Obi1kenobi: Okay, what makes one a "dictator"? The one who earns more? You're just too ignorant. Maybe your partner is not independent. Plenty of us have independent partners. If earning pay cheques at the end of every month is what it means to be independent, then you're as ignorant as fck. I can't be in a relationship with an independent woman because I don't intend to be independent myself. My definition of independence is not tied to monthly salaries (it is the least of my worries when it comes to relationship or marriage). You know what I've come to understand is that majority of folks who resist the man-leadership roles were raised by single moms. There is no way a father will lead his home the right way and his kids won't take after him. It is just an observation I've come to realize. Some times our history and family lifestyle have a way of shaping our thought process, so I'll just leave you guys to stick with your belief systems. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Obi1kenobi:Have I just reduced you to she's entitled to speak about whatever she chooses? in other words, you have admitted to no responsibility for one's utterances. The right to speak anyhow doesn't include the right to be called to accountability! Isn't that what Feminists advocate for? Patty boy! Obi1kenobi:A throwaway comment? How is that comment any different form her Feminists goals? An interview where's she made a long narration about opening doors, and women being evacuated in war situations first on over 300 words is what you call a comment? I know you ran away from your village because of an ancestral cuss but did it affect your mind too? You keep making me believe an idiot is behind the Obi1kenobi moniker. I have encountered this idiot before. Always as odd as a Nostalgic Transgender Obi1kenobi:you were denied protein at infancy. This is why you're suffering brain mutations. I used her parents as an illustration to what obtains in the average Igbo village. Some other illustration are personal to her. E.g, I don't know her birth position or how many males, but if she's the firstborn and have younger males, they will be the first to honour their parents in death by first pouring sand in the grave before her. That's Igbo custom that is applicable to everyone. Also even if she were the one to foot burial fees and everything, the proceed of the burial will be handed over to her brother traditionally. I don't know why you're denying the truth like a prøstitut£ caught with a used c0nd0m. Obi1kenobi:why call them stereotypes if you're not denying them. Is there any traditional shift in Igbo culture where women are not taking Ozo Chieftaincy Title, or breaking Kola nut, or attending umunna meetings deciding what happens in the community or taking ancestral plot of land? What is changing, you lying piece of human waste!!! Every time you type, you let out the secret you never once was close to your father. No wonder you screamed "I'm the image of my father" when no one asked you. Obi1kenobi:it is horrible to be raised fatherless but tragic to grow as a fatherless illiterate. Please, OSU Patricia, I am conversant with the law that repeals those Customs on the grounds of equity and good conscience and natural justice, same as the law that mandates bastards to inherit property, we studied all those in law school on year 2. Not only is it not enforceable, it hasn't even changed the tradition one bit. I didn't even read link to debunk it. It is still not enforceable. It's same law that repeals OSU caste system in Igbo land and till this day many of them are not married. Law stems from convention and the law imposing OSU, bastards and women inheritance were forced that's why they all failed. Don't use the exception to tell lies. As far as I know, you don't know your father or Customs. Obi1kenobi:I have pointed you to my perk here in Nairaland. If you know the sperm that formed you isn't enveloped in staphylococcus then go fetch the figures from my post I showed you. Obi1kenobi: Are you denying feminism hansnt increased female labour a hundred fold in the workplace? Which one be southern women again? It would have been better who ever funded your education used it for livestock investment. The proceeds would have amounted more than your entire life endeavours. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Fearlez:Well, it seems I have to remind you of that because you somehow harbour the illusion you should get to define what she's allowed to say and who to and where she's allowed to speak. Nobody denied you your right to call anyone to account. I started out asking what is hypocritical about her stance and your rationale was "her people don't allow women inherit property". Perhaps, use words you understand.
You called it a "campaign" against a specific issue, which it is clearly not seeing as it isn't central to any issues I've heard her speak on. Again, not my fault you use words you don't understand.
You used her parents while presuming that is a general mindset among every Igbo and you even denounced my personal examples while saying I must have been an Osu. This means you were operating entirely from stereotypes that you apply to everyone without exclusion. It's either you were ignorant, or again as highlighted earlier, you have problems expressing yourself clearly. Communication isn't all about frothing in the mouth like a rabid dog. Think things through before spewing your ignorant drivel.
