Ok, so, because Iranians live better than igbos or nigerians, the igbos should invite them into igboland for clandestine activities that is capable of destroying igboland? If that's your yardstick, why don't you invite the saudis whose per capita income is five times better than the Iranians. Sure the iranians have done well than africans for the most part but your description of them as a rising power is a joke. Iran has no technological achievement to it's name. Those statistics you pointed out there showing that there are moslems doing better than christians does not NEGATE the real issue which is RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM. You keep belittling christianity, claiming that it has never done anything for the igbos and how the christain powers never supported igbo biafrans. I have proven with my responses that that was false. After you conveniently forgot that nigeria was supported by Egypt and Saudi Arabia, you also have conveniently forgotten the thousands of igbos killed by radical ISLAMIC terrorism over the years. You even claimed that there are some igbos hustling in Saudi Arabia and UAE but you also conveniently forgot to mention the million igbo citizens of christian western countries. I'm still waiting for you to give me a name of any igbo citizen of Saudi Arabia.
You see, I have watched with horror, white bleeding heart LIBERALS making one excuse after another for radical ISLAMIC terrorism. These days, this same lame excuses is not what's galling anymore but the number of years it's been going on after thousands of terrorist attacks.
Some of the excuses are:
1) the moslems are not integrated in their host country. But there are budhist, hindus, atheist, rastafarians, yazidis, zoroastrians etc living in the same countries that have never ever thought about blowing anybody up under any circumstances even when they are not integrated
2) they are not educated. Others like afro europeans are not educated but are not blowing anybody up.
3) they don't have any jobs or are being discriminated against. Afro americans were discriminated for donkey years without them blowing anybody up.
4) the west invaded iraq and afghanistan. Well, I'm not going to defend the west on this, but the west did not wake one day and decided to invade iraq or afghanistan. Having said that, did the west invade nigeria? Did the west invade ivory coast? Did the west invade kenya? How about tanzania, mali or mozambique? Thailand, Indonesia Philippines or China nko? Yes, radical ISLAMIC terrorism have visited all these countries I just mentioned even though they have never been invaded by the west.
So it's very interesting that an Igboman will come on an igbo forum and start making excuses for radical ISLAMIC terrorism and extolling the virtues of ISLAMIC REPUBLICS. I wonder how this Igboman felt the day radical ISLAMIC terrorism was visited on igbos in northern nigeria when tens of them were killed after an incident in FAR AWAY denmark.

Your radicalized islamists in Nigeria are homegrown and inspired by Saudi Arabian Wahabbi sects. Nowhere has the governments of Saudi, Iran or Egypt sponsored terrorist movements in Africa. Which is why Iran built a hospital and not a mosque or school.

Let's get beyond hopeless fear mongering and face facts. Iran, Saudi, UAE all do better for their people than Ugwuanyi and fellow governors who spend every Sunday in church.

While sullivan was a performer, he was politically clueless and ugwuanyi is avoiding his mistakes. You don't go elitist in your first tenure. No matter how good your intentions are, you need to remain in office to bring them to fruition. Fayemi made same sullivan mistake in ekiti and it cost him his seat. Igbo Ekunie Knocks Ethiopian Airline Over Fare Disparity

By ElombahNews on June 15, 2018

The Igbo Ekunie Initiative, an Igbo socio-cultural organization of professionals in Nigeria and the diaspora had written to the Ethiopian Airlines and tasked them to reverse the wide disparity in fares charged to passengers flying to and from Enugu when compared to other airports in Nigeria.

In a letter made available to ElombahNews, the organisation noted that after undertaking a research of the airfare charged by Ethiopian Airline in Nigeria, the organisation noticed that there existed a very wide array of disparity between the fares passengers pay to different destinations from Enugu compared to other International airports in Nigeria.

Igbo Ekunie noted that a situation where a passenger from Kuala Lumpur pays N343, 000 to fly to Enugu, while the same passenger would pay N170, 000 to fly to Lagos or N192, 000 to Kano is highly discriminately against Ndigbo who mostly fly to and from Enugu.

Disparities were noticed on other routes as well.

Igbo Ekunie further noted that beyond being a monopoly on the Enugu route, there was no other logical justification for such wide fare disparities by the same airline flying to the same country.

Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke and Mr Agu Onwuamaeze the head of the Economic Directorate, made their stance clear in the letter signed by the President of the organisation

They argued that the fare disparities have forced a lot of people to travel to other cities rather than go through Enugu to save cost.
n responding to the letter addressed to the company CEO, the Ethiopian Airline manager at Enugu airport, Mr Solomon Mekonnen, thanked Igbo Ekunie for taking the time to write.

He promised that they have immediately started reviewing all their fares to Enugu and making the necessary adjustments.

“we are working with our pricing department for some adjustments on our fares, and within few days we will adjust our fares where we have a huge fare difference compared to Lagos or Abuja” he said.

