PDPGuy:Yes Iheanacho and Simy Would be a sharp front, both has pace and are hungry. Iwobi as AMF. Oh my I Mikel as our AMF is frustrating. Iwobi with the ball is always lethal! Mikel should drop back from that AMF position ejor! 1 Like |

How do you expect him to do the crosses when he's playing behind Moses who was bossing that wing? how is this so difficult for you to grasp? the goal Iwobi scored against Zambia, who gave him that cross from the wing? Were you expecting him to outrun Moses so that he can cross thereby exposing the RB for Perisic to feast on? your argument is not going anywhere man. for the formation used yesterday, he did no wrong, in a 3:5:2, the RB automatically becomes RWB/FB, was that what we played yesterday? we played the same formation with the Croats yesterday, please how many of their attacks was started by their RB/LB? Maybe if he was played as the RB in a 3:5:2, then and then would your points stand. I give up oga. looking forward to the next game. TheSuperNerd: |

MetalJigsaw:Ighalo wasn't pacy enough. Well,If Ighalo shall start next,he should be partnered with Iheanacho, but really I prefer Simy to Ighalo. Ighalo hardly charge the defenders when without the ball. |

PDPGuy:Very true, reason the glass house will always prefer foreign coaches, it's racket for them. Bad belle is the major reason we can't have a local coach for the eagles as no sane local coach will have anybody share from his salary. Another major issue NFF had with keshi then and he was owed his salary for months |

Kog45:i had that impression too at the bolded but when i watched the full pre match conference it didnt come off as defeatist for him to say that the team is a team for the future. my worry now is this: does this team have the will and determination to climb this high mountain that they have set before themselves? |

Hahahahahahahaha... It is so very clear now that you indeed are only defending this dude. So when Moses was on the ball and controlled on more than three occasions with a Shehu abdullahi running up on the other side of the right, you don't know it is natural for him as a fullback to exploit that space by opening up for moses to send the pass and keep attack flowing and bombing up that right? Moses passed to Shehu in space in a few of these occasions and instead of Shehu to bomb forward and try pick a cross, he just easily held the ball, looked up and reversed only to pass backwards or sideways. He didn't offer us an outlet unlike Idowu did the few times we attacked through Idowu's wings. This is why that Ighalo soft header on target came via Idowu's wing. Shehu was so so so frustratingly poor offensively. So you haven't watched how wingers work with their fullbacks when in attacking transition abi? Hahahahaha I laugh oooo... I wonder who then is the one finding such a simple concept to grasp. Shehu offered us nothing offensively and was very timid and devoid of invention and dare going forward. He could not move forward to exploit the space for a cross... He could not open up by running into that space to charge down into the box from that channel... He was always and always turning away from space and going backwards and sideways. He should kindly for this good of this team take a backseat for Ebuehi who is obviously a better player in that role. This is the same Shehu I praised and always hailed for his consistent solid displays during the WCQs but let truth be told, we have a better RB and fine upgrade in Ebuehi. somehow: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:Thought Ebuehi was injured at the nose a reason for his not starting? Truthfully The overlapping and attacking intent of Ebuehi could have relieved Moses of over holding the ball. Shehu had a good match though. |

The reports said he recovered and trained fully with the team in the next training session. Ebuehi is fit. Shehu had a decent game defensively with some thanks to Moses too. I recall on two occasions Shehu coming to our rescue with good clearances... But mehn offensively... The guy was another story. JSMMUYIWA: |

The 2014 World Cup,we lost to France from corner. Same as the header from Argentina. Our Friendlies we lost from this same corner. Yesterday both goals concede was from Corners too. Why is Set-Piece our perennial problem? Anything aside Simy and Iheanacho upfront. Iwobi as AMF in next match, with Ebuehi as our RB,am sorry could be distrastrous. We need mobile, pacy and ambitious forwards. |

