Hello house...

It's the Eve of the world cup, and our darling super eagles would be carrying the hopes and dreams of the nation and Africa as a whole.. It's j about 19hours to the first kickoff of the world cup, Hence it is not out
of place to start making predictions and preview analysis of games, especially games involving Nigeria.. On that note, get into into world cup spirit guys, and soar on eagles wings..

Previewing the Nigeria vs Croatia match...

Yea, people having been making predictions, even animals.. But here is my own opinion..

The game will be a physical one for the first 20 minutes , Croatia will attempt to rile us up, commit us,
so we start giving uneccessary fouls and conceding corner kicks and free kicks, their aim will be for them to score a goal from a set piece in the first 15 min.. This would
be their first undoing, cause unfortunately for them, and fortunately for us, they would meet a more tactically defensive Nigeria..
I think Nigeria would settle into game, seeing they are able to over come their previous problem of being jittery and conceeding early, and would go on to score a goal in around the 30min, Croatia will begin to fidget, and come out blazing in the second half, but Nigeria would put in a second from counter attack, and go on to add a third .. Croatia will score a goal though.. And that would end the match..

Nigeria 3 : crc 1...

Goal scorers

Odion ighalo, assisted by mikel

Iwobi, assisted by ebuehi

Iwobi assisted by iheanacho

Manzukic assisted by perisic

All for fun... Enjoy people

Soarsupereagles..
I doubt if Rohr will start Tyrone.

I think your being emotively prejudiced and your tone presumptuously derogatory.

I don't always agree with the TheGoodJoe but he is not an Uncle Tom to be influenced by Western media and has enough understanding to of the game not to be carried away by superficial marketing.

Nobody thinks Beckham was the most skilful player. However, the skill set he had dead ball delivery and crosses was World class. Beckham didnt have much pace but he could deliver the ball with pin point accuracy.

Sometimes that skill is more effective than doing drag backs and step overs without end product.

na grammar you dey speak, Beckham was overhyped

I will qualify your opinion with my observations.

In Europe much more emphasis is placed on end product, the purpose of the dribble is to gain advantage for your team and or overcome your opponent. Then to deliver END PRODUCT.

In Africa we can be found guilty of playing to the gallery showboating without end product.

As a result players with mesmerising skill will may not display that in match. Being disciplined they will think of end product first before dribbling or showboating.

For instance when I watched Tega Onomah and Tega Abrahams in training they were full of skills and tricks but limit in in the game. You may think therfore that they are limited in thier skill set.

A player you may think lacks Skill also is Dele Alli watch him in training and you will be pleasantly suprised.

if you are reasonable you will notice that the basic of this discuss was that European players were more skilful than African players, your write up abovr support the fact that africa players are more gifted skills wise.

or are you trying to buttress my point of view?

I meant World Cup bro, they have one of the best goal ratio, did I say the best ?

As you call some player say I argue ? Did I argue about lewandowski?

I point out my example

Oga playing to 38 means alot unless you don't watch football, are you trying to tell me if Suarez play till 38 he won't score any goals seems you said it doesn't mean ? Common bro you know better than this .

Thank you

Ratio in this context is dividing the number of match played by the goals scored...playing u til 38 is a disadvantage to the goal ratio, because the player will tend to be less effective and will also be coming into the match and not starting and it will be a disadvantage to your ratio.

for example Yekini was not a starter in 1998, it lessing his goal ratio for the national team, it would have been higher if he retired earlier

Clear now?

First of all, you don't have to start a game in order to provide an assist or even score a goal. Got it

Having said that, I think Ebuehi would start on Saturday because Rohr would play 3-5-2.

William is not a starter he was bench throughout the qualifiers you are looking at the friendlies.

Casemeiro paulinho and renato Augusto started all qualifiers.

So where will coutinho fit in ? You are looking at the friendlies ?

