Quick facts: Russia lost 3 (including a loss to Austria) and drew 1 of its last four friendlies, yet they beat Saudi Arabia 5-0. Friendlies don’t mean anything. Our gallant Super Eagles will soar and prevail this Saturday. Happy Eid to those who celebrate it. Good morning. 7 Likes |

My WC expectation Disappointing WC: 1st round Good WC: 2nd round Great WC: Quarter finals. Anything above quarter final would be sensational and a bonus. 5 Likes |

Salah Declared Fit For Egypt Opener Vs Uruguay Egypt head coach Hector Cuper has declared that his team’s talisman Mohamed Salah will play a part in the team’s World Cup opener against Uruguay on Friday. Salah sustained a shoulder injury during Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last month . It had been expected that the winger would be out of contention for Egypt’s first game in Russia but he has bounced back strongly from the setback. Cuper claimed that Salah is ‘almost 100% certain’ to feature against Uruguay in Yekaterinberg on Friday afternoon. “Salah is doing very well indeed, he’s recovered very quickly. We’ll see how it goes today. I can almost assure you 100% he will play, barring any unforeseen factors at the last moment,” the former Inter Milan coach told reporters on Thursday. Salah has scored 33 goals for his country, with the remainder of the 23-man squad in Russia having only netted 33 times between them. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/salah-declared-fit-for-egypt-opener-vs-uruguay/ 1 Like |

Moses: Super Eagles Determined To Beat Strong, Talented Croatia June 14, 2018 10:25 pm Super Eagles forward Victor Moses has urged his Super Eagles’ teammates to remain focused as they begin their Russia2018 World Cup campaign against Croatia on Saturday. The Chelsea star apologized to fans for their poor performance in the friendly games but vowed to be in their best form against Croatia. “We’ve come here a long time here at Esentuki, but I think you can see in the training that we were doing very well. Now there is a match with Croatia, a very strong team, but we are gunning for the win,” he told Croatian outlet sportske.jutarnji.hr. “This game is very important to us because it is very important to start winning and get a good result. We are optimistic, we want to beat Croatia. “Yet these were just friendly matches, although we were sorry we lost, especially against England. But we look good at this point; we will be good in opening game against Croatia. “Croatia is a great team with many top players; they are strong individuals and team. They have a particularly strong midfield and attack, the most important thing for us is to be concentrated, then we can beat Croatia. “The most important thing is not to lose this first game because they are sometimes the most important. Croatia can beat anyone, but Nigeria can beat Croatia. We’ll have to do it like a team.” Moses chose no country as his favorite to win the World Cup. “Everything can happen in our group, all teams can advance,” he added. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/moses-super-eagles-determined-to-beat-strong-talented-croatia/ |
