and now mikel has reduce in confident and now should be replaced by iwobi, football team is not created by cut and join at every obstacle.

Germany will play with almost same team in there next game, I'm not saying Rohr should use same players against iceland but we forget that iwobi has played more of his professional game in that same position you guys claim to be out of position.

let this team breath, even the so called big team are struggling, we don't have better players than them
So What you're now telling me is that Mikel is still the best as AM?

The Super Eagles played their foundational 4-3-3 formation against the Croats and it backfired.

★We should go back to our big game magical 3-5-2 and we should stick to our most balanced formation because we attack in numbers with the aid of eight players having at the back of their mind that they have defensive responsibilities.

★Playing less pacy Mikel and Ighalo together bumper to bumper in a fast tempo game of this magnitudes won't bear goals.

★Why do we have to play a lone striker who seems to lack some movement and pressing prowess or some bullish traits you see in Costa or Drogba?

Why can’t we have Iwobi and Kelechi combination like against Argentina?

The problem is this formation leaves no room for Moses, almost like we are accommodating Moses and Mikel this world Cup to the detriment of the team.

At the last World Cup,Moses didn't live up to expectations he sat for Ahmed Musa or Michael Babatunde but now,it appears there’s no competition for the big guys like Odion Ighalo,Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel.

★Moses and Mikel will both be valuable assets to the team if they are instructed to pass faster than usual rather than slowing the transition and allowing oppositions to regroup.

★The Midfield was more balanced with Ndidi-Mikel-Etebo and the combination of Iwobi-Iheanacho further forward will be full of visionary passes, they will be simple, precise and business oriented than the present forward combination.

★Iceland are compact and it takes tactically disciplined and a serious attacking team play to break them down unit by unit.

Now this is the formation and the above is the gospel truth if we want to attack. This bruh nailed it, killed it and buried it totally

Tunisia came into the second half to play a draw and I wonder how they expect that to work shocked with the flood of attacks from England
Now 4 African countries down in the first matches at the WC very poor!

Yeah they are, but there is gonna be a tweak in the Lineup and Tactics.

if we play 3 - 5 - 2, I will hope for a Midfield Trio of Ndidi, Mikel and Etebo. Ndidi and Mikel gonna play Deep while Etebo plays as B2B Midfielder, with Iheanacho and Ighalo Upfront.

Also we will play more on the Flanks than Middle, hence I hope we have capable Crossers and Nodders. I will surely go with Tyrone as a RWB and Moses as a LWB. Tyrone's Wing gonna be used the most.

I'm afraid we will get lost with 3 Upfront in a 3 - 4 - 3 Formation, except we wanna play with invited Wing-forwards who will be drifting to the Middle to join in the buildup.

I will play Iheanacho as a Striker in this Formation, Moses and Etebo as Wing-forwards, Idowu and Tyrone as Wing-backs and Ndidi and Mikel as DMs.
Doubt the coach will do this. We shall keep hoping

Although this could be medicine after death but I do think the team needs a world class psychologicist in times like this. I think we highlighted on this point in our thread world cup 10 pointer championed by Icon4s.
I get the sense that the players are scared out of their minds now after the loss and moreso with the abuse on their social media.
I noticed Leon Balogun deactivated comments on his Instagram page.
The team really needs a psychologist because I forsee fear and lack of self believe creeping into the players. Some will even be to careful to avoid mistake, thereby making lots of mistake as a result. Coupled with the fact the team is inexperienced at this level, could be even a more humiliating performance.

I'm not saying this because I expect the team to win the group but I don't want Nigeria to be embarrassed.

Since the England game, I have been saying that these folks were lacking in confidence but some people her say they are meant to be professionals, stage fright against european teams have been the bane of this present team, doubt if there can be any remedy now

Good word Bro. I am even surprised at the groundswell of emotions and pain Nigerians experienced in the loss. I obviously buried my head in this thread and forgot that Nigerians still are passionate about their team.

Imagine if we had won!

Forget all those people gnashing teeth n using insulting words they love the team to the core but there are just typical Africans that will never tell their children I love you or give their children common hug but they will be using raging words on children.

