Good day! I read civil engineering but graduated with 3rd class with no work experience for more than 5yrs. I want to know if with this my degree I can be accessed by Australia Engineer. I have research and read their booklet it seems you must be employed to gain a skilled assessment with them. I don't know if anybody has done assessment without employment here, so am kind of confused right now. Please someone who knows much about this should tell me if it is possible. Thanks... |

Muanya87: Yes you can still assess your skills without having been in any format of employment relevant to civil engineering. All you need do is prepare your CDR based on projects and Internship. You will still get desired outcome of the career episodes are standard and address key issues in the MSA booklet |

odundimple: Are you sure you want to go down this route? So that we are on the same page, Do you mean that you want to manufacture work experience from thin air? This is misrepresentation and I'll advice you don't go ahead with that plan to avoid stories that touch the heart. ...and if that isn't what you meant, pray explain yourself better. |

Step closer to the dream. We (my sis and I ) finally got a positive assessment from EA for chemical engineer dis morning after 1month and 10days and 28working days. Don't know if calling them worked but it was assigned shortly after I contacted them on the 26th day. After 24hrs, we were asked to provide employment verification for a period of 2years the tax certificate was not issued for and I was already prepared for this and obtained receipt from the state govt because we couldn't get the original certificate. I was able to write a cover letter explaining the situation and also backed it up with the receipt and the outcome was granted for professional engineer the next working day. Thanks to majiouk for helping to review the CDR, oga spyroxy for pte help, everyone who keeps giving updates and answering all questions, oga bellong for creating this movement (God bless your for creating such awareness) Advise is to begin the process asap don't bother wasting time just start from somewhere and take it one step at a time because the process is time consuming and one has to be ready to read and research a lot. EA assessment is pretty straightforward if you follow all the guidelines in the handbook but the fasttrack sservice takes longer now so best to join queue when you have almost or all your documents completed. So now onto the next stage EOI done for 189 and 190 (NSW) with 65 points. Hopefully by the time they resume issuing nominations next month she may have bagged 20points with English competency. Thank you all once again, feels good to be moving forward. 11 Likes |

odundimple: Your story is really long. Anyways, how many years was your course? What school and how many years of experience do you have? Acs will most likely deduct more than two years, but the good thing is they don't mind deducting these years from work experience gained before you graduated Uni. Answer the above questions and we will answer you better. |

I'm back again my people. So hubby is the one with a 6 years work experience in aviation telecoms. He was supposed to be the principal applicant, write CDR and all. Now he's saying he's too busy at work, now time. Me I want to pursue my aussie dreams. Truth is, I've been preparing for pte like I was the one writing the exam. I've also done a lot of info gathering to the little of my knowledge. I want to apply as the principal applicant. But I do not have any form of work experience related to my course. Hubby and i studied Electronics and Computer Engineering. I worked as an ICT support staff for just 6 months, worked as a customer service officer in another engineering firm for 2 years before I finally joined the bank where I worked for 2 years before leaving to start my business . The issue here is my CDR. The only career episode I can confidently write is my final. Year project. Even during service year I served with NSCDC. And it's not one bit relaTed to my course. My people, please I need advise and someone that can mentor me through this journey oh. Oya wants to dull my shine but truly I'm so determined. But this CDR issue is a constraint |

odundimple: You need to get references from the companies you did your IT with. If you can't ask someone that works there for statutory declaration. Since you were paid by hand you can attach a letter from the company stating you worked with them and payment was made by cash. Make sure the job roles in the references or declaration aligns with what you are nominating. |

Embassy4u: I just queried why my application wasn't progressing after the advertised 15days and they apologised and told me it will be allocated in 48hrs but was allocated sitting hours of that call. So it could be the call or it was just my turn on the queue. |