Fellow Eagulians, we got what we deserved in the Match - 0 Point. We played nothing, we didn't play like Professionals at all. It was like Rohr just picked 11 Players and asked them to win the Match on their own. There is nothing Positive to pick from the Match except we wanna fool ourselves. We need to compare other Teams with us, it's like Oshodi FC locking on with Arsenal FC - we are indeed disorganized as Javier Pointed out. We were harmless, toothless and careless. No zeal at all from the Players to win the Match. No cohesion, lame attacking-threat, shambolic Display, poor positioning and off Ball Movements; Nothing really is positive. The worst part is Mikel; he was lost, completely lost and couldn't be found. Mujtahida was right, we played Naija Team, not a typical Nigeria Team. The Croats locked up the middle, and no one in the Midfield could unlock it. Had Iwobi played as an AM, he would have been positive for the Team. Everyone knows what's good for the Team, except Rohr. I hope he tweaks his Philosophy as TheGoodJoe opined, otherwise this World Cup gonna be worse than the 2002 Edition. 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:Really? Then Rohr's tactics isn't clear to me then, how did Shehu bettered Ebuehi in the friendlies? Hope this isn't some politicking? We can only use Shehu for only defensive mindset. If we really want to up our attack to make some points, and Ebuehi isn't starting ahead of Shehu,we are really in for it.Ebuehi has the pace, dribbling, and one-two instincts with wingers than Shehu. |

Ighalo offers nothing.. No aggression, no runs nothing.. It is not a coincidence that he goes on extended barren runs for club and country. If Iheanacho is given as much time as Ighalo, he would do better, I have no doubt. Sadiq Umar as raw as he is, will do better. 4 Likes |

Victor Moses, as skillful as he is, can certainly be a liability. Our second half line-up against Argentina played really well, no unnecessary dribbling and diving. Those are the players that should start. 1 Like |

Sadly and unfortunately, thanks to a heavy dose of conservatism, Shehu is Rohr's first choice RB. And I can only keep supporting the team whether it is Shehu or Ebuehi picked at RB. JSMMUYIWA: |

Honestly, when I stumbled on the lineup and formation for yesterday's game on website I struggled to believe my eyes. Even though it was coming from a reliable source like my favorite Completesports.com. Because for me, the only thing that would make Rohr neglect the ever effective and essential 3-5-2 formation ( at least for that match) is if he's on some kind of drug or he's simply gone mad (no insult intended). When I finally confirmed it on TV I was shocked! I immediately knew we're in deep sh!t... not only in the game but having Rohr as our coach. He confirm it to every one that he's only been lucky in his past exploits with the team. You need to see how I was wincing in bitterness and disappointment in Gernot Rohrs foolishness. For God's sake even a kid would easily point out the ideal formation for this team after the six good friendlies... A team suffering from little or lack of creative/ intelligent personnel in the middle. A team that struggles to hold possession and exchange good passes comfortably. Against one of the bast midfield combos in the world. You can't match them with a three man midfield that is much more inferior (because the two side midfielders flanking the AMwill practically play as wingers even if it's a 4-2-3-1). The worst part of this was pushing a deadly Alex Iwobi at one side of the pitch when he's supposed to play right behind the striker to cause havoc with his footwork and dangerous passes. Rohr should have gotten that this guy is the new hair to that role. At least currently Go watch our last three matches. Rohr should have noticed that Mikel has lost his creative/ attacking touch after the last three games and Iwobi is now the real deal in that role. We all saw what Iwobi did against England- the pass he gave to Ighalo which the striker rattled the post with before Iwobi sharply got the rebound. Tell me when last such we saw such a sublime pass in the SE. And as for Tyrone, I really pity that boy. What else does he have to prove to Rohr After the last two friendlies I stated here that some of us here a far better than Rohr. For get that he's white or he's a so called 'tactician'. He's just fortunate. He deserves no where near coaching a big footballing nation like Nigeria. |

AIG07:i have always trumped it up that that cliche is seriously dated and i always made reference to character of this age. that cliche worked in former times when culture was stable and less prone to change. growing up many us witnessed our parents using the same household appliances for twenty, even thirty years because the manufacturers didnt change or innovate. today we change phones, tv, and other appliances frequently. today's culture is dynamic. it was my reading of the prevailing cultural mileau of our times()what germans call zeitgeist) across all aspects of human life that made me realize that the-you-never-change- a-winning- team idea cannnot work. a coach must be ready to tweak and rejig his system. from the qualifiers till now rohr refused to change tactics and game squad even though the personnel as in the 23 he choose can do the job 3 Likes |