He keep shifting the goal posts, meandering into more issues. I'll repeat it again, hoping again that it will finally percolate your thick skull: I have never denied sexist discrimination that exists against women. There is zero purpose to this twaddle you're spewing here. It has nothing to do with anything I've previously asserted. And again, plenty of women inherit plots of land. I don't know what village you're from, but plenty where I am do. You can keep pointlessly squabbling over anecdotal tales or you can talk about something substantive. Keep projecting your miserable family history on me. I know you all had to run and hide anytime your drunkard pig of a father walked into the house, but some of us had loving fathers that taught us to respect women.
Perhaps, it is not enforceable in your village. It is enforceable in mine. After, you will deny you were speaking in stereotypes even as you continue to do so. What a cretin. The Osu caste system has been outlawed. This doesn't mean you can be forced to recognize an Osu in matrimony with a member of your community. The law perfectly recognizes an Osu marriage. This trumps custom that makes it taboo. You cannot compel the community to recognize the marriage, but it is sanctioned by law. Compelling a community to accept the marriage would be akin to compelling mosques or churches in the US to conduct gay weddings.
Which figures did you show me? Where are they? Either post them or stop wasting my time. The dignity of labour is a general human value and has little to do with feminism beyond promoting a most fundamental right. I have asked you twice and you avoided it - so one of your evils of feminism is women getting off their arses to work? They should be there to service your every pleasure and feed your ego and bear children as your personal breeding livestock and sexx machine - that is all they are good for right? Yeah, I've seen the value of your education. It's apparent in your lucidity and logic and manners. I'm envious. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Acidosis: Who said anything about who earns more, abi, are you twisting yourself out of your caveman views. Were the opinions you expressed based on who earns more?
See me see wahala, sha. The clown defines what he thinks my definition of "independence" is and then argues with himself while portraying it as my position. What the fucck are you defining as "independence"? Of course anyone with common sense will assume marriage and co-habitation entails a measure of co-dependence. That doesn't mean either partner aren't independent in the sense that neither is subservient to the other or depends on the other for sustenance. The average married woman in Sweden or Norway or Finland is independent. The average married woman in Saudi Arabia or Somalia isn't. If you can't understand the difference, I can't help you. And I was raised in a proper harmonious home with a strong mother and a dad who empowered and supported her. Perhaps your mom was your dad's slave. I proudly grew up different. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Obi1kenobi: Lol, you are a clown and a 'confusionist'. You were raised in a proper harmonious home yet wants to confuse others on how a home should be raised? You can't define independence in marriage yet wants people to be independent? When ask how and why a married man or woman should be independent, you run to google for case studies from Sweden. Yet, you still can't figure the right definition for your imagination. Oh, your dad supported and empowered your mother? I thought she was strong and independent enough to support herself. This goes to show the depth of your hypocrisy. Like the typical hypocrite that you are, you say one thing on Nairaland and do another in your respective homes. On the one hand, you see marriage as co-dependence, on the other hand, you want an independent woman. Why should your mom allowed herself be empowered and supported by your dad? Why didn't she just play her role like the "independent" woman you claim she is? Just get off this forum already, clownish hypocrite! For this independence-co-dependence confusion you have brought upon yourself, trust me clown, you're in it alone. By the way, my own definition of independent is to help you out of your mystery, we all know what you mean when you say you want an independent woman. I know shame won't allow you admit this fact. 7 Likes |

Fearlez: Your post ascribed a position to you. But then your posts are contradictory so I’m asking you to clarify your stand. Still waiting for a yes or no. Yes or no questions are easy to use in identifying lack of integrity in a poster. They usually can’t say yes or no because it exposes them for who they truly are. All one ver gets is a dance around the subject just like you’re doing. When you simply type yes or no. It’s not even a complicated question. But you can’t answer because you know your true stand is for the oppression and continued marginalization of women. You brought up the ‘real issues’ that chimamanda isn’t supposedly focusing on only to use them to criticize her, not because you care about those real issues but because you will find any excuses to try and shut down anyone who is a feminist even if means pretending to care for a split second. Anyone who cares about the real issues women face is undoubtedly a feminist. But you’re not. So why are concerned