It is still one of the reasons I don't like local coaches handling our national teams. Their level of biasness is out of this world

Bro the things I have witnessed with our NFF coaches and officials is not shocking just dissaponting. Because it is the national set up where national interest should be paramount.

Otherwise it reflects what happens in club football YES even in England deals under the table deals and backhanders. A situation where the self interest deal is more important than player quality.

Which silly trend?

Who told you he refused to play for Nigeria?

John Fashanu came to play but he was benched and told point blank that Nigerian pattern of play doesn't suit him. Oh ha!

Then he left. EOD

Where did our speed go? When i watch other matches....there is so much intensity, pace and speed...we had these in abundance in the qualifiers and friendlies....what happened?

Elneny is not superfast but compared to Mikel he seems like a sprinter.

Mikel simply doesn't have the legs to play that role. The technical ability, outstanding passing range and vision 100% absolutely a big YES.

But can those attributes overcome stamina and lack of pace. It's open to debate.
If he has Ndidi and Etebo in the starting line up - it's not an issue. Think Pirlo at Juve. He had Vidal, Pogba and Marchiso to bring energy to the midfield while he did his thing.

Senegal’s WC record is quite impressive so far. 2 appearances, 3 wins, 2 draws. and 1 loss.

Mikel's best role is as a regista. Have 2 energetic box to box players to cover him i.e Ndidi and Etebo.
Look at Carola and Pirlo for example. Both were slow and lacked the energy/stamina but they had Coquelin, Vidal, Marchiso, Pogba, etc bringing energy to the midfield while they dictated play from deep.
At Arsenal, Santi would stay and dictate and Coquelin played b2b destroyer and his job was to win the ball and give it to Santi. Ramsey who played out wide drifted infield to make it a midfield 3 and helped defensively.
We can play a 4-2-3-1 like Arsenal with Iwobi as 10 and Mikel as our Santi and Ndidi as our Coquelin with Etebo playing outwide as our Ramsey or a 4-3-3 with Mikel Regista and Ndidi - Etebo in front of him with Iwobi on the left.
These are our best option for a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 with Mikel in it. We need to stop playing Mikel as a 10...it's not going to work in the world cup.

Mikel has never been a fast player. Even in his club he does not play 10. Pace and Mikel are hardly in a sentence. I remember when they used to call him Slowbilis. I think he is just that kind of player who does all the running. Comparing him to Sado is really unfair

dropping shehu and starting Musa? We are not ready for any world cup. We have to wait for another four years. Anyone that doesn't see this is a federal character something is blind. It's clear now Rohr isn't the one calling the shots. Shame on NFF. Shame shame and more shame. Nonsense!

What is federal character in starting Musa?

Is Musa a bad player?

How many wingers do you have in your team?

If Musa is one of the 3 wingers in the team and one of the winger who did not live up to expectation is dropped for Musa, is it not a normal thing to do?

Victor Moses, Iwobi and Musa are thes three wingers Rohr is used to, and since Iwobi was not effective enough, it will be a wise decision to drop him and start Musa.

It is a very simple straight forward thing. So, wetin be quota system for dis one.

Abi, make we use Iwobi wey we know say em no dey do well for the wing come take play Iceland again?

Imagine reading "starting musa is federal character". How low have we all gone that we cant even reason properly again without the effect of tribalism and ethnictism beclouding our judgement?

Like Musa doesn't deserve to be in the squad, the same Musa that thrive well in Russia. Infact why should Musa be on the bench for Iwobi in the first place when talking wing play?

LMAO....... I temporarily stayed off from posting on this Thread coz some Monikers I respected are going haywire with their Posts just because we lost a Match.

So playing Musa is simply to comply with Quota System?! Musa does not deserve to be in the Team I guess?! LOL!

I don't wanna get involved in this kinda Discourse, but it's better we reason deeply before making Posts.

This Rohr just dey funny me. I he likes, he can pack short players against giants, they will cage all of them the sane way they caged the great Messi and even worse, all the FKs wey dem get go just dey enter net.

Abeg, I no come this morning to yarn Super Eagles matter, I just want to remind everyone that Senegal is the only African nation that went to Russia with an indigenous coach and look how well they did yesteryesterday.

Perhaps their coach was not feeding them tales of how much better Lewandoski is. Do they have a team psychologist? Most likely, no.

What Senegal has that Nigeria obviously doesn't is PRIDE. They had PASSION. That is what PATRIOTISM is about. So, Ogu should go and ask them what's up next time he wants to feed us trash.

The Senegalese team is allergic to losing. You see it when they play, all you see when Nigeria plays is tired, lazy, losers with slave mentality. Always bowing to their white massas.

Good morning guys.

I think he can be with right service.

He got Zero service how many through balls did he get in the entire match. Ighalo fought for scraps and crumbs.

He still the best option KC in the same position would not have done any better probably worse.
he never opened up for a pass. If you saw the Senegal game yesterday, you'd appreciate a striker that makes runs and not the static kind of striker we have in Ighalo. Mobility wins it for strikers now not body build.

2 Days ago, Cise called for the Appointments of Africans as Coaches of African Senior Teams. Yesterday he was the only African (Black) leading an African Team and he made the whole Continent Proud.

Samson almost won Gold at Rio despite that he couldn't get the Players he needed for the Competition. We under-appreciate our indigenous Coaches, we've condemned them as corrupt Personnel, yet they deliver when they call upon.

Even Shuaibu didn't let us down on two Occasions he was called to serve his Father's Land.