In a recent communication to Igbo Ekunie, the Ethiopian Airline confirmed that they have lived up to their promise by reviewing the fares and adjusting them to reflect fair pricing comparable to other routes in Nigeria.

The Airline further informed the organisation of their new route to Enugu from  Manchester United  Kingdom,  Chicago United States, and Barcelona Spain effective this December, and also their plans to increase their services to Enugu from three to four days a week.

It will be recalled that the Ethiopian Airline started flying into Enugu since August 2014, and they recently landed a Boeing 787 900 series in Enugu in January this year as a testament to its growing customer base.

They carried the most international passengers from Nigeria of any airline in 2017.

Igbo Ekunie, therefore, calls on all passengers from the South East and surrounding states to increase their patronage of Ethiopian Airline via Akanu Ibiam International Airport since the fares have been adjusted to reflect fair pricing comparable to other routes in Nigeria.

The organisation also reasons that improved patronage through Enugu will also help keep the airfares competitive, and lead to further increases in the frequency of Ethiopian Airline international flights to Enugu.

Just checked Ethiopian Airlines website, looks like they have amended their price from enugu...looks like there isn't much price difference when flying from enugu compared to flying from Lagos. For example, flying from enugu to Kuala Lumpur is about 30,000naira dearer compared to whem flying from lagos.

Someone can also confirm. Please umunna, fly directly to enugu. I and my family will be fying directly to Enugu from Australia using ET this December.

I agree with your hard-hitting sarcasm!

Some of us are either blissfully ignorant or pretend not to know that the political-economy of Nigeria is rigged against Umuigbo and Alaigbo, and this would include the aviation sector as well!

Why do you think since the coming of Buhari and APC that AIIA Enugu is no more mentioned in the same breath with the airports like Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt like was the case when GEJ was president!?

Even this little one AIIA is seeing courtesy of Yar'Adua and GEJ, it's paining some people like hell! It's getting close to a decade now and the new terminal is still an empty shell...almost still at the stage GEJ left it!

I wonder if those glass panes damaged in a storm about two years ago have finally been fixed. undecided

3 in the south and 2 in the north is a regional anomaly which we ourselves will complain against if it favored the north. Maybe enugu will be matched with another one in the north in the next phase.

So you've bought into this their lie that everything in the country should be done on an equal 50-50 basis? I had a feeling they were seething during GEJs tenure at the recognition given AIIA, and the neglect it's getting under this wicked administration now begins to make sense!

Enugu was the regional capital of the old eastern region, yes or no? If the answer is yes, then why the fuc/k has its airport been downgraded to 2nd tier below Kano, Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt?

On the day of our so called independence, how many regions did we have, and were they split evenly between the north and the south? While you dumb southerners were sleeping (that's if you're actually Igbo), the north has craftily made it the norm...the convention that everything should be shared on a 50-50 basis between the north and the south! And they always end up cheating even further when they put it in the useless constitution that unproductive land mass and population should be a criteria to be considered in the allocation of resources! They even went the extra mile of removing the highest oil and gas producing parts of Igboland and placed them in Rivers State just to 'deal with us' further!

Fact of the matter is that the south SHOULD have more int'l gateways than the north b'cos it's the goose that lays the golden egg! The only criteria should be economic viability, and historical/political reasons, not any 50-50 nonsense! Enugu was the capital of the old eastern region at independence, and to now downgrade it to be below that of Lagos, Kano and Port Harcourt is just wickedness!

You see how 'one Nigeria' is working against Ndigbo? Anything being done in Alaigbo now has to be watered down because part of the funds would be used to do similar stuff in the north to 'balance things out'! If there's no city or state in the north ready for said project/investment (and since we take 2nd pickings after Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt and Abuja as you're alluding to), then we have to wait our turn like 'obedient slaves'!

Lol. Enugu airport was never in the same class with the four major airports. Ibadan and kaduna were regional capitals too and theirs are still local. Economic viability is the only strong point we may have, but at the moment kano international traffic is almost enugu and PH combined. So we keep growing the traffic till we beat any of the big Four. We are happy that it has maintained steady commercial flights unlike many other international airport that only record international flights during hajj

Dude, no make me swear for you this early morning!

I've just been watching NTA network news on transportation facilities in the 6 geopolitical zones! Was just shaking my head in disbelief at the wickedness of the Buhati admin' and the gullibility of those 'one Nigeria' Igbos in APC!

They showed a sexy and clean looking Kaduna airport which they said is now upgraded to int'l status and can take flights from any destination in the world...they were bigging it up big time! We were told by Captain Mohammed Joji that the airport can take Jumbo jets and even the largest aircraft in the world: A380.

