TheGoodJoe: This i will disagree with you, most good European dribblers are hyped by the media, but african players with such quality don't have that media attention. No one knows how much Okocha was good with the ball untill Italy match. the commentator keep saying Okocha is one of the best players in the tournerment, same okocha that started just the Italy match, alot of dribble star like finidi, siasia, Amokachi and Amunike and even more but the media never cared to take note that was why it came as a surprise to them. Even now so many people even Nigerians don't know an Ighalo is full of skills, a simon step overs could send you to the Bush and even a henry onyekuru ball movement could get one lost. European media hype there own, if i didn't see Beckham play i would have thought he was way better than kanu and okocha put together. and this media makes our player inferior and it affect our game, African players and team need to be Brave to win the worldcup 2 Likes |

@Mujtahida, Africa has know say on how football should be Played. Our football might be beautiful, but we don't have results to set it out for others to emulate. Until African sides wins the World Cup, we will always remain inferior and obliged to adopt their style since theirs has produced successes at the very highest level of the game and we will continue to play second fiddle to them. They will continue to be the best as we can never beat them to their game. The problem with our style is that it lacks end result. Africans play to the gallery forgeting the objective which is to win-win trophies. We run, dribble and outmuscle our opponents but don't score. We loose concentration easily(I don't know while) but this is common to African sides.etc To Change this status quo, there is need for us to integrate the European style INTO our style. Of this is done successfully, we will then stand a chance of unsettling and perhaps changing things. This is why I see a blend of the two as way forward for African football. The Super Eagles has started adopting this considering the recent influx of FB(those who were raised and trained under the European system and the Home grown). That's why I want this team to do well. With right team Selection and tactics deployed I see us standing our own ground at this Mundial unlike previous outings. Clue: see what Iwobi, Ebuehi etc brings to the team (EU) and what the likes of Victor Moses, Ndidi, Etebo etc brings to the table(AU).A proper blend of the two opposite styles will do wonders. Just imagine this guys gelling together. 5 Likes |

Mujtahida: Ur head is there bro!!! Anytime the head coach is not around , I let dem play three touch football and allow more touches only to blow foul if the end product is bad. Every other day strictly 2touch with lots of off the ball runs. I love my midfielders extremely confident on the ball. 1 Like |

On This Day in 1998, Nigeria recorded one of her biggest win at the World Cup. The Super Eagles defeated Spain 3 -2 in their World Cup opening fixture. Goals from Mutiu Adepoju, Sunday Oliseh and an own goal by Andoni Zubizarreta secured the win for Nigeria.. 9 Likes 2 Shares

TheGoodJoe:europeans better at dribbling? opinion abi fact? i still maintain that you did not grab the kernel of my write-up. i used dribbling as an example and not that all of our game should center on dribbling. so what makes the bolded different from all i said? i guess you want to pick on dribbling and begin an argument on it but if you grasp what i wrote you wont center on dribbling. |

Martz101: Not really, we cleared lesser balls out of that region and played more on the ground when we had omeruo, ekong and ogu at the back + ebuehi/idowu Unlike the first half when we had balogun, ekong, shehu and idowu. |

First of all, I don't need to do more research into an area I am practically a god in. Everything you have said, I know about but the thing is that you are emphasizing irrelevant and extraneous details. Listen up, the "koko" is the Anatomical make up of the player's growth plates on his left wrist (and even his right if we go that long). That is the central focus linked to the specific age range the MRI age test is designed to detect and strongly indicate. Second of all... The MRI cannot be applied to U-21 level because the growth plates fuses before one is even 19-21 years in almost all cases if not all. Normally in almost every case with a few exceptions (a rarity in fact), the growth plates close at 18. So MRI at U-20/21 level won't work. Based on what it is designed to detect, that is. Thirdly and finally, there is a margin of + or - 2 for certain rare individuals who may be slightly above 17 (I.e. 18 or 18+) and still pass the test because their growth plates are yet to fuse AND also, for those who may be 16 or 17 and still fail the test due to early epiphyseal plates closure. This is Human Anatomy and there is bound to be slight variational detections but the margin of finding such rarity is extremely minimal. This is why the MRI is 99% accurate with a margin of + or - 2 to determine and detect ages for those below 17 or above 17. It is as simply scientifically explained as that. Nothing complex except I go into the deeper classification grade details of which I won't before I turn this thread into a biosciences and medical engineering class. You say you wanna bury it... So fine bury it... But in burying it, you still had to type all your story again. I just dey look you. komekn: |

chrisooblog: On paper, it looks like playing against those sides you listed on the first paragraph might not be ideal but what you loose in facing quality opposition, you gain by building a solid unit of individuals who are used to playing with each other. If you look at the 3 previous world cup winners, you will find a pattern which suggests that those national teams consists mainly 80% of player from 2 clubs. Use Germany with Bayern and Dortmond, Spain Real Madrid Barcelona, Italy with the Milan teams and Juventus as a case study. Egypt dominated Africa using this trick with their golden generation between 2006-2010. This prototype can work on a bigger stage if implemented. Honestly speaking, I think Egypt missed a trick between 2006-2010 by not qualifying for the world cup. You'd be surprised how far they could have gone. Recall within this period, they played in the finals of the confederations cup. 2 Likes |
