No not downplaying their win. What for! I am just been objective. He was asked to come into the pitch the moment the pols guy played the ball backwards thinking no Senegalese player was there. Go rewatch that moment, the pols last man hesitated a bit cos of the confusion. The ball was played right to where he was going so why will he not follow the flight of the ball.

Leave Africa matter. Let’s focus on our Super Eagles

Trying to downplay Senegal’s win. I can tell u for sure if Nigeria has that opportunity no player in that team would have chased that ball like that.

So back to the NFF. Fashanu is committed
TheSuperNerd:
Yep. He, the NFF and any other force. We need all the guys who can make this happen for us. Like make it actually happen.

No be just follow, if he ran a little slower he won’t have gotten that chance. That striker ran like he was running for his life.

Naija mentality.

What is bad if you have two deadly strikers in a team?

If he is back up to Yekini, na sin?

Emm! You mean after playing 2 matches coming in as a substitute, he is the worst ever England national team player?

Dey believe lies dey go.

Besides, Fashanu was popular in the early 80s. This was before Yekini began to shine.

Committed to talking to them? Or have you suddenly forgotten Pinnick's efforts with some of these guys from Iwobi to Aina and all?

True. Nacho's finishing is something that we sorely need in this lineup. The question is how do we fit both in alongside Iwobi, Mikel, Ndidi and Vic Moses?
Vic Moses should be played as a wing back but I doubt he'll be cool with that

I would agree with you in the past but with caution.

Without very good support play KC can become anonymous add to that in a physical game he will struggle to impose himself.

No African team has scored from either corner kick or free kick yet they have conceded most goals from dead ball situations. Football has gone pass the era of dancing around, it is about little details such as crosses, shooting accuracy and dead ball efficiency.
Senegal's goals today came from good fortune. No really outstanding attempt on goal. The second goal will be pursued by any striker cos that was the only choice available
And what if they lost the match? ...A win is a win bro.

I disagree. Hardly will any foreign born player who is established in a top league agree to play for Nigeria no matter how the NFF is being run.

Why do you disagree

I will admit to handicap in that i will only be able to talk about players in the UK.

In this regard I have personally spoken to a lot of Nigerian origin players and the issue at stake is our approach.

I do not insult players. I might criticize how they play but i do not insult.

If Ighalo has a great game against Iceland, I will praise him.

Critical assessment of a player is very wrongly construed as insulting or hate.

I have concluded for the Fanatical fans they are only able to see things one sided. Anything to the contrary is insult, bad- belle and abuse. Very misguided approach I say.

I for one have never observed one derogatory word from you. And appreciate your view.

Tribalism and Nepotism no go kill us for this country. Anything we wan we must use quota system share am... So much for an Independent nation. I blame the founding fathers.

It is time we adopt this slogan "the best have it" so that we can progress as a nation.

It is still one of the reasons I don't like local coaches handling our national teams. Their level of biasness is out of this world

TELL HIM Sir

Actually John is not known to most of these boys on a personal basis. They may have heard of him but as a person in relationship by association I very much doubt.

Fash I know quite well, he even invited me to the opening of a nightclub of sorts he had interest in located in Abuja.

Unfortunately he no longer spends much time in the UK. and his involvement currently with football in the UK very limited.

He is probably more involved with Nigerian football. In 2013/14 he brought a team of U18 Nigerian all stars to the UK to showcase to EPL clubs. So he probably more involved with Nigerian football.

Being a firm believer in attacking football and positive play. I'll go with this formation.

-----------Uzoho-------

Ebuehi/Shehu--Ekong--Balogun--Idowu

--------Mikel/Ndidi-----

---Moses/Etebo---Iwobi--------

Iheanacho--Ighalo/Simi--Musa------

Moses/Etebo and Iwobi charged with falling back to defend when necessary.

Team loaded with attacking players to increase your probability of scoring.

Team flooded with pacy players to wreak havoc on slow defences and also during counters.

I'm watching Russia VS Egypt and thinking Mikel should be playing the Elneny role, where he will be the spare man in midfield and not the no8 role or SS he played against Croatia.

Elneny is not superfast but compared to Mikel he seems like a sprinter.

Mikel simply doesn't have the legs to play that role. The technical ability, outstanding passing range and vision 100% absolutely a big YES.

But can those attributes overcome stamina and lack of pace. It's open to debate.