The Kaduna inland dry port is up and running. I saw containers being handled and they said agents are moving down to Kaduna from Lagos as they said Lagos ports are congested. This is as the Onitsha river port is being taken over by weeds and wild animals!

They showed the swanky new Kaduna-Abuja rail line.

On Port Harcourt Int'l, i saw work going on in the new terminal...they showed it. This was one of the 5 new terminals started during the Odua tenure...the others being Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Enugu. They said it would be launched in july i think.

While they showed ongoing works on the Lagos-Ibadan new rail line, that of the eastern corridor that would include the SE...they said 'discussions are at an advanced stage'!

Now coming to the SE what did they show? All they showed was a dilapidated AIIA Enugu....and i could see some ceiling panels missing! They didn't show the new terminal building...all they said was that it's at 65% completion! NTA visited the airport with a tv camera crew, and the new terminal building being the major construction work at the airport wasn't shown...all they said was that work is at 65%! No comment!

For AIIA, they also talked of a few other things like the extended runway which they said is 3,000 meters length; runway edge lights illuminated; fire trucks and water overhead water tanks; the car park has been extended; and they said a new aircraft apron is under construction. For this one they showed what looked like a lone hungry looking guy mixing cement with a shovel (no sign of any construction coy whatsoever, never mind one of int'l standard like Julius Berger), with some area having been cemented already...i guess this will be the floor for the snazzy new 'aircraft apron' they talked about....can't wait! shocked

What i'm trying to show by narrating what i saw on the network news is that Ndigbo are being taken for fools...being taken for a expensive ride! Remember they've already gotten Abuja and Kano...yet while we were not looking, they sneakily went and upgraded kaduna to int'l status while almost abandoning AIIA Enugu! I'm not sure, but i'd imagine Kaduna is still taking int'l flights that started when they gave the excuse that they wanted to divert int'l flights there b'cos of runway works at Abuja airport! You've got to admire their sneakiness if not anything else!

As per your post: you say (almost mockingly) that AIIA Enugu was never in the same class with the four 'major airports' as you put it! These airports are Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt! Enugu airport that existed long before that of Abuja, and which could have grown organically to be one of the busiest in the country if not for the wicked ethno-religious inspired politics we operate in this cursed country! You think AIIA wouldn't have trounced Kano in aircraft and passenger traffic if it had been running int'l services since the 70s like Kano airport has been doing that makes you feel funky!? Even now as we speak, AIIA still only has one int'l airline flying its route (since 2012 when it commenced int'l flight operations), while Kano has up to three....i think!

I remember when in 2012 the int'l operations started at AIIA, we were all talking excitedly of which next airline and routes would be added in a few months down the line....and then Buhari appeared on the scene and our fortunes changed for the worse!

Like i said, dude no make me swear for you oh! sad

I don't know how you can suggest that the wahhabis are responsible for radical ISLAMIC terrorism in one sentence and then claim that the saudi government was not responsible for their end results in the next sentence. That's an oxymoron. The establishment of the wahhabi sect have totally and completely RUINED many countries like Afghanistan, Somalia and Pakistan. These countries will never ever amount to anything forever and ever. They have been damaged for good.
These islamic groups are masters of endurance. All they need is to plant their seed in igboland. THEY DON'T MIND WAITING FOR FIVE HUNDRED YEARS for the end result. Their belief is that if they can get even one Igbo moslem today, that could germinate to become 5,000,000 million igbo moslems five hundred years from now. This is something they have already accomplished in yorubaland. I'll even venture to say that Yoruba christains will be a tiny minority in yorubaland five hundred years from now.
You also seem to be going around the circle instead of confronting the main issue. Why do you keep bringing up the fact that Iran, saudi arabia and UAE do better for their people as if to suggest that their religion was solely responsible for that. Is nigeria now and in the past not ruled by moslems? Is Mali not a 95% moslem country? Is Guinea and Niger republic not 90% moslem. Are these moslem countries I just mentioned doing better than christain countries in africa? So, please hang it up if you don't have anything else to say than repeating how the oil richly drenched countries with tiny populations are living better than africans.
Like I said before, the Iranians are quite welcome to build any factory in igboland. My hunch tells me that they are not interested in that. The iranians are coming to igboland THE LARGEST CHRISTIAN TRIBE IN AFRICA to start a SHIITE sect like they did in kaduna state. That is exactly why they chose the CHARITY (hospital) route, because what they are trying to do will never work with steel factory or persian rug factory or any other factory for that matter.

The bitter truth that some people don't want to admit here is that Akanu Ibiam airport is not viable. If you look at the international airports in PH, Kaduna, Kano, and Abuja, you will see that there are robust economic activities in those cities hosting the airports to sustain the airports. Enugu is dull and dormant economically. The people who used to sustain that airport are anambra business men who have now switched patronage to the Asaba airport pending the completion of the Anambra international airport. The fact is that wawa people are too poor to sustain an airport. Replicate LAX in enugu and it will still collapse under one year as a result of low patronage.