about how she does her feminism since you don’t care if women keep being marginalized or not. And you have the nerve to call someone else a hypocrite. very LAUGHABLE 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Obi1kenobi:Nobody has denied anyone the right to air her opinion or whatever. Dana Loesch implied she's a hypocrite at best or a poor person with prioritisation at worse and I say she's a purebred hypocrite. When one points at a fault of another when the same person has a bigger problem, it is hypocritical. Now your limited definition of hypocrisy shouldn't be the world's problem. It is funny how your madam hasn't deemed it worthy to respond to Dana Loesch but was so quick to respond to Nigerians who called her out on her Clinton blunder and left unemployable roaches like you on the home turf to do internet damage control. Now I can't remember where my response to Chimamanda's hypocrisy was Igbo discrimination of women. Lying seems to come naturally easy to you replicating how your mother gave your pregnancy to your mugu "father" without any scruples. Like Acidosi.s opined, you were raised by a bitter angry woman and no wonder you use your real name as your moniker, are you trying to tell the world something about your insecurities? Is Obi not the name given to you by daddy? What a show of desperation. Obi1kenobi:And you called a 500 word narration a comment Seems your comprehension ability never progressed beyond its elementary stages. After all, if you don't understand your own culture, it is only a symptom of other deeper social and intellectual inadequacies that underlay your existence. I understand you liken "campaign" to political activities. sorry but your braincells have been depleting like the hairline of a 60 year old from the moment you lost your life purpose to Chimamanda's crusade. Campaign is generally any action or effort done to achieve a goal. Go back to being an ape and complete your evolutionary phases without skipping the process. Obi1kenobi:I feel obligated to enlighten you. All the examples I gave are predominantly Igbo culture not stereotypes. What you're stating is the exception to the rule. That your family does things differently doesn't negate Igbo culture from what it is. * Every Igbo town and village does not give women Ozo title * Or allow them break Kola nut * Or partake in umunna meetings (except invited as witness or for interrogation) * Igbo women are not GENERALLY allowed to inherit ancestral land. This is the general rule no Igbo in this thread dare deny including the Igbo girl I flogged with the hard truth. Only you born by parents who share an encyclopedia of STDs between them stand here to tell me it's stereotype. Bitxhass fagggott! Obi1kenobi:and I call you a lying outcast. I have lived and toured idemilli, Nneni, Nnobi, Ideani, ogidi, Nkwelle, and most villages in Anambra and many women do not inherit their father's land. You change it from wealth to land after i called you a slimy lying idiot. Bastard son of an absentee father. You're lying about women inheriting land because it can't be easily verified online. Oya, since your family is so progressive, show me any woman in your family with an Ozo title or in any Igbo Community and I will stop arguing with a lying putrid sac of human puss like you. Obi1kenobi:Oga Patricia, show me the name of a female Ozo tittle holder in idemilli. Just stop ranting as if your family isn't embarrassed by having one of their dogs online barking like some demon possessed outcast Obi1kenobi:the brain-damaged idiot is still recycling same stuff like his mother recycle the only quality pant she was given as gift. So you know Igbos haven't still accepted OSU and still prevent their children from marrying one despite court rulings. Isn't it same with female land inheritance? Son of a dick-gagging vampire. Obi1kenobi:Again,you have brought this to feminism when we're dealing with Chimamanda's hypocrisy and duplicity because all you're looking for is acceptance and recognition from Feminists. Whether women work or not isn't my concern. I simply pointed out the effects as it is. Now if you chose to spin it around and give it a new meaning to spring confusion like the circumstances of your birth, just count me out. I said women have always worked even in Africa in precolonial times but you pretend not to see it. This is the behaviour of all the OSU I know in Igbo land. And if your family doesn't abide by Igbo traditions then you're an OSU like every other unfortunate twerp in your bloodlines Obi1kenobi:There's no female in your long line of ancestry and foremothers that is fit enough to carry my foetus, the sheer weight of my hormones and molecular DNA composition will overwhelm their mundane and inferior biological disposition. You're the child of inferior conception! 8 Likes 1 Share |

Fearlez: That's nonsensical of course. If by "limited definition of hypocrisy", you mean, the actual definition which wasn't dragged out your arse, then yeah, I have a limited definition of hypocrisy. She doesn't have a "bigger problem", so there is nothing hypocritical. She is defined by her views of life, not sharing a Nigerian heritage with insecure degenerates. She has the moral standing to offer any commentary she pleases based on her personal philosophy, not how degenerates behave where she came from. That this logic is lost on you says a lot about your faculties.
