Umahi you cant dictate to us how and what to name our street and nobody is looking down on you ,so, stop, feeling inferior. Ebonyi people has not contributed anytbing except littering the whe space. Go to Umuoji and see how these people are trashing our home town.

An advice for Umahi, if you say you are the fastest developing state then pull your people out of Anambra and they can go back and enjoy the divided of your governance. Do not soil the name of Anambra...Anambra has singlehandedly carried Ndi Igbo on our shoulders. Biko, keep quiet.

The chief mumu has spoken!!

Anambra is very welcoming to all Igbos.

The Vice Chancellor of Unizik is an Imo man.
The Anambra state chief press secretary is from Enugu.

But these people will never allow us hold a post in their state....We are not fools!

Obiano should return the name back to Abakaliki.

I am from Anambra South and would not want trivial matter as street name to come between us and our Ebonyi brothers.

The question a casual observer would ask is,
how many other similar streets did he rename?

We don't owe you any explanation.

Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Anambra and Enugu states are brothers by blood and so shall it remain forever. Minor disagreements must happen but we always settle and live in peace and harmony always. None of these states hate each other and we intermarry as one people.

All attempts by outsiders to divide us must always fail.

You just listed the states that are 'brothers', when it is time for Biafra now, you will add Benue, Rivers, and half of the Niger Delta.

God will place me exactly there and u know it.

Igbo need to move forward, we cannot do so with trash talk and behaviour.

WE have bigger social, economic and regional problem than street name.

Aside, u need to stop getting over emotional over nothing.

I think Umahi is overreacting. Anyone familiar with the street in question, knows that " Club road" is a better name to "Abakiliki street". It's got nothing to do with any discrimination. If I were Obiano, I would name another street Abakiliki to cool tempers

you have spoken my mind.

Creating another abakiliki street is the solution.

This is one of the most unintelligent comment I have read on this forum from a supposedly Igbo man on an Igbo thread, with people like you and your thinking, why wouldn't other tribes insult us and call us names on nairaland, I am so ashamed of you. Mind you iam not from ebony, but iam a full blooded Igbo man doing well for himself, no Anambra man has carried or is carrying me on his shoulder.

“There should be no part of Igboland that should be discriminated against. Ebonyi State has received the highest discrimination even from among her brother states and this is not healthy especially as we fight to unite our people and form a formidable economic and political bloc.
That bleached illiterate donkey called Nnamudi Cownu never saw this as a problem but was more obsessed about killings Yoruba pastors and the President. May his cursed corpse and soul never find rest wherever it is rotting away.

The typical abakaliki BS from Umahi. All the hotels and nightclubs on that road are owned by Anambra indigenes. All of them! Ebonyi people don't contribute anything to Anambra state except poverty, agboro and armed robbery. The abakaliki people are the ones hating on Anambra and this they have shown clearly by frustrating Ibeto Cement from re-activating the Nkalagu cement plant because Ibeto is from Anambra.

Aren't you ashamed of what you are vomiting? You're not just a national disgrace but a colossal disappointment. How could you say that your sister State contribute poverty and also known for robbery? Seriously, it's better to have wisdom without education than education without wisdom

Rivalry, agreement and disagreement are inevitable because those things are characteristics of human beings.Once you remove the aforementioned, then humanity seize to exist.

Even here in Yoruba land, the discrimination is more stronger that we thought. Ife and Modakeke no dey take eyes see each other, Ife don't marry Modakeke and vice versa.
What of Ogun, some of my people are afraid to marry Ogun man due to juju . As for Ijebu, we see them as lesser Yorubas and have no regards for them.
I don't want to discuss about Yoruba Christians vs Yoruba Muslims because even kids can read the handwriting on the wall concerning such matter ..

Summary: Every tribe has internal crisis, but always quick to come together and fight their common enemies.
clean your mouth you can lie for Africa ooni and alaafin are in good terms and recently host world drum festival together in abk.ife and modakeke is a long forgotten land issue.
Christian and Muslim live together as one ask tinubu, saraki, fashola, amosun to mention a few have Christian wife and children.
Take your lies to console your tribe.