Before you guys turn this place into a religous thread tell our governor to the following:
1. Constructing roads with open gutter/drainage and no side walk must stop.

2. Modern public transport system. Gariki, newmarket and other
'motor parks' should be upgraded.

3. IVM long buses and mini buses should be used for public transport.

4. Upgrading our current central business district or mapping out a new one is a must.

5. Every building must have a portable water system connected to a central water station. "Wells" should be discouraged, you dont find such in developed countries.

6. Landscaping is must. An open central greenish park; something like Okpara Square but the surface ll be natural grass.

7. Decent public primary and secondary school in every local
government.

8. Well equipped hospital in every senatorial zone with Parklane as
the central site. Parklane has to be upgraded with staff and modern healthcare protocol.

9. We need malls and modern markets. Ogbete, Gariki and New market are just an eyesore.

The issue of religion is a BIG BIG deal that shouldn't be swept under the rug. I'm not trying to be rude but what I'm revealing to the GENERAL IGBO PUBLIC here is much more important than the 570 pages of discussion here on the developmental projects in igboland.

I gave some hints on the upheavals in the moslem world that has been bubbling for the past twenty years. Right now, there's trouble brewing in western europe where a radical shift from LIBERAL democracies to RIGHT WING CONSERVATISM have just taken place. The icing on the cake was the Hungarian election where Victor Oban just won re-election with super majority in parliament. He SOLELY ran his election on an anti islam platform based on not taking one single moslem refugee. He clearly and boldly stated in no unmistaken terms that he doesn't want europe to go from being a CHRISTIAN continet to a MOSLEM one. Like I said before, western europe which was hitherto known as the bastion of LIBERALISM that allowed the importation of millions of moslems since the early seventies have all of a sudden came to a screeching abrupt end and have instead reversed cause. Anti moslem parties are now springing up all over europe.
Europeans don't hate moslems. Moslems are human beings after all. They just hate radical ISLAMIC terrorism. Like I said, they voluntarily took in millions of moslem refugees only for it to backfire with the children's of these refugees blowing up their towns and cities. SO NOW THEY DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH MOSLEMS. Nowadays, something UNBELIEVABLE is now the order of the day. The word German jihadist, French jihadist, British jihadist, Australian jihadist, etc etc have entered the english lexicon. This is very shocking to the average european who don't understand how they got to this current situation. But they have themselves to blame. You see, at one time, islamic armies were conducting JIHAD after JIHAD. They even toppled the capital of the christian Byzantine empire then known as Constantinople now Istanbul. They marched into Serbia and forcibly converted Serbians, today's Bosnians. They were marching towards the center of europe but were defeated at the GATE OF VIENNA. If that did not happen, today's europeans with the exception of few countries like the British isles would have been practicing moslems. So, having failed through the front door, moslems are now trying to swamp europe through the back door as refugees. At first, the europeans were merciful and showed their kindness by taking these moslem refugees into their countries, until radical ISLAMIC terrorist started showing their real colours. The europeans just woke up one day from the SLUMBER, looked around them and started seeing mosques springing up from every corner. Lo and behold, moslems were mayors of some of their biggest cities like Rotterdam, Birmingham and London. As I'm talking to you right now, they are freaking out, wondering what happened.
So, now, in europe, anti moslem parties are springing up like mushrooms. Like I said before, anti moslem parties are the biggest opposition group in the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Norway and Germany, while they have won governing elections in Austria, Denmark, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Czech republic, Romania and Slovakia They just won the election in Slovenia that was conducted a few days ago. What is happening right now in europe is unprecedented.
Some of you are CLUELESS in the kinds of things happening all over the world, so I'm gonna excuse those who think that I'm fear mongering. You know, a few years ago when some europeans started having angst about the problem of people with a totally different cultures from them, they were labelled fear mongerers. These days, they are known as PATRIOTS.

Like i said, dude no make me swear for you oh! sad
hahahaha i like it when igbos cry like this.oga this long write up we never add anything,By 2023 when a yrouba man take over from bubu una eye go clear well well, mark this somewhere you cry cry we never take you anywhere because ohaneze ndiigbo, south east govs and 60% of igbos are useless.i can't wait for 2023 to come.ndi ara.

The Igbos deserve the political marginalization that is on-going. I went to Enugu Airport last december to meet someone. Arriving from Abuja were a bunch of Senators including Andy Uba to spend their christmas. The window of AIIA was blown out. The floor was filthy. Most of the FAAN people in that airport are Igbo. Uba and his colleagues entered their convoys en-route to their mansions without a care. Obiano, Ugwuanyi or their representatives use the Enugu Airport at least once a month to attend FAAC meetings in Abuja. If they are not ashamed at this display then who should be?