Coutinho always plays from the flank for Brazil, even Douglas started most friendlies as willian.

so from everyone that started the the qualifiers since last 2 years will start the matches in world cup,

a player like renato augusto started most the qualifiers but will be happy to make the bench

Brazil play 4-2-3-1....coutihno plays left, neymar plays behind jesus and willian play from the right, most time you see coutihno drifting in the middle just like our iwobi and neymar pushing forward like his partnering Jesus.

So what makes you think that Wilfried Zaha doesn't belong in the debate? I don't wanna argue about Obasi because injuries stunted his game but to say that Zaha doesn't belong is an outrage. Is it because he plays for Crystal City? Are you aware that Zaha is arguably the best dribbler in the EPL today? Are you aware that, apples to apples, Zaha was the past EPL player of the season? Are you aware that Crystal Palace did not win a single match when Zaha didn't start? Are you aware that Real Madrid is currently discussing terms with Zaha's agents?

Anyway, I give up on you guys. EOD!

TheGoodJoe:

How can someone put Obasi and Zaha in the same place when we are talking Cruyff, Michael Laudrup and Seedorf? By the way, I stated clearly that the South Americans top on skills. I do not know why you are bringing Messi and Ronaldinho into the debate.

I am saying Nigeria as a whole lacks behind when it comes to skills, compared to the Europeans. For instance, who can we compare skill wise to Martial or Pogba?

Bros, if talent along wins soccer matches then we'll simply give the World Cup to France and the runners up to Belgium. There's more to a team than talents. Trust me, Uruguay ain't making the semi finals. And I am willing to bet you on that one.

andrew444:

Its seems you are looking down on uruguay,You dont know the calibre of players uruguay have if you know the calibre of players i doubt you will say anything about them you will just watch and see what might happens.

Let me give you small clue.

Central defence pair....... Diego Godin and Jimenez......Both plays for ATM and they are both starters in ATM defence,Martin caceres of Lazio might play right back and Maxi Perriera of porto is left back, uruguay most capped player with 125 appearance.

Midfield...... Lucas Torriera plays for sampdoria,he is about to join arsenal..... Mathias Vecino plays for Inter millan and he is a starter there.

Striker...Luis suarez and cavani.....Chritian stuani, but stuani will be benched because they will be playing a 4-4-2,Cavani suarez and stuani add their goals together this season its better than any other strikers together.

I am not telling you uruguay will make it to the semi or win the world cup...A good football analyst will never tell you uruguay will be out till they see it happens.

If super eagles have the calibre of players uruguay have i think we will be dreaming to win the world cup and not quarter final achievement.

3 5 2
Kelechi and Iwobi to lead the line.
Moses Mikel Ndidi Ogu/Etebo Tyrone
Omeruo Ekong Balogun

We're not scoring goals.

Kelechi scores goals. We need him to play.

It's a wonder that since we played the 3-5-2 against Argentina, we've not tried to use the same personnel against other teams. We have not been scoring goals.

Those front two are especially important. They know how to score goals for the Super Eagles.

Rohr has to maximize our strength.
I don't see us not scoring at least two goals if Rohr implements this lineup.

It poses so much fluidity, with a threat of very swift and deadly counter-attacking transitions in ruthless fashion.

Given that Iwobi and Nacho share a magnitude of somewhat chemistry; With pace, youthfulness with sleek feet and highly clinical instinct in the opponents box. The Croatian back line will surely struggle to contain them.

With a highly influential Mikel with Ndidi behind them, and Moses popping forward from the left flank! My word.. that is pure luxury I tell you.

Is Rohr thinking such way? I doubt. Isn't that intelligent for me.

I am not betting with Uruguay but never say never in football and this is a team with all round world class players.

This is a team that reach the semi finals in 2010 and about 8 of the players are still there.

This is a team that won the 2011 copa America.

As far as I am concerned Belgium hasn't done anything in World football no be name we wan chop,Belgium got bunch of underperforming players.
