NTEL And Their Incompetencies - SCAM!!!!!!!! by LetMyPeopleGo: 8:40am On Jun 19, 2018
As most Ntel users will know, they went off the grid two weeks ago and were not able to provision new customers due to a reported "Upgrade". Already existing customers were browsing free of charge for a week!!!

1. I got their WAWU SIM shortly after they announced their systems were working properly last week. I got registered immediately at their office and was promised my SIM will be activated in 24 hours.

2. It sounded weird that 24 hours will be used to activate a SIM. This should take seconds with Glo, MTN et al. I had to confirm with the customer care agent about the timeframe being too long. She rudely responded that "What if I tell you 2 hours and it doesn't work".

3. 24 hours later my SIM had not been activated. I went to their office to register complains. They told me to relax.

4. 48 hours later I went to their office. They said their staffs at the back-end who are involved in the activation have not done it. She suggested I get another SIM. I was shocked. She wanted me to relinquish the N1,000 I used to register the initial SIM and get another?? And there was no guarantee it will work.

5. This is a week and I have been communicating with their twitter handler and I have been given assurances that it will be rectified all to no avail. The responses are beginning to feel like it's a bot. Generic!!

6. It is one of two things. It's either the company has incompetent management and staff or they have bitten more than what they can chew. Trying to behave like Glo - getting in more customers than they can handle.

7. I went on twitter to confirm If I was the only one experiencing such issue. I found out that those who registered their SIMS around same period I did last week have similar issues with activation.

If NTEL is not ready for business, they should close down and stop scamming people of their hard earned money. cry cry angry

It's a lie. Ntel is the best thing to happen to data users. Thank God I discovered the network since January this year and it's been from glory to glory. Airtel have not seen my 1 kobo ever since and they'll never see it.

Happy for you. But, this issue is for those who want to join the network.

Many bought SIMS and yet have not been able to use it. I'm not doubting if the network is good or not!!!!

OP call their customer care line on 0700 ntel live (press the corresponding number to the letters) and tell them your line is activation barred. I had the same problem, I bought a WAWU Sim and a conventional SIM on Monday 11th June. Normal SIM started working immediately but WAWU wasn't activated. Called C-care last Saturday, line got activated within 24 hours. Still waiting for dem to give me d free 10GB sha, but I don't care. 3k gives you 48GB which other network you go see dat one?

Same thing happened to me last week. After getting the SIM and being promised a 24hrs activation time, no show. After calls to their customer care and emails that were never responded to; my first SIM was activated after 48hrs the second SIM took an extra 48hrs. And then came all the mails and messages.

Just be patient it will be done. My only problem with them is their woeful customer service. All it would take is a call or mail or even an SMS to plead with one to be patient wile they work on the problem. I guess in nigeria one never admits to being wrong. We wait to see how it all pans out. Cheers

I had same problem, it was showing emergency calls only for two days. They said it would come up but it never did. I thought it's likely from the new phone I bought (xaiomi Redmi 5plus). A friend asked me to bring the phone, he dialed a code while the phone was in flight mode and quickly selected LTE only and in 10 seconds NTEL was up and blazing. I don't know the bonus they gave me but I've used 6gb so far.

They'll send u text messages and emails but u can check on your own. When u're connected even if it's not browsing but the network is steady, type www.myntel.com.ng and login in using Ur assigned number. It will give u a summary of Ur service offerings

Thanks. When I tried logging in, I got a response saying "Error..." bla bla bla. Could it be the SIM is not good?

Also, I did not get 2 SIMS as some people described. I got just 1.

How do you subscribe 3k for 48gb on ntel?

Load 3k on your WAWU Sim den tell the ntel people to activate dat plan. Instead of paying 1k for my WAWU , I paid 3k (1k+ another 2k) after they registered me.

If the SIM is active u should be gotten a text message giving u Ur OTP and then another with Ur SIM number. If u got those then even without activation u can log into myntel. Secondly they no longer give 2sims don't ask me why. U always thought the 1gb SIM was a waste. Cos after the one gig the SIM becomes useless, so I believe they added it to the 10gig on the single sim

I also got one sim. I spent about #2000 transport to get the sim as I visited the office twice. Solution to the error issue is that you have to personally register yourself as a new subscriber. I was stuck for like 3 days;infact I got a mail I have been barred before customer care put me through. The data has been SUPERB

Some people sha, just open trend and calling a company scam for something you could have called their customer care for... We need to learn how not escalate matters that can easily be resolved in this country... I opened the trend expecting something much more serious. Most of us have used more than one network and there have been times for days mtn, glo etc won't make calls, Internet won't work etc... Machines develop faults, some years ago Toyota called back a chain of camry cars they sold because it had fault, iPhone had bendgate recently, Samsung had batteries blowing up... Make una dey take things easy jor...

When your SIM has been activated NTEL will give you 10GB free data. Once that bonus expires the 1k that you paid will give you another 12GB. In essence you get 22GB for 1k first recharge. I'm supposed to get cumulative data of 58GB.

If I hadn't explored all options, I won't open a thread dear.

I've used my credit to call customer care all to no avail. Today I called for a cumulative 15minutes with my MTN SIM and nobody responded.

Before you throw the first stone, ask questions..

NTEL WAWU data bundles;
1k=12GB
2.5K=24GB
3K=48GB
7.5K=96GB

All bundles are at 500% bonus for 1 year after SIM activation e.g. 3k normally gives you 8GB but because of 500% bonus you get 48GB (8GB+40GB)

Note: You can't subscribe for unlimited data bundle on WAWU Sim.
