Icon79:I am only stating my doubt about Rohr choosing Tryon and also playing 3-5-2. That's my point. And why are you so sure about it? |

Bros, that day I was so pissed off that I wanted to break my TV. It's true that we tend to banter with Ghana but I threw my support 100% with them once Nigeria were eliminated at the World Cup. I wanted them to make it to the final because it was Africa's World Cup. Anyway, since that day, I parted ways with Luis Suarez and Uruguay team. I still don't like Suarez to this day, even though he plays for Barca O pari asha80: 1 Like |

Nah, they were totally average. Same with the Copa America. That's why I can't understand why they are rated very highly by the pundits. Frankly, I wish we had Uruguay instead of Croatia, even though Croatia didn't impress in the qualifiers either. O pari andrew444: 1 Like |

Well, like I told icon4s yesterday, Rohr really has to be dumb not to deploy 3-5-2. Based on the players at his disposal and based on what we saw during the pre-tournament friendlies, it's clear that 3-5-2 is our best option. He wouldn't publicly admit to it right now but I think he would use that formation on Saturday. Fingers crossed tho. O pari MetalJigsaw: |

Icon79:but guy truthfully imagine this scenario.. 119mins in extra time France 0 Nigeria 0.. France has a corner.. lemar takes the corner.. giroud heads the ball. uzoho is clearly beaten and the ball is flying into the net.. Moses on the line cannot get it with the head and throws his hands up and parries the ball away.. ref gives Moses red card as expected.. griezmman goes to take the penalty (probably last kick of the encounter ).. griezmman balloons the ball to the crowd.. match enters penalty shout out and Nigeria wins.. how do you think Nigerians will view Moses and do yu think France will view griezmman? 3 Likes |

Icon79: I wasn't surprised by what Suarez did. South American football is not clean football. They believe that if you can cheat and get an advantage for the team,DO SO! It's their belief and I love it. I bet you, you'll still see that kind of play in this world cup. |

Bros, with the talent we had at that time, even coach Yusuf (or myself sef) would've breeze through that AFCON with ease especially with us being the host. To me, BonJo is a fraud. He wasted our golden generation of players! How come he hasn't had any other coaching job since leaving Nigeria? O pari Martz101: |

Martz101: Common not nianggolan should be dropped, personal issues should not be bring in terms of selection. How can you take a west brom player to the World Cup and stop nianggolan? It's just like Belgium taking benteke and dropping lukaku. Nianggolan is Belgium best midfielder so what are you saying? Brazil has been inviting Chinese based players since the qualifiers,Paulinho and renato augusto, even if Paulinho didn't make Barca move he is a sure starter in that team. |

Haha!! Ol' boy, you should be a screenwriter That was very well illustrated. Yes, VicMo would definitely become a Nigerian hero but he would become a villain in France and the whole of Europe. And those pundits are never gonna forgive him. For instance, in the 2014 (2010?) World Cup qualifiers, Thierry Henry used his hand to score a goal against was it Ireland or Northern Ireland, the goal was allowed to stand but to the UK media raised hell. There were even calls from various quarters for the game to be replayed. To this day, the British media is yet to forgive Diego Maradona for the so called hand of god goal he scored against England in 1986! Yet what Suarez did in 2010, which was much worse if being viewed as a footnote. O pari asha80: |

Martz101: But 96 team was under 23 plus Uche Okechukwu, Taribo and cant remember the third over aged player. 96 was a mixed of under 23 and three over aged players while 94 was the real deal. Abacha's and South Africa's politics denied us the chance to see the 96 Super Eagles so i think 94 set was better. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon79(m): 1:35pm On Jun 14, 2018 |
Well, that ball would be ruled as a goal if he does the same thing today. They have changed the rules. I mean, think about it, did Uruguay play even a single minute with 10 men in that match? It was totally unfair what happened to Ghana!! O pari SlayerForever: |