This was included in your very first comment to me: "It is hypocritical of Chimamanda to tell White society about irrelevant gestures like males opening doors for females as a mark of courtesy, or to criticize Hilary Clinton over where she chooses to place her status as wife of Bill Clinton in a society that allowed a woman to become the flag bearer of a major political party...a situation that is unlikely to occur in her country in the next hundred years. You see, it is an implied stance that all is good in my culture, country and background, when in truth, the fool can't even inherit her father's landed property" You're either an amnesiac, have some debilitating brain disease or you spew so much mindless drivel, you can't keep up with your own buffoonery. I sympathize.
Military campaign. Media campaign. Advertizing campaign. League campaign. Political campaign. A "campaign" suggests assiduous, resolute commitment to something over a significant period of time. I could have told you that from secondary school English. An interview critiquing male notions of chivalry is not a "campaign", you cretin.
I feel obliged to keep giving you a basic education in semantics. An embarrassment for a "lawyer". Stereotype - "a stereotype is an over-generalized belief about a particular category of people. Stereotypes are generalized because one assumes that the stereotype is true for each individual person in the category." How does the above not apply to your mindless waffle about whether Chimamanda can inherit her father's landed properties or not, or the even more mindless waffle about how her father would have married another wife if he had no sons from his wife? How does not apply as a stereotypical judgement? Were you dropped on your head as a kid? Even as you have claimed that I am lying and no girl in Idemili inherits her father's property, you still claim you're not operating on a stereotype. I changed from wealth to land? I spoke about land because you started stressing it after I spoke of girls inheriting their father's wealth. Of course no girls inherit their father's house without the land on it. I'm compelled again to ask if you were dropped on your head as a kid. You started out sounding a bit clever, if hilariously arrogant, delusional and mannerless, but you sound more like a buffoon with each new iteration of your lame arguments. This is too easy.
1) There are female chieftaincy titles in Igbo land. Asking why there are no female holders of the Ozo title is as asinine as asking why there are no females playing in the current World Cup. 2) My "progressive" family do not hand out chieftaincy titles. Your demand makes no sense. Might as well ask me which woman in my family is a Catholic priest. 3) I'll repeat for the 3rd time, since it failed to percolate in the previous two replies I made: I have never denied sexist discrimination in Igbo land. It has no relevance to any point I made about Chimamanda. This back-and-forth was started by my stating she cannot be held accountable for the sexist pathologies of her root culture, so it is pretty silly to say she is a hypocrite for speaking about American issues. Waste my time less if you have nothing else of substance to say beyond arguing with me about sexism in Igbo society.
I watched a program just a few days ago on Channels Tv about Osu outcasts in Enugu communities who got married to freeborn community members and were shunned, but reconciled with the communities. The communities may not have recognized the marriage and considered it taboo, but for all intents and purposes, Nigerian law and the churches sanctioned their marriages. The law cannot legislate against social ostracism because that is a personal thing. you can't force a man who considers it taboo to support a marriage between an Osu outcast and a freeborn member of his community. It has no parallel with land/property disputes where court judgments supersede customs. You said you went to Law school - you must either be a charge-and-bail quack or you're not practicing.
You were the one regaling us with your fantasies about how feminism has led to a "dramatic" reduction in female life expectancy (still waiting for those statistics ) and shrunk the reproductive life of women. You used this in a pejorative way. I've simply asked you what you would want those women to do with their lives and you've been dithering and digressing. Just look at his ramblings. If I heard my 8-year-old nephew debasing himself in such a manner on the playground, I'd be ashamed of him. Look at the juvenile raving of the demented loon. 5 Likes |

I’m paraphrasing here, but basically that was the question. Should Chimamanda have said “yes, men must open doors”? Wouldn't that be logically fraudulent and inconsistent with the feminist message?
