Saudi Arabia's first XI would be:

De Gea

Marcelo Boateng Ramos Alves

De Bruyne Countinho Kante

Salah CR7 Messi

You for dey see people like Sane, Neymar, Alonso, Umtiti, Mbappe, Neuer, Firmino, Lukaku, Hazard, Alba, Bale for their bench

I thought you're a Muslim.
Hahahaha hahahaha. I'm not oooo. I've given an account of how I came about my moniker. I attended ABU Zaria where you must choose an elective in Islamic law in your 200 and 300 levels. I liked Islamic law and was good at it. My colleagues started calling and still call me mujtahid meaning a scholar/authority of Islamic law. Now though I've quite forgotten some of the things we were thought then.

Since morning I've been quite happy all thanks to the breeziness in my soul from Marcus the mystic's prediction.

It's true. For instance, are you aware that no host nation has ever lost the opening match in the world cup? And that's bound to continue this year with Russia conveniently selected to host Saudi Arabia grin

It's a rigged system, bro. And Michel Platini even confirmed it sef.

O pari

Russia won comfortably like you said, but I'm still looking at your theory

None of those guys were Wingers and Beckham had better long range passing than all of them. This is a fact. Pirlo and Alonso were more elegant and skillful than him, but not better long passers.

pirlo and alonso were as good as him in long passing

I have a few pointers to how we need to fix african football. In fact, lemme list the problems we have and Address them one by one. Please pardon the long post.

PROBLEMS..
1. Poverty
2. Lack of Infrastructure
3. Copy cat attitude
4. Lack of purpose and planning
5. Hunger and passion for the game.
6. The African dream

POVERTY
This is the sole reason Africans migrate to anywhere in the world. Narrowing it down to football, our players get out there at latter stages of their lives armed with only skills and sheer willpower to survive and endure unbelievable circumstances. Football in africa is in born whereas in Europe, football is taught. Football is fun in Africa but in Europe, it is billion dollar business. Football is an art in Africa but in Europe it is science. I totally respect the part where the world keeps evolving but it also is causing us to lose sight of what really matters. Cellphones and social media now makes us have meaningless relationships, to the point that we get away with insults on a forum like Nairaland. Things we would naturally not say to a person's face just because it is a "faceless" forum..... ( i have lots to talk about on the European world domination but not this time).
If poverty levels in African countries can be alleviated, if there can be dignity in labor, if our leaders can only learn to be Afrocentric rather than Eurocentric, then there is hope for that footballer with mad skills. There is hope for that hair dresser, for that market woman, for that taxi driver , for that business man. If our leagues in Africa are well structured to pay good money to players plying their trade in Africa, and there is money in the hands of the people to come watch these players play in a state of the art facility, maybe there will be less exodus to the european back water leagues in search of the proverbial golden fleece.

Lack of infrastructure and facilities
While the agenda in Europe has already been set, there are certain expected infrastructure in Europe that make them seemingly thrive. Electricity for instance is not their first worry. They have designed systems that actually work and is devoid of opinions and tribes. Africa on the other hand has been systematically divided into Anglophones,Francophones and Arabs and even at that, there is no unity in Africa. Infrastructures are made to rot after spending billions in dollars. What is stopping goverment from making all quality stadiums in naija to be used and maintained by clubsides? Culturally speaking, we need to have good maintenance ingrained in us as africans.
Take a look at Ahmadu Ahidjou stadium in cameroon where the eagles played their away match.... its an eyesore. I dare say that other than South Africa which seemingly has soccer crazy followership in Africa (but lacking in talents), there is no other nation in Africa that can boast of their quality of infrastructures....and I stand to be corrected on this. Its not enough to invest in infrastructures. Their actual continued use and maintenance should also be put into consideration. Soccer should be built up as a brand in Nigeria and Africa @ large.

Copy cat Attitude

We have tendency in africa to want to have exactly what the Western world has, thereby neglecting our core values. The lines are getting blurry more and more by the day. It starts from accent, dressing, mannerisms, cliches, attitudes. Our African-ness is slowly fading away. If there is one thing I have come to like in Africa, it is the music and movie industry. If only we can build every other sphere of our lives in africa, independent of the wester powers, we would see changes. How does this affect african footie, you would ask....Africa has its own style of play. We are rugged, fearless and skilfull but the West dont want that. They are the ones that will keep setting the rules for football. Suddenly, pulling of shirts is now legal in football. Pushing and shoving is now part of the game. In fact, there is now something called "professional foul" which seriously, I wonder whats so professional about it. The rules of todays football favor the Europeans. I recall in the 80s where when a typical african bumps into an average european, the african was given marching orders by the referee. Have you noticed that Naija hardly get red cards anymore, cos we have learnt how not to do hard tackling so we dont get reduced to 9players.
The west have subtly included physicality in their game and yet they will still brand us as the Physical ones. They took part of our game and i cluded it in theirs while not letting go of their culture. Africa on the other hand are skillful but they are now telling us skills arent enough and we are buying into it hook, line and sinker. Everything now is pace and one time hits that result into goals. I even hear off ball movements now.....

Lack of Purpose and planning

Africa needs to set its own agenda. When we have academies spread all over the country, there has to be standards set to achieve a certain purpose, just like it is set in primary schools wherein, without common entrance exams, you cant get into high school. There has to be planning, events that showcase what young ones are doing from young. Today we already unearthed a Sulaimon Ayomide (that dark skinned u15 player.... highly skilfull). We should encourage more of those. Teach the technical aspects of the game and also learn how to incorporate skills and technique and bullish physicality. When we have u-17, should they akways be discarded at the end of the tourney? Or the rush for greener pastures renders them into oblivion?

The African Dream

Do we even have one? Here we are, Ghanaians that are supposed to be our best allies are the ones now trolling us. I can understand if it was a francophone country like cote D'voire cos then we would say they speak french and dont understand our culture. What is united in African Union? Nothing. One wonders what is being discussed when the African heads of state meet. You might wonder how is this related to football. Need I remind you of the Abacha/Mandela faceoff that denied us the chance of defending the Afcon in 1996? Do you realize how much that set us back in football calendar, despite the fact that we have the talents? Africa needs to rid itself of western influence whether they be france, or england or dutch or spain. They even tell us what to watch on tv too. Now there is Netflix and the likes, where you get to watch all you want and leave african content. We should take the good from them and not the whole package. Africa needs to unite its people with 3major languages.
And thats English, French and Zulu. That way, we can cut off the language barrier that seemingly gives us away when we visit other african nations. Leaders of nations need to put their people first too.

Everything in Africa is inter related no matter what they want us to believe.
#AfricaUnite
I just had time now to read through your comprehensive write up. You went deep and connected football to culture, the economy, music and entertainment. Kudos bro

Never knew the Russian were going to annihilate the Arabians. 5 was way too much for the Arabs to curtail. I'm so sure, this match has quenched all the fire burning in the camp of Saudi Arabia.

They are only left to fight for pride and make sure they don't concede more than 5 goals in their next matches.

They can now go and sleep in peace knowing fully well that they are technically out of the World Cup

I also do not subscribe to that monochromatic description of our team. We should be a team of many flavours.
Exactly!!!

We just need to churn out 100s and maybe purge our league and restructure it to suit a new style of play with all rounder of fresh blood. This way, we would be having SA jealous of our style as we try to catch up with their infrastructure in sports.