All roads were cleared, mothers, Wives, girlfriends grandpa n grandmas saw the match.. It was just a shock and unavoidable defeat... I Just need to console a friend of mine when she was raging after the match...
Told her we win some we loss some and we still have two matches to go.. That means we can do it.

This too shall pass... Waiting patiently for Iceland match

Did you see the video the Iceland goalkeeper directed for his team sponsored by coca-cola? When watching just kept remembering your Vikings clapping lol.. Nice video though.

Though I understand the ritual significance of that prayer thing, it looks childish abeg. Let them pray in their dressing room. Jesus ma advocated secrecy in prayers. Three times too much.
Thank you my brother. At least their are sensible people here.

We complain about fifa rating, but the reality is African teams are not good enough. Another corner kick and we are done for. From Egypt to Morocco to Tunisia to Nigeria.

When it becomes a pattern it is no longer coincidence. Until we start taking every aspect of the game seriously we will not develop.

As a fan I am hopeful. Maybe one day but from what I have seen, definitely not this world cup. We should just save ourselves the heartache abeg. Lol....

The Croats are damn tall. Even as tall as Ndidi is he was dwarf beside Loren. Yet we kept playing high set pieces. How do we intend beating them that way.

the tunisian team is decent but lacked that cutting edge moving forward which i will say is down to lacking big tournament experience and exposure which is common among African teams. the english team i saw today is shit and relied more on harry kane to snatch the win.

We started having problem curtailing them when we started opening space for them through poor positioning to operate.

All Modric's ball for the first 15minutes was towards our Right side. It shows that they took their time to study each of our players and know their weekends.

Chan is a category 3 tournament rated by FIFA on par with Afcon. If a guy was out jumping very tall Sudanese players, trust me that person should be noted.
This idea of writing off homegrown solution is the reason we will never do well in a competition like the world cup.

The failings of foreign coaches employed by Nigeria in recent past can be traced to their jettison of home made solutions. We employ people who are not even resident in Nigeria. I saw your write up the other day complaining about Rohr and his lack of knowledge of Nigerian football culture, I smiled and scrolled past. How do you expect a man resident in France to understand the footballing culture of Nigeria? Vogts, Lagerback and now Rohr haven't managed to cracked it and they were all coaching Nigeria from Europe.
Compare these guys with Westerhof who helped develop Nigeria football from the grassroots. The man knew particular tribes where he will scout and get particular type of players.

Back to the issue of sentiments, trust me my Intel about Eze's performance didn't come from roadside bloggers. You will be shocked if I mentioned my source.
You couldn't have said it any better. Kpom!

Since Nigeria lost to Croatia, i have lost interest in watching any other game at the world cup. Although i watched all the early games before Nigeria's game. Now i have lost the vibe to watch any other until probably our next match. Nigeria should not end my worldcup this early o. Who else is in my shoes?
The only game I watched after ours was Ger vs Mex up till now

People dey really read for this thread. Bro, I hail.

Many people here think like Rohr: average team =defeat.

I wonder why they are criticising him.

That average team talk is something I will never buy. Call it naivete or whatever. You are as average as your guts. Shikena.

Thank you my man. I had to quote this and share it.
So many teams have won tournaments despite not being the best. It's all in the collective mind of the people. Rhor failed us when it mattered most: motivating this team. Why tell them that they're average and hence cannot win?

Was Portugal not avearage when they won Euro? Was Greece not average? Was Porto not average?Who's Chile compared to Brazil and Argentina yet they won back to back trophy? Real Madrid was not even the best team this past two seasons. They only won because they believe they can do it (outside factors may have contributed but self believe was paramount).

I was seriously demoralized. The lost was painful. The manner it came was even more painful. Then the comments from the number person we look up to was even far more painful.

If you were a club mgt, will you go for a below average player in transfer window? If we were that average why was it possible breeze through the qualifiers with so much ease? If we were average why didn't we allow Zambia or even Cameroon to rep Africa? It's disgusting.

Each time we loose Rhor is always coming up with excuse and that excuse has never been his own error in judgement.

Their culture is one of power, brotherliness and nobility. I could feel their bond pulsating through the video. No swag, just raw but real power. They are a confident people.
