English football.

I want to assume that you know agents and others interests in football spread all kinds of stories in the media. Don't believe everything you read in the media it's often contrived.

If you were wise you would know I don't often quote media in my comments unless they are very reputable. Before the Nigerian England game was announced officially I already mentioned it here.

But you departed completely from the objective substance of my comments. To jump on negative personal prejudice, WHY

On learning, we all are, Egbon... And no the MRI is rated to be 99% accurate scientifically. The 1% is for a slight margin of error as human anatomy do have its rare varieties in certain youth cases.

Even its upgrade put it as 99.9%..... But it is proven and far more trusted at U-17 level than all the postulations and speculations on players ages flying around this thread.

Ramon azeez is a player with potential no doubt,i didnt not expect him to be where he is now,he is one of the best on his U17 set.

He is even still playing active football,i believe if he keeps working hard a laliga side will snap him soon or another better club.

In his U17 set he should be proud many of them career is on the cross road ride right now.

Well, hopefully. It depends on him.

It would have been better the iron was hot. I mean when he was Almeria Young player of the year going to the world Cup but now.. I hope it's not too late.

Lower division teams beat premier league teams all the time. I remember a team from the National league making it to the quarter finals of the FA Cup a couple years ago.

a few years ago news appeared on Nairaland about someone i know so well she could be my younger sister. I remember vividly the day she was born! in fact i used to drop her off at primary school. at the time her pic appeared on nairaland she was 25. every comment here went like

'ha! if this one na 25 then i still dey use feeding bottle na!'
'which level this aunty pass 35 o, fear God!' etc etc

At the other end of the spectrum, one of my university class mates eventually played for one of our national teams (I wont mention the sport) and when when i checked his profile his date of birth was 1986. Now i simply cannot imagine that I am older than this guy. when we were in 100Level I was on the fringes of the school team and when we played one on one basket ball he destroyed me. The puzzle is this, if that was his real date of birth he was 6 years my junior when we played and not only was he bigger than me (I'm 6ft 1 and he's 6ft 4) he was 12yrs old and I was 18 yrs old. He played few about a decade for the national team and did okay. But a 12 yr old 6ft 4 kid in university?

Praise da lorrrrrrd!! grin

they are better, Bundesliga is not just 4th because of Bayern and championship can never be equal to Bundesliga bottom half not possible.

players from that so called mid table team walk straight to become the best players in there premier league team e.g Sane(schalke), Xhaka(mocheglabash), Mkhitaryan (Dortmund), Gundogan(Dortmund), debryune( Wolfsburg), firmino(hoffenheim),

i can even give you more, the Bundesliga is one of the best league in Europe not because of bayern

So good that only one Bundesliga team got to the round of 16 in the Champions league, which was of course Bayern Munich.

How many clubs from the EPL were in the last round of 16 can I humbly ask

Batshuayi could not cut it in Chelsea or the EPL goes to the Bundesliga and tears it up. Consider Ademola no game time in Everton now a stand out player in the Bundesliga.

The player you mention were stand out players in the Bundesliga. The traffic is literally going one way to the EPL for the best players.

That assessment of best European league's was scientific evidence based and done by UEFA you seem to know more than them.

Lol... All this one you are talking is tales by moonlight. cheesy

You made an ignorant remark (possibly deliberately because it is not the first time) about Chukwueze "at 19" not being called up to the first team of Villareal CF if he was "that good" only for me to remind or correct you that Chukwueze just turned 19 actually just late last month. And that this season he is wrapping up with Villarreal B is his first season with Villarreal after he joined them after his 18th birthday last year.
This lad started from U-19s of Villarreal and played his way all to the top of Villarreal B making his marks at each level as he climbed which got him noticed so easily and now he is the toast of their youth set-up.
So how was he even in the picture for a first team call when he was going about executing his first season? Looollll...

You are really funny Sir Komekn... It is either you are truly and indeed ignorant about this or just acting like you don't actually see some facts... Either way, I find it very disgusting.

Just like how you ask how Etebo got his work permit as if you suddenly are not aware of his involvement with Nigeria through out the competitive games and friendlies we played leading to this World cup....
And Just like how you called Marca a local paper... A reputable marca? Loolll...

You really only see what you want to see even when truth is presented to you... Have a good day Mister and do well to respond within context as I won't appreciate another tale by moonlight...

Lol... Komekn... This is how you do most times when truth is presented to you... You fake ignorance or choose to look the other way... Sometimes you be like...

I know that age cheating is widespread in Nigeria but i disagree with the bolded statement. Ekong and Idowu are 25 and 26. There is no way Iheanacho, Uzoho, Awaziem and Ndidi are 25 and 26. Iheanacho grew up in the system so he is definitely younger than that. Iheanacho, Uzoho and even Ndidi passed MRI tests in 2012/2013. Even in the worst case scenarios, they are not that old.

Even from their mannerisms, you can tell the small boys in camp. Iheanacho, Awaziem, Iwobi, Ndidi, Uzoho all act like young boys...

Actually Ndidi failed his MRI scan in 2013, but let's diplomatically forget that.

Why will batshuayi make it at Chelsea when he was a bench warmer ? Or na back of tv you dey watch, batshuayi that struggle for game time under conte and for your information Chelsea is a better club then Dortmund.

Check the way Spanish players tear the Epl apart.

When last did the Epl win the champions league ?

5 club from the Epl is at the last 16 and 3 could not make the semi final what a disgrace.

The last time I check Everton came last in their Europa league group they could not even beat clubs from Czech Republic

Yep he did fail just before the CAF U-17 tournament kicked off. But he passed it before the CAF Qualifiers began in 2012.

The MRI age test for teens has six classification grades mister... It is very very possible he passed it when at grade 5 or even grade 6 with the growth plate of the left wrist almost fused. So logically and even scientifically, several months later, he failed becos he is grade 6+ with plates now fused and therefore ineligible. Teenage growth and bone maturuty changes between 14-19 is quite exponential.
